*I was back home for 25 minutes, age 11. Wells Fargo was on our TV on bath night, Saturday. My younger brother and I got a glucose stick from mom and if dad was not at weekend overtime work, all of us got to watch Jim Hardy. I think mom must have liked Dale Robertson. This video worked magic on me. I wish I could stay back there for a while longer.*

Interesting piece of trivia. The horse Dale rides in the show is his own. His name is Jubilee and Dale rode him all through the series. Dale had a large quarterhorse breeding ranch in Oklahoma. At one point he had 235 horses with five champion breeding mares. Jubilee was also a star in over 200 other shows and also traveled to rodeos and events and let children take rides on his back.

It was a common practice to use the same actor for different characters on the same show all the way into the 1970s. An example is Buck Taylor who was killed during his first appearance on Gunsmoke, but then he later became the regular character Newly O'Brien.

Hollywood took a little licence here. But in Big Springs, NE two great envents happened in it's history, first when it was a "Hell on Wheels" when the railroad went through and the second when Sam Bass robbed the train there. There is an historical marker telling of the robbery.
