Her performance in 1987 was mind blowing!
Kui Yuanyuan was hardly a floor specialist, her beamw as exquisite and she outright deserved the beam Gold in 1997...Andrea Raducan was the Olympic All-Around Champion in 2000 and placed 5th and 3rd in the AA at the 1999 & 2001 Worlds, obviously a GREAT all-Around gymnast, hardly a flor specialist like Sacramone or Feng Che. Raducan also won GOLD on beam in 2001 after a Silver in 1999, as well as a bronze on Beam in 2001, as well as her Silver medal on vault at the Olympics...Mukhina was the All-Around and Floor Gold medalist as well as Bars and Beam silver medalist...THAT is not a "Specialist", they are floor MEDALISTS, not SPECIALISTS...specialists include Sacramone, Ponor, Chusovitina.
I know Kim Zmeskal won the gold on floor in '92, but didn't she also win the bronze at the '91 worlds on floor?

I would love to see nowadays gymnasts doing Omelianchik, Boginskaya or Khorkina routines. Most of them now can't dance to save their lives. Sometimes I don't even know why they are playing music.

Agreed. Today it is all about difficulty and keeping up with the code of points which is understandable, but without the graceful dance elements, it's just a small show.

what is absolutely crazy is that in the 80's the floor was not better than a carpet and they already performed very difficult acrobatics, those gymnasts from the old Soviet Union were really incredible!!!!

Idk if I missed her, but I'm surprised Dominique Dawes wasn't on here. She has one of my favorite floor routines of all time and I thought she had a gold medal floor routine
She has a bronze in the Olympics but at World she only has medals on Bars and Beam (2)
Kathy Johnson always performed floor with beauty and grace. Shame she wasn’t ranked here.

Or you don’t the meaning of art. It’s not “ballet gymnastics”, dance is one an extra because everything this gymnasts are doing is art
