- So sorry for the small/sideways video - one of my first ever uploads 🙄🐉
The Dragon Scale (or "crackle") effect can be a tricky one to master.
I watched lots of tutorials by other resin creators, abd then went on to try out literally dozens of different recipes until I found the one that works the best for me.
Results aren't guranteed every time - you will have to practice & may find other quantities that work better for you. If you do, please comment so we can learn together!

As a newbee to reson art, I have watched tutorial videos from dozens of artists, but this one had been the most precise and easy to follow. A great help 💯
Love seeing craft videos by left handed people! So helpful for me. Please don't apologize for being a leftie.
Thanks for giving us the weight measurements. I always have a problem with that. Especially not mixing enough. Beautiful colours and tutorial.
I think the video was perfect and appreciate all the suggestions those who don’t like them maybe shouldn’t watch! Scraping is part of doing resin!!!
I have done a similar process before and almost the same effect as well. I put mostly clear in the mold, then I poured golden green mica around the edge, then I puddle poured golden blue mica, then pearl white mica, then clear. The result was a thin golden green border that didn't crack, then the blue took over the rest but a clear center. The blue goes from big crackles around the outer edge to smaller ones around the center. I did this in a round 7" mold and I'm adding a wedding photo to it with a wild flower U shape around that. I also put the name at the top in Let's Resin gold paint pen and the date at the bottom with the same gold paint pen. I used my Cricut to make the stencils for that using clear sticker paper and I used white backed water slick paper to do the photo and wild flowers. I will dome over all of that and I will add saw tooth wall hangers on the back.
I love this tutorial! I'm going to do this as the bottom layer of a crystal coaster. I already poured the crystal raised edge. This should look awesome! I'm thinking of using peacock colors. Oh, I'm also a lefty.
Keep practicing and you might even find a different effect ❤️🐉
Did I miss the demould! Would have liked to see how they turned out 🙂
Hi Josie - thanks for watching. Yes, there is a demould video on my channel:

More coming soon!
Amazing ❤❤
Me too! ❌
I wish they would put the full video together instead of separating the best part!
@@bexj4205 Hi Bex, sorry about that - this was one of my first videos.
I have now started to put them all together as it makes much more sense! 🙄
Thanks for watching. 🐉
Thank you for this most comprehensive video ❤
You are so welcome! 🐉😀
I don’t mind seeing all the scraping and what not. I show it to make sure that people know and understand that it’s important to get all the resin out of the cup when making your resin pieces. Also, I post a separate video with the unmolding as sometimes I don’t have time posting them together. So I like having them separate just fine. This is your channel, and you can do whatever you want on it. I like it either way! I love the video as it is. Thank you for the walkthrough.
You’ve inspired me to try this tomorrow!
Thank you for sharing the link to see the unmolding. They turned out beautiful! Keep up the good work!🎉
Beautifullll. Thank you
Thank you!!! Lov it
From another lefty, you are doing great!😊 You're dragon scales are awesome! Thank you for sharing the recipe!
Thank you, very new to making videos will be posting more ❤
Beautiful thank you for your guidance x
Can I ask what that beautiful light blue pigment is? It almost looks like a ghost blue? 🤩
Hello “Rebellious”!
I think the mica powder colours you are referring to is either:
Iridescent green/ghost green or JEMESI Tail green.
Colours might not be accurately reflected in the video.
Hope this helps! 🐉
Brilliant step by step tutorial Sue, having failed so many times with this effect I will definitely try this recipe! Thanks for sharing. Can I ask which resin you use? 😊
Thanks for your kind words!
I use Jdiction resin mainly. 🐉
These are beautiful. I just saw the reveal video and they turned out stunning. Can I ask where you bought your mica powder from? That teal is my perfect shade.
Hello Deborah the mica is jemesi tail green from Amazon 😀
@@Dragon-Creations Aww that's great thank you 😊.
what does the other side look like?
I did enjoy this video and I do enjoy your tutorials. But I didn't like was you didn't show the product at the end LOL what the heck?😊😅😅❤
Was going to watch this but as I read the comments and saw that you didn’t show the demoulding so I’m bailing out.
I would also recommend that you edit your videos to speed them up at times.
Good luck, bye!
Thanks for commmenting Susan - this was one of my first uploads, I now edit to include the demoulding & also add chapters so you can skip ahead.
I hope you stop by again & checkout some of my other videos. 🐉Bye!
How long did you let the resin sit before starting to pour each color?
Hello I didn’t leave it to sit it was mix and then pour and each colour was poured straight away 😀🐉
Well it would have been nice to see if it worked or not . Damn it anyhow!
Hi Linda, this was one of my first tutorials & the reveal was loaded as a separate video - rookie mistake! 🐉
You can see the finished result here if you want:
ua-cam.com/video/crG8vkXLhA4/v-deo.html
Quite disappointing not to see final result 😢
Really wish you showed demolding. We watched whole video - let us see results! Success or not, we learn
Hi AJ - the “big reveal” is uploaded as a separate video:
Dragon Scales....Big Reveal!
ua-cam.com/video/crG8vkXLhA4/v-deo.html
That was very anti climatic. Had i known i wouldnt see the final product i would have sat here watching the whole time. Disappointed
Hello it was one of my first videos and didn’t do a reveille as it was for technique ask for by facebook if you watch others I do demould and show the finished product 😀🐉
@@Dragon-Creations I understand. it was great otherwise. will be tuning in again
Watched the whole video and no unmolding? Didn't need to know the measurements four times. I wished you edited out the scraping, scraping, scraping just for one drop of resin. Not trying to be mean. Just my suggestions.
Hi Remner,
This was one of my first videos - I am still learning about UA-cam editing as well as resin techniques!
The reveal video was uploaded separately - not ideal, but you can see it here if you want:
ua-cam.com/video/crG8vkXLhA4/v-deo.html
All comments welcome - good and bad!🐉
