2014 Honda Forza 300 - Givi V47 Monokey Top Case Installation

- I'm in Huai Ket (Taphan Hin district) Phichit Thailand installing a Givi V47 Top Case with Givi M5 mounting plate on a 2014 Honda Forza (NSS300).
*UPDATE* - I mispoke in the video, the Givi M5 mounting bracket DOES NOT come with the Givi V47 topcase. The V47 topcase, M5 bracket and the GT1 steel plate were all sold separately. The top plate kit is part number SR1123 MONOKEY REAR RACK.

Not sure you can purchase the Givi mounting kit in the US, but found this one that might work. I would confirm with seller before purchasing:
I did find that Givi sells a complete mount kit for the Forza (years 2013-2016 I believe) item SR1123 which includes a mounting bracket and mounting plate and hardware. I found it on Revzilla website:

Hey, good stuff. I have a 2016 red Honda Forza scooter. It came with a 40 liter monokey top case, but I took that case off and put it on my 2022 Honda pcx 150 scooter. I'm going to buy the same 47 liter monokey top case for my Honda forza 300 scooter.....so my question to you is....if my 150 Honda can hold a 40 liter top case, do you think my Honda 300 scooter can hold a 47 liter???
Need your opinion/advice.
@@johnholman3200 - Yes for sure. I have the 47 liter top case on this black Honda Forza and it's been on for the last 8 years without any issue. This case also acts a back rest for the passenger, definitely recommend it!
You know what is so cool about this Givi, you can still use your saddlebags, (top and sides). Potentially you have some serious travel storage on the Forza....Excellent.
@Viscus Dribble - Yes, agreed! These Forza's are made for long adventure trips. Hope to make another one soon! 👍
I just bought a Givi mount for myself for Christmas and watched your excellent video again to install the mounting kit. After installation, I will be able to “share” the top box from my Bonneville with the Forza. Extremely useful and well made. Next I have to figure out how to replace the seat support (very annoying and unHonda like).
@Jeffrey Hurst - Thanks for the comment and for watching…again! Yea, I can pack in quite a few things into that top case. We had a lot of shopping to do recently for Christmas and I packed quite a bit in there, including a case of beer (cans). And I agree 100% on that seat support, it didn’t take long for that piston to become useless. Seems that Honda wanted to feather the effort to open with staying open and didn’t take into account the number of cycles that lift piston would have to endure to stay effective. Sounds like a good video to make. Thanks again!
Got the bracket, just ordered the case. Thanks!
Did it fit well?
Thanks for the info, I did order it from that site.
How did it work out?
Thank you ! Very useful .
You bet, glad you liked it!
sweet thanks for the video 😃
Thank you!
I brought my Forza 4 years ago, today started the to register it , it only has 192 miles on it!
Wow, still a baby!
HI, I enjoyed your video and I'm moving to north Thailand and checking out what kind of transportation would be best...the 300 Forza is showing up a lot, you seem happy with the Forza...on the road and in traffic?
Bruce Nolan - yes absolutely. Great scooter, handles well, good gas mileage, easy to work on, easily cruises at 60 mph, no complaints at all. I had a couple of small issues covered under warranty, so overall great experience!
Great video, very helpful. Can you post a link to where the GT1 plate can be purchased? I have the M5 mounting bracket and the case but Givi and everyone else seem to want me to buy the whole set again.
I could not find the GT1 plate outside of Thailand. In the USA you can purchase the complete mounting kit with both adapter plates, Givi item# SR1123. giviusa.com/my-motorcycle/honda/forza-300-13/sr1123-monokey-rear-rack-detail
Hello, I have a question what stops any thief from loose the washers and take the top case away with all the mount at the same time?
The top case is locked onto the mounting plate with a key. They would need to loosen the nuts from underneath the mounting plate, which is not easily accessible. It can be done, but it would take a lot of time. You could also ry to go to a larger bolt size and thread them in from the top.
any chance you know the product number for the metal rack with the 4 stand off ? I can't seem to find it . thanks
@davk90 - Is this it? Which year Hinda Forza do you have? Try this link: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0263/7053/9606/files/SR1123.pdf?2354
Hi man, I am thinking about getting this topcase for my motorcycle, but I would like to ask you a few things. Has this topcase gotten lose? Cause I have the shad sh39 and now it makes a lot of noise, and how much weight is this topcase capable to carry? If you can help me with that would be great man, thanks
Sorry for my delay! The top case does make some noise when going over bumps, but it never came loose or off the base. I checked the fitment and it doesn't show much wear. I did have to tighten up the base screws a little. That might become an issue at some time. I will probably put some Loctitie on the screws.
how to change the rear brake light bulb?? thank you
@juliangalvan8602 - Hello - you have several steps to get to the rear brake light. I will try to make a video this week, unfortunately it is not a simple job! I will let you know when the video is ready.
I started following you when I got a 2016 Forza and was looking to learn. I had no idea you were in Thailand until IO had watched several vids. I also live in Thailand. Where did you get the case? Cool stuff fella. Thanks.jim
@jim grif - Thanks for the comment! My wife is from Thailand, but we live in the US (Michigan). We get to Thailand a couple times a year when the world is semi-normal. Where are you in Thailand?
@@zooskifilms My wife and I have a home in the Fang district up north but we stay with the kids in Hot (or Hod) to take care of the grandkids. I lived in Pentwater, MI way back when but I'm a Texan. I sure appreciate your ever so helpful vids. I've ridden big bikes stateside for most of my adult life but this Forza will serve nicely here. I didn't ride here for most of the 14 years I've been here because I react the opposite of what I should in a tight spot.
Again, thanks for your help.
jim
@@jimgrif5998 - Got it. Enjoy Thailand, perhaps we'll cross paths there some day! Ride safe.
I have a 2017 125 Forza. Im pretty sure its built on the same frame as the 300. I also have a v47 that came from my previous ride. Im wondering if the v47 is too big or ideally suited to the 125.
@Mick Evans - I really like the V47 on the 300 Forza. If the 125 is on the same frame it should work just fine. But I can't see it on a 125 Wave or smaller frame scooter. Let us know how it fits if you move forward with the install. Cheers!🍺🍻
Hi! Is it possible to fit into this case jacket (textile) together with fullface helmet? I'm thinking about buying V47 but I'm affraid that it might be too small...
silver007 - I think so. It states you can fit two full faced helmets. I only have one here with me and it fits quite easily with lots more room to fit a jacket. Send me your email address and I'll send you a photo so you can see for yourself.
I think I'm already convinced :) Thanks for info!
By the way, I still have my Forza now in Arizona, the storage is great
Where's the odometer at?
Do you think that the 47 liter is to big for the Forza? I’ve been eyeing this case but the forums seem to say stick to 40 or under. The Forza is not a small scoot through. Thanks for the opinion.
@Motobc - Thanks for watching and for the question. And my apologies for the delay in responding back. Just got back from a three week trip to Thailand where this black Forza and I spent a lot of time together! I would actually say that the 47 liter is perfect for the Forza. I was using it quite a bit to carry back food and other goods, very handy to have if you use it! Anything smaller would be frustrating. I would almost prefer something a little bigger. The only thing is that the case does rattle a little when taking off from a stop. Rattles less when something is inside. It's a little annoying but completely forgotten when put to use. We also took day long trips and riding at speeds up to 120 kph (~70mph) and was never an issue. The large case actually provides some nice back support when riding two up. So I guess it depends on how much you use it. Good luck!
@@zooskifilms Thanks! Just received the Forza mounting rack so I’ll be ordering this case shortly. Even though I can get my full face helmet under the seat all the way forward it’s a bit of pain to slide it all the way down to the front area. Top case just easier access for quick trips and since I haven’t fixed my seat lifter to keep it open kind of a pain. Temporarily using a cut down broom stick but works.
Hi, where did you purchase the mounting plate?
@guido albergs - Hi, I purchased the mounting plate at a motorcycle shop in Bangkok Thailand back in 2016, installed it in 2017. I can find the name of that shop if you're interested, let me know. Cheers!
Do you know if this will, fit a Honda Forza 125 - 2018 model?
Paul Garwood - I don’t. You should be able to find out comparability on the GIVI website.
monokey means if youhave a pair as panniers, you need only 1 key for both boxes..not turning the key to lock and release the box..
Thanks for the correction!
@@zooskifilms actually you were correct in your description of the monokey system. According to the Givi website, the monokey system means one key will open the case and allow the removal of the case from the mount.
@@jeffreyhurst9552 - Thanks for clarifying. I assumed it might mean something different in different places or by different manufacturers.
I like them forza 300 I have Honda pcx 150 I was looking for a tank bag ,,,I have that top case I came with the bike
Nice, I like the PCX as well, that was my original choice!
Where can you get the mounting plate in the U.S.?
Amazon mate
Looks like I mispoke in the video, the M5 plastic mounting bracket for the V47 is not included with the V47 topcase. The steel mounting plate that connects to the Forza is a GT1 plate we purchased in Thailand. I am not sure you can find it in the USA. I did find that Givi sells a complete mount kit for the Forza (years 2013-2016 I believe) item SR1123 which includes a mounting bracket and mounting plate and hardware. I found it on Revzilla website: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-sr1123-sr1123mm-top-case-rack-honda-forza-300-2013-2016
You're 100% correct. I have the same scoot as you and topbox. I even saw your video on the trickle battery charge mod and installed one myself, your videos helped me heaps. Keep up the great work mate! Brendan From Aus!
Thanks, appreciate the feedback. UA-cam community has saved my arse many o'times, good to pay it forward, and happy to hear it is helpful. Cheers!
Steve Dutcher - I believe Revzilla, you'll have to read the description closely, the photo shows the top case but it's really the mounting kit. You'll also have to choose the mono lock or mono key mounting kit from the drop down: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-sr1123-sr1123mm-top-case-rack-honda-forza-300-2013-2016
Does that have a light kit
ROSE A Desjarlais - no it doesn’t. Only the red reflectors, but the do not illuminate.
Have you done anything to your wife’s bike? I got the same one and am interested to see the mods.
ChambaProductions - not much in the way of mods on the CBF. Just mirrors. Was looking at a new exhaust. But her cousin rolled the bike and then we had to replace some of the fairings.
Thank you so much!!
In Taiwan, we will say :
"You are very good people, wish you always have toilet paper on the toilet."
Thanks for the comments, I completely understand, and would only add that having a plunger next to the toilet would make it a perfect scenario! Thanks again!
