    One thing that doesn't get mentioned about hydrapacks is just how effective as a back protector . I know, as I had them save my back twice ( mountainbiking).
    In both accidents I was riding downhill quickly and went over the bars. The area all around the backpack was bruised including below. The area under the pack ( my spine) was completely unharmed.

      Thanks Greg, I hadn’t thought of that! I should wear it for mountain biking too! Good work on keeping your spine safe. Long may it continue!

    Just a quick tip to anyone using a drinks bladder.
    If you give it a quick flush through with clean water, shake off the excess, then roll it up and put it in the freezer.
    This way it’s always clean and fresh, will never grow mould or any kind of bacteria and it’s much easier than trying to clean.

    That's why I bought a 3 l Camelbak a few years ago, Andre. Perfect for trail day riding in the Alps. At the end of each day the Camelback was empty! But not enough extra space, since there is nothing at all on my barebone Beta Alp 200. Your Enduristan has all that. But I've already bought small daybags from 21Brothers/Poland to solve that Beta problem. This June in the Italian Alps again for a week of happy trailriding.

      For the alps and here, I think it’s perfect. A few years ago I was out in Las Vegas for a conference, and flew out early and rented an Africa Twin with knobblies to go for a ride in the desert. I took 5l of water. I ran out around 1:30pm. It was 104F/40C though. I was in the middle of nowhere, on a gravel/sand road with no mobile signal, hadn’t told anyone where I was going, and hadn’t seen anyone else for hours (sensible people were probably indoors…) luckily I found a paved road half an hour later, and rolled into the appropriately named ‘Valley of Fire’ visitors centre shortly thereafter to cool down. ‘Not my finest moment 🤣

      @@PeakMotorcycles A lucky day, Andre. In that scorching heat in the desert life is very different from Europe. Next time 10 litres.

    Perfect timing Andre, recently purchased this and am using it on next weeks Magellan trip to the Picos. Going on my RNineT Scrambler so travelling light, this will have all my important stuff in it. Not using a bladder on this occasion but will probably get one for some UK TET in September on the Rally. I’m very impressed with the ENDURISTAN gear and have Blizzards and Hurricane for the Rally. It exudes quality and thanks for explaining all the very useful features👍Those straps though! I’m an M size😂

      Thanks Gareth. I decided to have a go at being a shop and am now an Enduristan reseller… A little late perhaps as there seems to be a lot of it about so perhaps that ship has sailed. Have fun on the trip. Is Andy leading that one? He was up here at the weekend as we did our Outdoor First Aid certificate in the Peak District. If at any point he puts he hands in the air and says he is ‘Assessing for Danger’ it’s the training. They made us do that a lot 🤣. Have an awesome trip. Can’t believe I have to wait until July for Romania. I definitely got that wrong 😐

      @@garethowen61 Plymouth is definitely too far away! I think he mentioned it was Portsmouth on the return, so not quite as far for the return.
      The Picos will be great fun on the R9T. I did the Picos and Portugal trip in 2018 and it was a highlight.

    Confused between this and Kriega T18! I like the T9 but it's too small almost no space. Then I don't want a BIG pack too. Is the chest harness as comfortable as Kriega?

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  Рік тому +1

      Hi, I haven’t used the Kriega backpack so can’t give you a comparison I’m afraid. I know folks that do and they all seem happy with it. That said I know of one Kriega bag that leaked a bit during a very wet day and so far the Hurricane has stayed dry. The downside of that is that the Hurricane zip is still quite stiff (for the seal) and my friends Kriega is easier to open. If you can find a store with both and you can try them on, that might give you an initially indication. I know what you mean about avoiding a big pack; they are great for storage but after a long day, every extra bit of weight on your back is felt.
      Good luck!

      @@PeakMotorcycles Thanks for the reply. I already use Enduristan 4H tank bag and I'm not going back to anything else. Yes the zippers needs lubing and stiff but that's ok. The only issue I heard frequently about this backpack is the shoulder strap folds at the top end when adjusting and doesn't stay behind in the compartment. Quite a few videos comments says that. If that's not an issue I'm sold. I'm from India and I'll give it a try at the store. Also we ride in extreme sunny and hot conditions and the backpacks blocks the mesh ventilation of the jacket. But I guess that's unavoidable. Thanks.

    I just received a Hurricane 15l. Good finishes and capacity, but very worried about the zippers. They are very difficult to open and close. To the point of being afraid of breaking them. Does it improve with silicone? I haven't wanted to try, because if it doesn't work I will return it. THKS!!!!

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  3 місяці тому +1

      They do get better with silicone, but I find I have to reapply it every few months. If it helps, I've been using mine for a couple of years now and they do loosen up a bit anyway and so far I haven't broken them. I also have a Mosko Moto Wildcat 12 backpack. The zips are much easier to open, but it's not waterproof, so I have to unclip/clip the drybag each time. I tend to use the Enduristan one for wet and muddy days, mostly in the UK, and the Mosko Moto one which I use in hot and dry places when I don't need the dry bag.

    Hey 👋 Andre, good to see you. Very cool video, actually been thinking about one of those for a while. You know what they say if you feel thirsty you're dehydrated already.
    And with summer or warmer temps and you got all your gear on going for any kind of a lengthy ride you're sweating constantly.
    Dehydration is the leading cause of daytime headaches. And as you mentioned cramps muscle aches.
    At first I thought, wonder if I can get some ice and some Coca-Cola in there it would likely end up being pretty flat and nasty pretty quick LOL.
    I like the idea of that embroidered patch with the velcro I think I'll be getting something like that just to throw a patch on my arm once in awhile change it up. Say, one with Honda and one Canada flag. 🇨🇦
    I already have a place for the medical emergency and contact information.
    That pocket/ zip pouch I bought for that cost about $500, it came with a Klim high visibility Induction jacket.
    Look forward to some more rides with you on the Honda Rally.
    Have you done any videos explaining the tech you use for video vloging on the bike?
    I think a lot of people like myself wonder where to start and what equipment is good to buy, Gopro or whatever.
    Take care keep the rubber side down.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 роки тому

      Thanks Wayne, and yes, I’m warmer conditions staying hydrated make a big difference. I also find that I do better with a sip every few minutes instead of a lot every half hour. It looks like it’s pretty easy to clean, so perhaps you’d get away with a coke?
      I haven’t done any vlogging setup videos yet, but I’ll put them on the list. Quick gear lists are:
      Garage - Canon EOS 5D Mk IV on a SmallRig. Rode Go 2 mics, GoPro hero 10 black for around the bike pics. Also 2xNeewer LED panels.
      On the bike. Hero 10 on my chin with the mic adapter and a Sena mic, 2 x Hero 7’s.
      For the ‘talking at the camera’, videos, it’s an EOS M5 with a teleprompter with the Rode go mic.

    i really wanted to love this bag but the shoulder straps are really frustrating and pull out of the pack when you pick it up.

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 роки тому

      Oh. Mine doesn’t I know what you mean about how they fit and could come out, but the upper straps on mine keep them in place with velcro and they haven’t moved since I’ve been using it. I just had another look at mine and can’t see how they’d come out… I’m now trying to work out if I’ve missed something or just set mine up differently….

    • @Simon-df2ku

      @@PeakMotorcycles I’ve had my pack for years so maybe they have updated it? There isn’t any Velcro on mine, I ended up sewing the shoulder straps to the webbing which means they aren’t adjustable any morel. So there is Velcro inside where the bladder sits that holds the straps in place?

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 роки тому +1

      I think the badge is text only I’m afraid. But it is just velcro, so you could always get another made up if needed. Not sure where you are located, but if in the UK, I’m sure I can sort out a discount.

      @@watzitproductions5459 hi, apologies, I just saw this (for some reason YT only notifies me on first comments. Updates do come via email, but there tends to be a lot of them!) Great to catch up at the ABR, and yes, I can do a weekend ride out now that the summer holidays are over. Trying to do that during the summer holidays is less ideal due to the traffic volume on the weekends. Also a lot of the Magellan customers seem to be more available during the week. I can’t imagine why! 😁

    That’s a very nice small hydration pack.
    Enduristan certainly has a great design template for all their products.
    Do they make a tank bag for the CRF Rally?

    • @PeakMotorcycles
      @PeakMotorcycles  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Allen, the problem with the Rally is that there’s not much room on the top of the tank. If you’re only sitting, then you’d get away with a bigger one, but as soon as you stand it’d get in the way. They do make a small one, a Sandstorm 4X which fits on the tank quite nicely. I have one for mine, but don’t use it that often.

    • @0HARE
      @0HARE 2 роки тому

      @@PeakMotorcycles Yes, the tank on the CRF Rally is a bit intrusive compared to my old KLR.
      I’ll check out that Sandstorm 4X.
      Thanks for the tip.
