    Good shout, I've got a can of cleaner and not once have i remembered to take it to a project lol. On the subject of cap cleaning about 20 years ago my mate got it into his head that caps could be cleaned by slow boiling in a pan of water, still don't know for sure because the pot was left and forgotten about and we returned to find 20 ish melted caps in a very dry pan.....and so the crew CCC was born, Can't Cook Caps. XD

      “Cooking caps” would be a hard name. 😂 it’s one of those cans i always bring with me now. They don’t make the Ghettoblaster caps from ironlak anymore so I have to make sure I take care of the ones I do have.

    Great application better than soaking in mineral spirits and wiring out.
    Since you deal with lots of caps, you are aware of the different types and sizes, especially the entry hole.
    How do you adapt for the variations when using one size Acetone cleaner? Thank you.

    Just a heads up, you can’t get it in California due to Prop 65, but the alternative is buy a fillable spray can (youcanfill) brand and fill it with acetone with 40psi of Pressure with a bike pump.

    How long would the acetone last?

    I wonder if an ultrasonic cleaner would work for cap cleaning. Just thinking out loud as an alternate.

    Does doing this when yr finished using one colour, mean that you don’t have to do the upside down spraying? Cos that really hurts my hands

    • @iamdetour
      @iamdetour  Рік тому +1

      I do this sometimes between colors but mostly after i get done

    If you want to save money just buy some acetone from the hardware store, leave the caps soaking in a bowl of it overnight.
