Sorry to hear about the bad news. We need really need more people and families like yours. Our country seems to be moving away from the basics. I am sure you have helped and touched so many people through these videos. Prayers from my family to yours
Awesome Video! You're a rare breed sir. Usually youtubers avoid politics and religion. Good to hear both in your videos. Love a brother with courage and confidence in the Lord Jesus. Lord Bless.
Thank you for all your videos! I have been able to repair almost all of my Grandma's 8 acres of fencing on my own! It's no ranch but it keeps a couple of old horses on the property. Praying for your family.
This is a must have for farm fencing. I build fences for a living and I can see that this tool is a must have. Thank you for the video and God bless you and your family
Grate video as always. I enjoy the help and tips I go and watch some of you older videos just to get the information. I will be praying for you and the family, God Bless Brother.
Definitely will say some prayers for you and your family! Thank you for the video! Need to fix and add more fencing to my family’s property! God Bless! 🙏🏼
Man, i just got into your videos. "If you aint learning. Youre not living." Daily goal is to have learned something new. No matter how miniscule. I tell kids all the time that. I lost one of my best friends My grandpal. and he knew all these little tricks. Ive picked up or forgotten thru our 26 yrs. I was always his help and the past few year's. Ive been needing his. Especially trying my hand on the land myself. Prayers man.
Sorry that you lost your grandfather, I was very close with my grandfather as well. Sometimes when I think about it, it’s like a stake in my heart with sorrow.
I wish I had one of those, but I don't. I only have a Goldenrod fence stretcher. I'm going to see if I can get it work with that. Granted, there may not be as much room above the wire, but I'm hoping I can get it to work somehow in the smaller space above the wire by turning the pliers nearly parallel with the fence instead of perpendicular like this. Thank you and Good luck to you and your family.
Thanks for the videos! I learn a lot! I'm 70 and disabled with a rare disease thateates the cartilage from ALL my joints, hence, not much strength, anymore! So, THIS particular tool won't work for me unless I get pieces of pipe to use as cheaters to help me pull the sides of the tool together! ALSO, I subscribed to your channel 3 days ago! Yesterday, I had to subscibem again and today I had to do itm again! WHO do you thnk is doing this?? If it's happening to me, I'm likely not the ony one! So, youmigh want to check into it! Just a word to let you know something IS happening! Thanks, again, Luke! Have a good day!
i use some kinda ratchet stretcher about 4 times the size of yours but i cant do that wrapping trick Luke praying for you buddy great to see you posting as always
My neighbor gave me all the scrap metal from a trampoline which included a bucket of springs. I have been splicing these springs into loose sections of barbed wire fence. It looks good so far but time will tell as it's only been less than a year since I stared doing this.
1st off... Thinking of you & your family. Secondly... I have never see one of these before! Looks like a real slick deal! The fact you don't have to cut the barbwire looks fantastic!! 😁
Hey brother ur not alone we all go through those dark valley's but the LORD said he will never leave us or forsake us amen GOD BLESS u and your family 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂from upstate new York the dark liberal state
That is the best fence stretcher by far I have used bought my texas fence fixer about 2 yrs ago and your right $100.00 dollar bill is about what it cost. Prayers to you all
Thanks for the video and the Lord bless you and your family through these trials - it will be a blessing to you. Have you tried mending broken or cut fences with this stetcher?
Looks like that old design is much better than the new ones like I have - the wire tends to slip out of the jaws when you are tightening it. Still I really like the concept, and have been thinking of trying to build another set with improved jaws. I think I just saw the answer... God bless, and I send my prayers for your family.
There is a guy out of Australia called James Higgins that makes a set much closer to the antique pattern shown here, but with modern materials and design improvements. Might want to check it out for some ideas.
I have a little clip tool I got at tsc for the clips hope you can get through this and have a great year if that's even possible with this administration God bless
Good job........ I use several different methods and different tools. Depends mainly on which truck I am in when I find wire to work on. Just strung a full plus 1/4 mile of brand new post and H Braces and corner braces with SIX STRAINS of wire. I used four rolls of 15.5 gauge and two rolls of 12.5 gauge. Started those runs eight inches off the ground and eight inches between each of the first four strains then to 9 inches then 12 inches at the top. This is bran new perimeter fence and the neighbor has dogs and he does not care to pen them up and the cows were here first. Praying for you and your family for Gods will to be done and comfort from the Comforter if needed. If you need anything, let us know. Will be glad to do whatever we can do.
do you have any examples of how you stretchback up the horse wire with 2 strands of barbed over it. where the cows and horses bend it down between the horse wire and the barbed ti eat the grass that must be greener in the ither side?
Great video, I am not a farmer but like learning how things are done. I am sorry to hear that you farmers are suffering in the USA. Farmers in the UK where I live are having similar problems. We now have a communist government just like yours. God help us all.
Those are chinese knock off copies and they are made of cast iron. they will break in half at the most inconvenient time. You have to either get the Texas fence stretcher (made of cast steel), an antique one (made of forged steel) or a James Higgins out of Australia (made of plate steel).
One thing to learn.......On using steal fence post driver ........ never use them with handles on them. They are short....and if they pop off the top of the post.....your fingers could be in jeopardy !!!! Use the same pipe size....about 2 inch inside diameter. Weld one end shut. Primary...... make the driver pipe longer !!!! Nothing less then 3 feet. You can always cut it shorter ! That way it wont pop off the post...and theres no need for handles because you have more area of travel to hit with.....creating for force ! With handles.....its a good way to amputate fingers ! I know...... cut those in pieces !
Luke , do me a favor get rid of that tightly woven straw hat before you have a heat stroke, and get one that is lossely woven so the breeze can get threw to your head and help keep your cooler, wear that one in the winter 🥶 👍👍
I’m gonna look for that tool for me. At this point instead of build back better just put it back the way they found it…..our doofus in charge doesn’t have a clue. Prayers to you and your family
Thanks Luke these videos have helped tremendously! I recently became a widow and am having to do everything my hard working wonderful husband used to do. Only 11acres but plenty of work nonetheless. Thank you and God bless you and your family and you are right this president is destroying our country. Hang in there!
I bought one of the Texas ones for about $100 and after about 3 uses it got a lot of slack in one of the joints where the wire passes through. Haven’t used it since.
Have you tried to return it, I’ve heard they’re a good company and they stand behind their products. It’s a great tool specially if you’re on the river.
Honestly, I got so aggravated that so just threw it in the shop and forgot about it for months. I could probably fix it if I ever had enough free time to tinker with it.
The old saying is there’s a difference between common sense and common knowledge, if I had not knowing what that was I would’ve never guessed it was a fencing tool.👍🏽
You speak the truth, sir. At 69 years old, I have 700 ft of fence to repair. The Democrat Village idiot told me he knew how to tighten fence. I paid him well to drive staples halfway thru the fencepost to "tighten" the barbed wire. Ill do it myself with my 30% lung function. One section at a time. Thanks for the lesson.

does this work for HT single strand fencing as well?
Would love to find one like yours. The new knockoffs are junk. that one has nice wide clamps to engage the wire.
