Interestingly, MoYu also released two other versions of the RS3M V5, one with just a screw and spring and one with their dual adjustment system. MoYu offered the option of paying a bit extra to have these two versions with the robot but they didn't provide that option for the ball core version, they just forced everyone to get the robot too.
Thank you for being honest about the “hollow” feeling. The amount of reviewers that overlook this aspect is insane. I have used cheap feeling cubes and cannot stand them. Would almost rather use my old Dayan Zhanchi.
Love it! Really great review and the cube is indeed wonderful. Not my main, as the V9 and V10 exist, but definitely an excellent option (also not to be a pedant but this one just has the standard 8-magnet core, not 20)
Its actually just an ootb issue. I found my own v5 having the best corner cutting of any cube, forward and reverse after months of break in. The difference is actually insane.
I totally agree with your point that the cube feels hollow in a bad way. This is due to the trend of cube company are trying to make lightweight cube, as a result they have to use thinner plastic pieces. I prefer some wight cubes like the RS3M 2020 which is heavier than the V5 Bc. No one ask for lightweight cubes, but why do cube company make it, is making me rage.
i get some of the issues, but personally i dont mind (and in some cases i even like) some of the things you briught up i have my v5 quite loose, and that makes the corner cutting excellent, maybe even on par with the v9, but ofc it makes the cube more unstable, but for me personally i dont really mind it also when i lube mine i wouldnt say i really find it to be clacky, maybe its more of a crunchy feel, and it is high-pitched but i think for me its complemented by the feeling of the turning, which again is crunchy, and maybe even soft cause of the uv coating and that could also explain why it feels hollow: its a very fast, soft high-pitched cube, which i believe fills the criteria to allow for a hollow feel, cause i dont find it to be bad at all, i actually quite enjoy it, because to me it makes the cube feel airy, making it lean towards the gan cube feel so yeah its my main and i dont see myself switching any time soon, i really enjoy ita feel and performance because of how much it suits me, and its such a please to turn i end up practicing more
forgot to say this before but if i had to pinpoint an issue i personally have with the cube is that the magnets are quite weak, but that can be fixed with the rs3m+ kit, which im planning to get soon
This cube is really good for performance but feels really cheap, if you want a good feeling cube, i suggest the rs3m super. Much softer and much quieter
Is this cube better than the tornado v3 Standard Version? I need a cube that doesn't require any lube like it can be used without lubes for 5-6 months btw i am beginner cuber so yeah hope you reply
@@HridaySaradhi okay my bad. Get the Guhong! I bought thirteen 3x3s last year and the Guhong is my second favorite. Quiet, controllable, fast, and simple.

@@CubeMonkeyKid yeah must be a weird time to join speedcubing with all these new releases isnt it id say the speed of the 2020 is an already good starter speed, so id recommend a fast water-based lube and a slower denser one to balance themselves out (this applies to a lot of cubes), like dnm and fz-calm if youre buying from the cubicle

“The RS3M 2020 with no box would be so cheap that Moyu would pay me when I buy it

Yeah, it's annoying because I think most people would just choose the one without if that was an option.
@@UK_Cuber well I don't even bother stocking the one with it for the other options. You can buy the robot separately if you really want it
@@speedcubingdotorg Yeah, exactly. I assume that most people just don't bother buying the robot as well.
@@UK_Cuberngl the robot is kinda cute. But yeah I agree
@@UK_Cuberi can only solve a cube in 1:42 minutes and i started around 2 weeks ago. Is that good?
3:46 it’s an 8 magnet ball core with no edge repelling magnets
Exactly, I noticed that mistake too.
Exactly
The corner cutting it's good you just have really tight tension, if you loose the screw you can cut everywhere

I used to main the V5 till gan released the 12 Maglev and then switched back to a MoYu cube (WRM v10) I have to stop with this addiction.
The gan 12 Maglev got released way before the v5
