At one point in time, this car was someone’s pride & joy. I rescued a 2003 Buick Century, and while it’s not a Benz, I was glad to bring it back to life and restore it to its dignity. 21 years old and now only 51K miles. It literally was ready for the junk heap. Restored the interior, paint correction, and had to pay my mechanic to bring everything up to date. So glad I did as it’s become my daily driver.

I had one of these in black with tan interior. Best car I’ve ever owned. Extremely fast and way ahead of its time with the specifications it had. I miss that car
The biggest mistake the channel owner made was that he started the engine after years of stopping. Everything was damaged, especially the oil and fuel, and this causes problems for the engine over time, knowing that this mistake should not be made by a professional in his field.
@@issamrassoul1832 Se dopo la partenza, cambi subito l'olio del motore, acqua, candele, olio del cambio e differenziale, non credo che si possa aver fatto danno nella sola messa in moto, e lo spostamento di qualche metro. Please, one very important detail is to unclog the water drain plugs from the sun roof as well as on the rear (there's a rubber hose running behind the back passenger wheel) and the front hood. They will 100% be clogged and you don't want water sitting inside them after such good restoration. Edit: Forgot to mention why I say this: whenever u see that much mold in a car then clogged drain plugs are 99% the main cause.
one thing I know, never try to even turn on an engine on when a car is abandoned for a long time. untill you change the oil and check few stuff, it isn't okay to do so.
This was my last company leasing car for 4 Years which I bought finally after I went into retirement. I drove it until 300000 km and then I sold it. The car is very spacy and also reliable in deed. After I bought an EV from Hyundai to reduce overall running cost. Diesel is very expensive in Germany. About 1,7 US$ per liter. Silver was also my favorit colour.
Sometimes its not just a car, it remembers people of good happy days, and also money they can earn for this car in this condition, aren't money for them at all. A man who bought it new for 70.000 $ wouldn't be happy earning 500$ for it now, he thinks "id better leave it in my barn", and that's how these stories are born.

I love old car carpeting. Looks new after its cleaned up because of how plush it is. New cars come with cheap velco like carpeting that is impossivle to vacuum. Car manufacturers think we don't notice. But us detailers definetly do notice.
The first error you made was that you did not allow the air suspension to fill up,why are you so much in such a hurry. That was the reason why such a big vehicle had difficulty climbing the car trailer.
It hurts your soul how some asses let such a beautiful car rot, hopefully the thing will end up in good hands, it will soon be a sought-after classic, especially when you see what rubbish Mercedes is building today, otherwise respectable work guys. Greetings from Germany from a two-time 211 owner.
Who leaves a car like this to rot away? Are they rich people who just go on to the next Mercedes? These old E-classes were wonderful cars. A Friend of mine had this shape E 270cdi sedan. It was a DREAM to drive!!!
The W211 is a nice car, I had a E320 from 2005 with a lot of options it was just soo nice! The only bad thing with these are the SBC system and when the Air Matic system goes bad.. The 500 4-Matic is something you dont see everyday!
Spectacular detail! Good for you! The only thing I disagree with and would caution you against is sanding the headlights. They were in good shape and not yellowed at all but by sanding them, you destroyed the protective coating that Mercedes treats their headlights with. They will now yellow within a year. I suggest putting ppf on them and replacing it every 3-4 years.
My 2003 W220/S55 had been in storage for a year, but the engine wouldn't start even if I cranked it. There was no gasoline supplied. However, when this car is left outdoors, the engine starts just by connecting the battery...

In the U.S., Mercedes-Benz extended the warranty to 25 years (unlimited mileage) for the SBC braking system, so it's no problem for E-Class, S-Class, CLS-Class, SL-Class, Maybach, and SLR McLaren customers here. There were a number of NHTSA Recall Service Campaigns and DTBs/TSBs that addressed some of the issues early on (e.g., installing the newer double pulsation damper hose, replacing the older SBC pump unit with a later revision, etc.), so most of the cars still on the road in the U.S. with the SBC braking system (assuming that the owners were smart enough to read the letters sent to them in the mail from Mercedes-Benz USA...), including mine, perform very well (my 160,000 mile car's SBC system, which functions properly, has better braking performance than the brakes on my much newer, lower-mileage, perfectly-maintained Mercedes-Benz I own...). When the actuation limit is reached and/or the expensive SBC ABS pump needs to be replaced, the dealership takes care of this replacement (parts and labor) for free for 25 years with unlimited mileage in the United States, as I had stated earlier.
