There is already a disused trackbed running to Thamesmead pretty much from the point where the Elizabeth Line surfaces. The cheapest way of getting tracks to Thamesmead would be to reinstate it. No tunnelling required.

The former track bed comes off from the Down Sidings which are not directly connected to the Elizabeth line and it would need tunneling to access plus some of it was only 18inch gauge track which is no use for the standard gauge Elizabeth line.

I don't get why TFL wouldn't serve Creekmouth (less than 10 minute walk from the Overground extension) on their way to Thamesmead from Beckton and Gallions Reach. Could connect 3 different parts of London that currently have no connection with each other then. The east of London towards the Dartford Crossing needs a lot more crossings, especially ones that allow rail crossings. The Dartford Crossing fails too often and building just more roads won't solve the problem.

Because it is in walking distance also Creekmouth is planned as part of a different extension to the DLR.

Thamesmead is empty 😂 I’ve been there a couple of times.
