I love this song. With the problems in the world today I wish someone would re-do this with some modernized lyrics since I feel a lot of us have forgotten how important it is to respect not just those we know but everyone we encounter and all life forms including animals and plants. With lots of, I'm going to use your favorite word here, 'Practice' I no longer panic at barre chords but I've got a long way to go before I can master that strumming. I've always hummed the melody first to help me remember the strumming. I often record myself on the tablet for reference. If I don't then when I try to play the song a couple days later I've forgotten which strum pattern I used. I'm not forgetful it's just at my age my hard drive (brain) is filled with a lot of useless info. :-)

I try the cords even if they are hard to play,only way to learn them , doesnt bother me it they are alittle sloppy at first . i get it sonner or later.

Dear Erich, I have a little brother who's 13 years old, he loves pop punk and emo music and for Christmas he's wishing for an acoustic guitar, I've been watching your videos and learning some teaching techniques because when I get out of college I want to be a private music instructor and teach people how to hop on the instrument and start playing and that's what I'm planning on doing for my brother. I've been playing since I was in middle school at 14 years old. Do you have any advice for future private music instructors Charles

Yes, Aretha Frankling- The Queen of Soul!! My parents favorite besides Etta James...have to play some of these soul songs for my mom, who passed last year....and for my dad, of course! When we grew up we had two black cats, and we named one Aretha, and one Franklin....because my parents loved her so much! :)

But having read what I've been reading and knowing what I know now, I knew you and your videos were not something I should ignore. I knew The Universe had responded to my desire to learn and dropped the answer to the question I had not yet even asked right into my lap. And I was delighted! I was thinking, the other day, that I really need to save for an acoustic guitar. But, with Christmas here, money tight, tax and medical bills hanging over my head, a house in need of repairs and a new roof, and a car with electrical issues, that wasn't going to be easy. But a friend of mine was telling me, if I look around, I can get a decent acoustic for somewhere in the ballpark of $300 - maybe a used one. I love this song. With the problems in the world today I wish someone would re-do this with some modernized lyrics since I feel a lot of us have forgotten how important it is to respect not just those we know but everyone we encounter and all life forms including animals and plants.
With lots of, I'm going to use your favorite word here, 'Practice' I no longer panic at barre chords but I've got a long way to go before I can master that strumming. I've always hummed the melody first to help me remember the strumming. I often record myself on the tablet for reference. If I don't then when I try to play the song a couple days later I've forgotten which strum pattern I used. I'm not forgetful it's just at my age my hard drive (brain) is filled with a lot of useless info. :-)

I have a little brother who's 13 years old, he loves pop punk and emo music and for Christmas he's wishing for an acoustic guitar, I've been watching your videos and learning some teaching techniques because when I get out of college I want to be a private music instructor and teach people how to hop on the instrument and start playing and that's what I'm planning on doing for my brother. I've been playing since I was in middle school at 14 years old. Do you have any advice for future private music instructors

Yes, Aretha Frankling- The Queen of Soul!! My parents favorite besides Etta James...have to play some of these soul songs for my mom, who passed last year....and for my dad, of course! When we grew up we had two black cats, and we named one Aretha, and one Franklin....because my parents loved her so much! :)

I had been yearning to play guitar again, for some time. But, more importantly, I wanted to get much better at it than where I was when I left off. I turned to the materials I had but they no longer excited me nor held my interest. Oddly enough, I wasn't looking for an online guitar instructor (I was watching Puddles Pity Party videos), when I found you. But having read what I've been reading and knowing what I know now, I knew you and your videos were not something I should ignore. I knew The Universe had responded to my desire to learn and dropped the answer to the question I had not yet even asked right into my lap. And I was delighted!
I was thinking, the other day, that I really need to save for an acoustic guitar. But, with Christmas here, money tight, tax and medical bills hanging over my head, a house in need of repairs and a new roof, and a car with electrical issues, that wasn't going to be easy. But a friend of mine was telling me, if I look around, I can get a decent acoustic for somewhere in the ballpark of $300 - maybe a used one. Now, here you are again - this time, holding a guitar giveaway. Isn't life something else?
I'm not assuming anything. But I can't help but notice the synchronicity. And that alone makes me feel good because I know I'm on the right track.
