- Got the chance to take the legendary Yamaha MT07 for a little test ride, thanks to Evolution Motovlogs.
What a solid bike, the power delivery on this thing is beautiful and coupled with that full akra exhaust, just makes it a monster on the road! The MT07 has always had a special place for me, its a bike that I wanted to upgrade to so badly but never got the chance, for anyone who's recently just got their licence, i'd highly recommend this as a contender!

I boutgh Yamaha MT 07 last Friday. It is my first bike and i am really happy and verry impressed. Can´t wait finish my job every day and take a ride... Nice video, by the way :-)

I am afraid the MT 07 will start to feel slow very fast. Thats why i want to go with the MT 09. Whats ur thoughts on that ?
As i said. I am beginner. My first "bike" was scooter Honda PCX 125 - two months with 11 horse power. Now i have 700 cc, 75 horse power, so for me its like Hayabusa :-) But many friends have warned me, what you mentioned...Will se after one - two seasons...
@@playingfor4 I have the same issue. I went from a ninja 250 to a mt07 and was blown away by the difference. After a few months I feel my bike just isn't as fast as it was. I think it's a mentality thing, and you'll probably think the same thing sitting on a R1 for a few months as well
I'm thinking of going from a 2007 YZF600R to an MT-07.. Will I get bored quickly with the power? I am thinking it will be okay, 600CC is more than enough to get me in trouble, considering its newer + lighter, 100 more CC. I am use to the power on my bike.

I ride the retro version, the XSR 700 with a full Akrapovic. Sounds so good, love it so much.
A good friend of mine also has an MT07 and I had the chance to ride it last year. It was my second time on a motorcycle in my life and it was an amazing experience! So much torque and man that sound from that akrapovic exhaust, I think I fell in love that moment, haha! Still riding my 140cc Dax though but one day I'll get my full licence and buy me one of these!

Gave my buddy a go of my sv with shorty pipe. All I could hear was like Braaap behind me every 5 seconds. Addictive with the twins. Very much like this.

So close to buying one of these. Passed my test on the old MT07 and had a test ride on the 2018. I wanted something different so went with a Ducati 797. I still love the MT07, the torque is addictive.

My first ever bike the MT07 with a Blackwidow full exhaust system. Id never been on a bike before but just jumped in. Love it. Sounds aggressive. Nice power and torque. Fun bike.
My first bike was the unrestricted 2000 ZX-12R Ninja and now i've got the 2019 MT-07 so i'm doing things in reverse but having more fun on this bike then any other ive owned for some reason?

My friends ride bigger bikes, rsv4, panagale v4, v2, and a super duke.
All have had a go on my MT07 and really enjoyed it. Powerband is really usable. Not just top end so you always feel it pulling!

@@travissearles23 yeah man I have a tail tidy on. I did it same time I put my exhaust on. A little bit of fiddling but pretty easy job. I used the OEM signals again. But plan to get a LED set.

Heading out for a morning ride near my new home in Miami, AZ which is the mountains of Arizona! But compared to Colorado where i'm from these are ant hills! Still some fun twisties though!

Wait till you ride an 09 or 10, kinda the same feeling but the gears just keep going and torque keeps coming

Where do you get that crash cage?
When I had my 09 Hornet was with insurance getting repaired (very similar bike to yours) I was given an ER6 as a hire bike and TBH I thought it was a better more usable bike, at least for the city and it definitely felt gruntier than the Hornet despite it being down on power.
Grunt is all about lb/ft, and where it peaks in the rev range, which on the 07 is only at about 6grand

J/k of course! Kinda sounds fun though!lol. It's really loud but i think it sounds great! Some people like the drag races and some people don't! I just happen to love loud and fast anything but my women!😁
Love the video mate! I purchased my mt-07 basically because it was a cheap motorbike. I wanted the 09 but my mate who works at a Yamaha dealership called and said they had this 07 and would make me a good deal. So I purchased the 07 and I’m impressed. It has loads of torque and with the Akra exhaust it sounds great! Cheers

Thi M. Im 16 and im fine with 125cc😂 i’d take some 300. For example R3, its not underpowered and it has good handling. And its light.

This week I sold my FZ6 S2 and stuck the money down on an MT-07. I will miss that ancient screaming bastard but ultimately, that bike has 2 modes: less than 9k rpm = sluggish commuter, more than 9k rpm = dislocated elbows and blue flashing lights. Hoping the MT-07 finds a burbly balance in between!
I think you'll find the MT07 3k rpm and above = blue lights 😜
How much am i going to miss my R6 if a buy this? i kind enjoyed riding my mates XJ6 for a while but then i miss the r6, i'm just sick of riding an X reg R6 getting up at 5am for work worrying if shes gonna start. i was eyeing up these but someone said they're abit slow but id rather spend 4.5 over 9 for the r6. Will deffo be better for riding around in normally only time i can see it hurting is when im late for work and need to do 110 down the A13
It's definitely not slow, my FZ6 has got an R6 engine in so the power only really comes in above 6k rpm. This MT puts out its torque from like 3k, felt quicker than my bike. Also we had a dead on drag race and the mt was right behind me upto 90mph, couldn't tell there's a 20bhp difference at all. As for the 110mph stuff yeah you will probably notice a difference because it's a naked, but I think you'd enjoy riding this on normal roads more than an R6. Personal preference at the end of the day tho :)

Should tune as if it isnt it will effect your engine power aln fueling

@@randombanditdad3754 Akra states tuning isn't required but still recommended for optimum performance. Tuning can always improve performance.

How are you getting such clear voice audio? I recently bought a hero 8 with a purple panda mic but the exhaust is just far to loud and ruins the audio 😭
I'm not sure, I've used the same setup since I started motovlogging like 5 years ago, just found it works perfectly. Always balances the audio pretty well, never distorts. It's a drift HD mic with Go Pro adapter

if you think MT09 is torquey you should try 1000cc sportbike. Since those have 115Nm compared to 82Nm in mt09
You guys should try the Aprilia Pegaso Strada (2007+ models). It is not as powerful being a 650 single cylinder bike, but even though it only has 48hp, it still has 62nm of torque which is only about 5 nm less than the MT-07. Crazy fun bike! Can easily do power wheelies in first, and it pulls with most of its power from 3k rpm which is hilarious :D Really underrated city and countryroad bike!

i declined the MT07 after a test ride.. The FZ6 is a much better bike.. the MT07 seemed to rev out really quickly

I never understand why people go up a gear with motorbikes so early after actually going through decent training - they're built to be at higher revs to stabilise the bike.The MT-07 can hit 77mph in 3rd¬

Do some research and you will find that the Akro sounds like this with the baffles in...
There are other MT07 riders with this exhaust and the rider has answered that same question stating that they are in.

19 in the UK, but it has to be restricted. Otherwise 24 for the bike with its full power.
You will enter a new world, when your fz6 will be unrestricted, believe me.

I have restricted and they are the same, restricted only has a metal flap on the throttle wire wheel that stops u from giving max gas, but still does 160+ km/h so :)

of course its faster than the fz5... dont be fooled by the hp. the mt 07 will knock your head off... and from the video you havent even tested it properly ;)
*FZ6, and what do you expect?? He's on English B roads, not at Silverstone.
The FZ6 S2 is faster than the MT07, the MT07 has more useable power in normal traffic but if you get on the gas the FZ6 S2 is faster. I owned both.
The FZ6 is by far faster if you have a clear stretch of road. Its power deliver just means you have to be high in the revs before you can use its power, whereas the MT07 has most of its power available at all times, so you can just give it a handful whenever you like regardless of what gear you are in. In non-obstructed riding the FZ6 is faster. If you are in a lot of stop and go situations with constant acceleration and deceleration, the MT07 will probably be faster
Yesss all these people commenting are right. The MT07 power is more usable and instant, but we had a flat out drag race and the fz is quicker
