Welcome to the video series "WW2 Bunker Build" here on the WWII History & Reenacting UA-cam channel. This is a very interesting, educational and fun project. We are building a typical German wooden bunker from the second world war using original drawings and correct materials. This particular construction is not supposed to be under ground, but was a special type used in marsh lands or areas with shallow bedrock - typical for Finland etc. Follow us as we put in the hard work, and watch the build from start to finish - link to the complete playlist below.

Welcome to the "WWII History & Reenacting" UA-cam channel!
The main focus of this channel is primarily military history, mainly within the second world war (WW2) timeframe. The channel features various content, such as videos on metal detecting, magnet fishing, exploring and visiting historical sites, collecting militaria, reenactment, restoration etc. I'm a WW2 reenactor/living history enthusiast and many of my videos feature tutorials, kit reviews, reenactment footage and information about the hobby. I mainly portray the German side within the timeframe. Collecting militaria is a huge part of my life. Unboxing videos, collectible presentations, and collecting tips, as well as metal detecting and relic hunting are also typical videos on the channel.
This channel is strictly non-political and my videos are meant to be fun, educational, and informative
Enjoy!

Bravo! It is wonderful to hear that Edvard Grieg has blessed your enterprise! I notice that the German company Festo (now Festool) developed the chainsaw after 1933. I wonder what might have been different had chainsaws been a developed part of the Wehrmacht toolkit! You have inspired such an alternative meditation. I cannot wait to see the final bunker!
Thank you so much Sir! 😊 I actually believe that chainsaws (at least a two handed variant) was issued with some pioneer units, and probably others as well. Perhaps also aqquierd locally by some units 🤔 I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the video! Best regards from Norway 😊
Another amazing video guys! Remember to stay safe and keep a Med kit and Fire extinguisher at the ready. I'll be cheering you on!
Thank you so much! 😊 Yes, that's great advice for anyone working in the wood or even at home! We keep Med-kits and tourniquets on hand every time! Best regards from Norway 😊
Very impressive work.
Your group most certainly knows what they are doing.
Can't wait to see the results. 👍💪
Thank you Kevin! 😊😊

it would be cool to see communication trenches off the back and sides eventually too
We absolutely have some feature plans for the surrounding area! 😎😊👍
Great to see you guys back at it hopefully you will get the bunker finished this year 🇳🇿🥃🥃👍🏻
Thank you Sir! 😊 This is the year - I hope! 😅😊 Well, we will do our best! 😎
excellent
Thank you! 😊
Awesome video as always
Thank you! 😊😊😊
Very great video it’s coming along very well hopefully you could finish it before the end of the year and I couldn’t believe you cut those lines so straight in the door frame with a chain saw 😊
Thank you! 😊 Yes, this has to be the year! We are putting in the effort this year trying to get it done this summer! 😊
YES!❤
❤️❤️
This is so cool, your chainsaw skills are incredible.
Thank you! 😊😊
Very good job.
Tank you! 😊
Finnaly a bunker video, its almost that i hopenyounnwver finish, rhen ther will be an eternal production of bunker videos 😅❤
Haha thank you I really appreciate that! 😊❤️ Even though, I really hope we will finish the build some day 😅
Keep up the great work 😃
Thank you! 😊😊
Very good looking! Are you going to Protect it with earth, Stones and Moss?
Thank you! 😊 This particular bunker variant was designed to be above ground where conditions would not allow for digging due to shallow bedrock, swamps, etc. It's probably more like a blockhouse in a way in that sense. Due to the structure being above ground it called fore double walls, ideally with stone and sand in between the two layers of timber. We have "cheated" by only making one double wall (in the front), and simulating double walls on the sides with "false" walls 😊 best regards from Norway 😊
great video ! glad to see you uploading more
Thank you! 😊😊
Imagine doing this without power tools
We did once before (almost entirely), and its definitely hard work 😅 there is a video on my channel somewhere on our first bunker build 😊
Hi, really great video🔥 It was actually you who got me to reenacting😅 And just a question if I’m reenacting a Slovak in the SS should I use the Slowakei volunteer shield? Because I’m not quite sure if it was used by Slovak volunteers. The only photos I found in the books or internet was not showing their left arm so I couldn’t see it.
Thank you! 😊 Wow, that's awesome! I'm glad you found your way into the hobby! 🤩 Oh, that's a tough question as I'm not familiar with this units uniforms! I could not find many photos either 🤔 Any reenactment groups portraying this unit you could reach out too? But, I would say that you don't need the volunteer shield, as not having one is probably just as accurate! I'm sorry I could not give you a a propper definitive answer on the matter - but I hope it helps! Best regards from Norway! 😊
Been watching for a while! May have been mentioned in a past video, but where can we find the blueprints (if possible) for this design?
The blueprints are in the German handbook on Field Constructions and fortifications from 1944 😊

Could have done it all with period tools 😂
We built one before with period tools - hard work 😅
The Germans often used chainsaws to build fortifications in WWII. The WWII chainsaws were large, two-person chainsaws.
@@Swindondruid2 Thats right 😊👍
