- In this speedrun episode, I tackle a common scenario that leaves many club players stumped - the c4-c5 push! My opponent makes this familiar move, a classic mistake often encountered at the club level. But don’t worry - there’s no reason to fear it! In this video, I break down the strategic ideas and plans that allow Black to confidently handle this push, turning it into an advantage rather than a problem. Watch as I demonstrate how to respond smoothly and effectively, guiding you through a solid defense and leading to a clean victory. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of how to respond to c4-c5 and secure comfortable positions in your own games. Enjoy the journey to better chess!
Thanks for shouting out the sale on your courses. Been waiting to pick up the CPRs for a while! Great stuff as always
I’m glad your goat didn’t eat your cabbage.
Helpful learnings as usual!❤
I wonder who Hungarian was to first utter that cabbage saying? It was probably based on a real situation and he had know idea that the saying would flow through the ages let alone to this chess video.
You make it look so easy… perhaps you could have a word or two with ‘Hanging Pawns’ and help him out!
It is easy, it's an auto reaction to attack something for 1200s. Even the last move, attack a rook.
When andras attacks pieces, it is done to improve his position or weaken his opponents. Not attack just to attack.
9:52 ...Nxc3; Bxc3 Be4 skewers R & Q.
yep!:)
@@ChessCoachAndras It was interesting that not being a crass materialist yielded a bigger jackpot faster.
You explain your games very well.
Had purchased Chess Principles Reloaded - Center. Just bought the other two on sale. That should keep me busy over the holidays.
10:06 why did you take on g5 instead of nxc3 bxc3 be4 winning a rook?
@@paulius2107 was busy talking nonsense 😂
I had the same question. It was an obvious candidate with a simple follow-up.
At 5:12 what about Qc7 to prepare e5 it seems more principled to me than Bh5 as we develop a new piece with Qc7
Yes, I like your idea a lot!
In Romanian the expression is "you reconciled the goat and the cabbage" 🙂
You made mention of 'breaking symmetry'. Can you elaborate?
after cxd5 the pawn structure remains symmetrical. exd5 breaks the symmetry - making it a more fun position to play.
exd5 is leading to the famous 'Carlsbad' structure which is extremely rich (give it a search on UA-cam, lots of great stuff!)
@ChessCoachAndras ~Thank you. Follow your posts carefully. I will start some of you Chessable courses soon.
Looks a bit like a Caro Kan to start?
Go speedrun! Could you play a KID, Grünfeld later on?
Let’s go to 2300!!!
The seasons don't fear the C4 push
Nor do the wind, the sun, or the rain
We can be like they are
