Me and my sister used to gallop around the living room on our imaginary horses through the opening credits, 1980, then sat quietly, watching repeats on TV in Bahrain. Thanks for taking me back there, and kudos for the great AV quality.
Same! If you haven't seen it I would recommend "Zorro's Fighting Legion". It's a 12 part serial from 1939 and is my favorite adaptation of Zorro. I used to watch it on my grandparents VHS growing up. It *is* on UA-cam.

Clayton Moore, Roy Rodgers, and even Chuck Connors as _The Rifleman_ all played fantastic Heroes and Role Models for us kids in the 50's & 60's, with upstanding morals & ethics. Thank you for uploading the series, I never got to see it growing up even though Western shows like Bonanza and Davey Crockett were quite popular here in Egypt and I've always wanted to watch the Lone Ranger.
A friend from Peru said he and his friends watched this show at a little theater when he was growing up, but they only cheered when the Indians shot the white men!😂

He was the original announcer during the initial seasons. Missing is the middle transition featuring the waving waves of grain {representing the sponsor, General Mills}, where he stated: "We pause now in our exciting adventure for a message of interest and importance! The story will continue in just a moment......"
I've seen a few different versions of the Lone Ranger, including that disappointing lackluster one with Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp, but Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels are the OG and the GOAT.
So, presumably most children spotted the major flaw in the storyline when this came out? The traitor climbed the ridge with no water. The Lone Ranger and Tonto were "...several days..." beside the spring with water, and food. Since humans can only last 3 days without water, how was the traitor in any condition to try to ambush them and steal Scout after those same "several days" without water (and wounded?)???

This episode is going on 72 years old. Broadcast in 1949. Still as good today as it was back then. How does he recover after only three days?
Christopher Phillips..... cos he was the Lone Ranger ! Too much to do, so little time. 😉☺️☺️
Because he was a Texas Ranger before he was the Lone Ranger 😉
The real answer is because it was in the script!
Because of Tonto. If it were not for him showing up to care for, and doctor the Lone Ranger back to a full recovery, his grave wouldn't be empty.

Originally telecast on September 15, 1949. The first three episodes were "serialized", so that the Ranger's origin story could be retold in full.
Still 10x better than that awful Disney remake with Johnny Depp
Yeah they ruin the character Zack Snyder should've been the one who directed this film

You could just watch "The Ghost of Zorro". It's a 12 part serial starring Clayton Moore as the grandson of the original Zorro. It's on UA-cam.
George Lewis was the scout Collins, the same George Lewis who would be the father of Zorro in 1957, eight years later.
I watch this with my granddad
Collins, who later somehow survived his fall, dug himself out of a grave and had a son who grew up to be Zorro.
And also would fight against Batman and Captain America during the 1940s.
The actor who played Collins, George J. Lewis, also played opposite another Zorro, played by Clayton Moore, in the serial "The Ghost of Zorro". You can find the all 12 parts on UA-cam.

Why was he ever called the LONE Ranger, when he ALWAYS had somebody with him?
Because, he was the last remaining ranger.
@@dmm3124 Last does not mean lone. He a;ways had someone with him.
For crying out loud. He was the Lone (Surviving) Ranger of the 6 in the ambush. He was the Lone Ranger not the Alone Ranger.
