For this type of transmission, a strainer-type filter is used with spaces only to catch broken parts that can be cleaned and reused but if it must be checked, the most serious thing is that the oil must be drained with a pump and then refilled and the level checked. The maximum that can be extracted is approximately 6 liters of the total, which is 7.1 L. In addition to all this, the original Hyundai or KIA oil must be used, which is HYUNDAI XTEER ATF SP4.
The manual says, 7.1 liters. Since there are still oil left after draining, I put 5 liters of atf sp lV in mine. I was surprised to see that you only put 4 liters.
Changing just a transmission fluid only doesn't do much good because you failed to replace the filter. Like changing the oil without changing the oil filter. Many people, shops & even dealerships don't know where the transmission filter is located at.
Transmission filters last awhile though. Not sure about Hyundai, but Honda filters are good for ~120k miles, so you’re not going to be changing them much

Start the engine and open the overflow screw and check the oil level

It’s a “lifetime” oil but the manual states change every 50k miles on “normal” driving conditions

Hyundai have a screen for a “filter” there non serviceable just drain and fill the atf
@@drew5992 2005 has filter that you can replace that even some dealers & many shops do not know.
