We Belgians , as is KDB himself , are always amused about all the false or exaggerated garbage that is being told about his history , mainly outside Belgium.
His family basically abandoned him but when he became successful and had made good money they want him back in their lives. Which just goes to show you about family trust. Do they want you for you as a person or what you can provide for them because you're successful.

The depth in our midfield is so fragile... De Bruyne would start over ANYONE, even Fabinho (CDM, I know) or Thiago! Fingers crossed Klopp will look for a more direct midfielder this summer (hopefully a Gerrard fanboi who shoots from distance), since defence (Konate) and attack (Diaz) has been strengthened already!
His work ethic and determination reminds me of Michael Jordan . Money didn't make either of them complacent. They wanted to win and put everything into it.
KDB is one of the best midfielders of all time, in my opinion. Hearing his story (i didn't knew shit apart from the Cortouis situation) just made me respect him even more. He could have just given up, but he powered through, and became one of the defining players of his generation. Inspiring stuff.

Seeing KDB's style and demeanor, reminded me of old school footballers. His warrior-like mentality, that is so rare in modern footballers, shocked me. Like I'd said, he is quite old school. It's rare seeing footballers who treat the game like a battlefield nowadays. Hell, even David Beckham was a beast. For those of us who saw Becks play, we remember a warrior, not a supermodel. Dude put on a war face and was out for blood.
What a compelling story. Soccer was my first love of ALL loves. It was my passion, so I can totally relate to his quest. Soccer was the one thing I excelled at. It seriously took my brain away from the abuse I was receiving at home. Three times I injured my knee severely starting In tenth grade and subsequently two more times and finally had to forgo soccer once and for all. Knee replacement on Thursday 9, June 2022. I’m actually looking forward to it. I’m tired of the pain. I had never heard of this soccer player. Glad I turned on UA-cam tonight before I go to bed.
I'm from Belgium. So i can confirm, he is the best player in the world... The passes he gives... OUT OFF THIS WORLD! So sometimes, when he delivers a stunning pas, i just started crying. I love him. #17 #ManCity #TheBestOffTheWorld #🖤💛❤️. #💙.
Power, Vision, Touch, Drive, the complete midfielder. I can watch him play all day long. I'm a long standing Everton fan and he's like seeing Alan Ball, Colin Harvey and Howard Kendall in one body and with a lot more to spare.
Coming from a former foster child, I can completely understand where KDB is in pain. But mine was people who made me miserable at school who are now on benefits and I'm working at a fast food restaurant and on a decent wage. Never mind his success, he's kept that pain close to his heart and reminded himself of all the hardships he's gone through and it made him more of a better person. I might not like he's a Liverpool fan who plays against us, but he shows so much respect for everyone around him
An artist who can change the match at any time! He's the best creator I've ever seen! He's master a true master without him City is nothing! A man who fought against his owns and yet he's the one who always come up with big numbers! No matter what if he scores or not he's the best! On his day he's the greatest player and yeah comparable to Great Messi! He's a mixture of Modric and kross Xavi and Iniesta! He's the assist king but the way he helped his team mates is just of another level sometimes I feel like he's impeccable m exaggerating now lol but yeah he's the best I've ever love! Cr7 and LM10 gives me motivation and this man gives me peace'. There's many more players out there i like but this 3 are the top ones for me! I bet the optimism he has no one in the history of football had that!
Pep screwed up when he replaced him vs Real Madrid. He is not particularly a shouting leader - type, but Im sure teammates feel more comfortable when he is on the pitch.
@@crunchjohn261 that was the clutch decision but gone wrong in the end bruh! Yeah pep didn't have to call up both Maharez and de bruyne at that time! But he was assured that city gonna win that! It was just a bad phase and a great game play of Real!
I've never heard of a foster family ditching a child for being too quiet. Extremely quiet kids need the most stability and take the most time to trust. It's absolutely disgusting that they did that to him.
Kevin De Bruyne is one of the greatest players of this Generation. De Bruyne feeding Erling Haaland is gonna terrify the Premier League the moment Haaland settles in the league.
You forgot to mention the tragady of the late junior Malanda, he was also a big Belgium talent and good friend (probably that friend who made him connect with his wife). Both played togheter at wolfsburg. Malanda died in 2015 in a car crash while on the way to pick Kevin up at the airport.
@@alanm185 Yeah, it was for a training camp, but they had to go to club first and Malanda was supposed to pick up KDB (not at the airport, just at his home) but he never came...
As an American, I don’t know much about soccer(Internationally aka Football) but this story is impressive. This kid was dedicated at a formative age, leaving his birth family to live with strangers in order to play at the highest levels at each stage of his life. Then he used the rejection of the strangers, and the later betrayal of his feckless girlfriend to eventually further fuel his motivation to excel. Next he develops an appreciation for a true, loyal partner only to experience staggering personal helplessness because of her suffering in giving birth to his child. Nevertheless he overcomes to build a solid loving family, all the while using these blows to motivate him to become the absolute best player he can be. Love it. Great story of perseverance.
As a Werder Bremen supporter I still regret they let him go. What a person! What a player! What a character! I wish all the best for him in the future.
That's like all Bundesliga clubs though, Hamburg sold Heung Min Son, Vincent Kompany, Nigel De Jong, Rafael Van Der Vaart, Boateng etc. The Bundesliga sucks arse. Munich will win the title ever year from now until the year 3000.
He is the heart of the Belgian Red Devils, the CPU, the brain. Without him we're nothing. I want to see him one day raising the cup and celebrating a major win for his motherland 🏆 We are so proud of him, in his good and in his bad times 🇧🇪
a complete player even after going through such situations is so humble. Everything except for football turned their backs against him& he still made it to the top of the game.
He’s the main man at Man City and he’s in a team full of amazing players but if you watch one game from last season watch Man City v Newcastle utd kev de bruyne ran the game and some of his passing and running at the Newcastle players was mesmerising, there’s also a few other games like when he scored 5 goals but that day we needed to win and he just bossed it..
De Bruyne has never been on my team. He's been the nail in the coffin for a few of my teams. Lots of games went wrong because of how much skill and talent he has. All that said, I can't help but respect and root for him in a way. He's paid his dues and clearly loves the game. I hope first and foremost he's in a better place and happy in life. I'm sure his talent has made many City fans and many Belgium fans incredibly happy over the years.

"Saddest story"... LOL - these were not even 'First World problems' they were so trivial compared to the poverty, discrimination, ill-health, family tragedy, escaping from conflict and refugee status etc.faced by numerous other people including football players. Maradona came from the poorest slums, was literally kicked-out of the 1982 World Cup by opposing players hacking at him and, even when he went to Naples, the Juve and other clubs' fans would chant mocking the Neopolitans as cholera-stricken scum. Edouard Mendy had been unemployed and thinking of taking up a job as a clothes shop manager before returning to football with Rennes and Petr Cech recognizing his ability!
Saw him first at Bremen, then at Wolfsburg. Everyone always knew this is the next world star. 8:05 Since you talk about it, i have to say something about that He arrived in Bremen and was just a machine. Playing in a physically demanding side (IIRC) and just doing his assists like they were nobodies business. He had a workhorse mentality in a workhorse country, at a workhorse club. He was few in words and heavy on ambition. He had the greatest technical ability of the team and, in fact, of most of the Bundesliga. At 21. He was immediately compared to Diego (a legend at Werder Bremen/in the Bundesliga and a flop at Juventus). When he moved to Wolfburg he became worldclass, set a assist record that only was recently broken by Müller at Bayern and left for a huge sum and without chaos. You just cant say anything bad about his time in the league, hence we all were just impressed lol
I am from Drongen and each year there is an event named the Kevin Debruyne Cup wich is a football tournament for young players and you can meet Kevin himself there
As a Belgian, I am a huge fan of Kevin De Bruyne. Sure his style is less flamboyant than Eden Hazard, yet he is the best play maker. He can split the defense with one pass, while Hazard can dribble for two minutes and leave the stadium in awe but wouldn't have achieved much. I didn't know about the troubles he had as a youngster but this clearly made him as tough as he is today. Sure he has mad talent but it's the mental strength that creates world class players. Just like the GOAT CR7, he wants to win badly. He gets angry at his team mates if they don't give it their all. Which is why I love him: he is passionate about football and he has a great vision and superb technique.
Amazing story and amazingly presented too! Even the "like button" was excellent - short and fun. You have a gift buddy - I hope one day you'll become the DeBruyne of documentaries! :)

Now he is the best midfielder in the world. The things I would do to make this guy play for Liverpool.
I would say that Pedri and KDB are the two best this year
Joelinton

His work ethic and determination reminds me of Michael Jordan . Money didn't make either of them complacent. They wanted to win and put everything into it.
the only 2 small differences with MJ are: he is not a bully and he pass the ball

KDB is one of the best midfielders of all time, in my opinion. Hearing his story (i didn't knew shit apart from the Cortouis situation) just made me respect him even more. He could have just given up, but he powered through, and became one of the defining players of his generation. Inspiring stuff.
This story should be a staple read in schools it is a story of great resilience, and survival ......what an amazing young man ,from🇬🇧
Good on the lad for achieving after so much adversity. In my opinion he is the best all round player in our UK premiership. Underated big time. 👍
When he was only seven years old, he predicted already he would win the greatest trophies. And he added ''I m not doing it for anyone, even not for y parents but only for the joy to lift up those greatest trophies''
He's such a fighter and a inspiration to the game and life struggles
He's a regular guy
I don’t follow European football but I will pray for this young man. His story is compelling.
What football do you follow instead? European football is the highest level of this sport.
@@deviljho4260 I’m American so I follow American football. I know Europeans tend to be Eurocentric but the world doesn’t revolve around Europe. Just leave me alone. Go measure something in the metric system or start another world war. You boys are good at that.
Let's acknowledge the fact that "go measure something in the metric system" somehow sounds like an insult to some people.
@@Norhod See you can learn.
@@chairde You misunderstood what he said. When you say "I don't follow european football", what we understand is that you follow football (not american football, but soccer) but not the best level one. It would be like loving american football without following NFL.
God bless you, De Bruyne. You're an example to follow.
KDB will remain one of my favourite players,he’s just a treat to watch.Even if im a Liverpool fan,he’s still one of the greats in my opinion and as a fact
This is one of the craziest stories Ive ever watched but glad I did! A lot of inspiration to take from this vid just for life in general, let alone sports. Well made!
it’s a pure invention, he was never abandoned, he just went to play for a club around 80km from his home, she stayed at a local adresse !! this is defamation in its purest form
Better than any movie you can watch.
Deeply emotional.
He has ALWAYS been my favorite player. At Wolfsburg you could tell he was going to be amazing. Pure class.
I already saw it at Genk. To this day I haven’t seen a better player in the Belgian league, and I guess we will have to wait a tad longer. 😂
Kevin De Bruyne is my favourite player currently, I've been watching Manchester City long before his era but when he came he changed the club for the better, he became the best midfielder in modern football for more than half a decay, passing, dribbling, shooting, everything he does with perfection despite of his success he is a great and humble person, I simply love him!!!
My fifa 13 Chelsea reserve, weak foot 5 star long shot taker boi. That fact that you shone so 'late' in your career overcoming so many obstacles resonates with me deep within and for this I'll ever be grateful DB17 💙
You can see a difference in Tenacity in his eyes. He has a different presence to other players. Always a pleasure to watch you Kevin.
its like he represent us the normal guy/people in the highest level of football
@@rahmatputrasafira8674 well... thats a fact for sure... i worked with his dad in a steel factory before kevin was even known... greats from belgium :)
strong personality with footballer skills
He's one of the greatest in the game. Look him up
I'm from Belgium. So i can confirm, he is the best player in the world... The passes he gives... OUT OFF THIS WORLD! So sometimes, when he delivers a stunning pas, i just started crying. I love him. #17 #ManCity #TheBestOffTheWorld #🖤💛❤️. #💙.

Probably the NFL haha

Its okay if hes new atleast he watches the beautiful game

Power, Vision, Touch, Drive, the complete midfielder. I can watch him play all day long. I'm a long standing Everton fan and he's like seeing Alan Ball, Colin Harvey and Howard Kendall in one body and with a lot more to spare.

I'm a Man Utd supporter but think this guy's a Legend.
I might not like he's a Liverpool fan who plays against us, but he shows so much respect for everyone around him
Good job De Bruyne. Greatness has always been within you. Thanks for sharing his story
I was abandoned on the street by my stepmother when i was six years old. I spent most of my formative years in children's homes and Foster home.
aww what an amazing story I can see how that made him into the player he is today; his passing, his shooting and vision are all otherworldly
It was a tough road
I've never heard of a foster family ditching a child for being too quiet.
Extremely quiet kids need the most stability and take the most time to trust. It's absolutely disgusting that they did that to him.
Can you imagine that
when u watch some players, u know u r watching greatness. he is one the greats...simply incredible!! what a story...there's a movie in there.

I thought Malanda was going to catch a flight to a training camp in S. Africa?
Thats tragic. RIP
@@alanm185 Yeah, it was for a training camp, but they had to go to club first and Malanda was supposed to pick up KDB (not at the airport, just at his home) but he never came...
sad childhood to one of the best midfielders :)
Love it. Great story of perseverance.
there’s no correlation between being American and soccer knowledge im American and have tons of soccer knowledge
this is a perfect video for all those who have a difficult past. dont give up, no matter what. when you have a dream to achieve, only you matter
That pass to the far post that won him EPL. A legend

a complete player even after going through such situations is so humble.
One of the best midfielders in the world for sure. The best player in PL right now along with Mane and Salah.
Saddest story I have listened to, well done on turning your life around Kevin, go further faster and keep lifting others on the way
"Saddest story"...
Such a tough start but just gave him more determination and he made it work for him. Outstanding!
I told you before, I tell you again, you're doing a great job!
Thank you for all these amazing documentaries!
Well done!

Remember when they called him the £54m flop.....now look at him best midfielder in the world. KDB 👑💙
Saw him first at Bremen, then at Wolfsburg.
Everyone always knew this is the next world star.

Since you talk about it, i have to say something about that
He arrived in Bremen and was just a machine.
