I binged the 1st season over one day. I never felt any redundancy with the encounters, because it's all part of character development, like her training arc, completely unguided by any master, that would've been too convenient for something set in what seems to be a realist setting where masters just don't find their pupil just because "it's time". Pacing imo is not a hard and fast rule, you can't have everything paced the same way, that would be redundant. I found it really refreshing, and every encounter was a unique experience, because of the uniqueness of each spirit and situation, it was designed in a way that we very rarely see these days in any mainstream media, for instance the giant one in her house, the one in the clothes shop, the one in the supermarket, and especially the one in the bus. However, I totally agree with you on the ecchi stuff, it is really not my thing, and i felt off about it whenever it made an appearance. Thankfully the show doesn't rely too much on that. Mainly for me the emotional moments with characters that aren't even the main characters that are so powerful that you tear up is definitely proof that this is an awesome story. "4631"
