    That bridge-around-the-neck hack to hold up saddle is very clever. You're the only YT'r that has demonstrated this trick, thanks for that

      Thanks so much for the kind words. I use it every single time I walk in to hunt. For some reason my saddle tends to slide down a bit, but this does the trick. Have a great day

    Hey, KUDOS to the linemans belt over the shoulders to act as a DIY Suspender System for the saddle!! That is an awesome option to utilize.

      Made a big difference for me, so much better when walking in to the tree. Happy hunting 🤙🤙

      Glad to hear that it helped. I used this method on my sit in the woods today, works like a charm… always good to save a little $ before Xmas 😉

    Cool tip on how to use the orange tie to hold the stick. Definitely appreciate the tip on how to turn your lineman rope into suspenders.

      👍 it can be a little annoying if you hike in far, but anything under a mile or so, I just do it that way. Good luck this hunting season, hope you get a big one 🤙

    I’m using a Badlands SuperDay pack and 4 sticks is pretty cumbersome with the platform on the back! Definitely wish I would have gone with a full sized hiking pack instead. Thanks so much for this video.

      I had a smaller pack to begin with, and quickly realized how much nicer it would be to have something like the 2200. I’ve used it for day hunts in Wyoming too, and never had an issue with it being uncomfortable and always have enough space. Glad you enjoyed the video. Little windy sound to it. But it was all the time I had to record it 🤙

    I understand the height reason for video but I have hawk steps I use with millennium 100u I leave straps attached. I swing the buckle around tree more weight can catch on first swing. Good video I’m going to attach me some aiders. I can get 17ft out of 4 should easily get over 20 with aiders.

      Thanks - I have since added a little weight to the strap, and it has helped with swinging it around the tree. With my aiders I tested the other day, and without too much stretch I can get to 23ft, which is plenty for the areas I hunt. And, I could added a little lengthy to my aiders, but I like it to be fairly simple to get up and down since that mainly happens in the dark,
      I’m likely going daisy chain or might try one sticking it next season.. always something new to learn 😁

    What’s the height you can get out of three? I have the longer ones in a three pack. I’m thinking I’m getting around fifteen feet with three and no aiders.

    • @hufius
      @hufius  6 місяців тому

      With 3 without aiders I usually get up around 13ft, if I add aiders I’ll get to 16-17ft with 3 and 20-22 (depending on how much clothing I have to wear) with 4..

      That’s 100% sure the plan for next season. But with a new bow, platform, saddle setup, western hunting trips and a few other things- my hunting budget has been used for the year. Thank god it’s a new year soon 😜

    I wish these saddle guys would make videos showing them climbing a gnarly tree with lots of limbs. Every saddle climbing video on UA-cam is a telephone pole looking tree. If I’m gonna hunt a tree with no limbs I might as well take my LW Hand Climber and be up the tree in 60 seconds.

    • @hufius
      @hufius  3 роки тому +1

      I can make you a video like that. This video was more for showing how to store your sticks on the way up in the tree. I mainly like my sticks and saddle, as I can pack it in my backpack and hike in as far as I want. I don’t think it’s faster than any other methods.
      I had to escape the wisconsin cold for a week, but will try to do a video climbing a gnarly tree when I get back. 🤙

    I can be up a climber in 2

      I use a climber too now and then. But you ain’t going up a crazy pine tree in a climber… I use climber, saddle and regular tree stand, all depends on the situation.

    Your video would've been more informative if you would've actually made the climb. What you demonstrated is likely to make someone wonder whether your method is actually worthwhile. You attach two sticks and held one against the tree, and, didn't seem to be 8 feet up. Half tail videos aren't very instructional and aren't up to par. Why not perform the actual method and leave the viewer satisfied, thus, thinking that you know what you're talking about?

    • @hufius
      @hufius  3 роки тому

      This was more to show how to easy attach your sticks as I had a guy ask how I do it. Sorry that it upset you so much - I hope you continue to have a wonderful evening 🤙

      @@hufius you have it wrong. I enjoyed your videos. You are well spoken and articulate concisely. I was only saying: if you go in depth about how you perform your method, it's more informative. The reason I checked your video out was because how you titled it: (THE FASTEST AND EASIEST WAY). After seeing that, that's what I wanted to see. Can you understand where I'm coming from? There are hundreds of videos of people talking about something, but, only going though the motions. You say you've only been doing this for a couple of years. So, I'm sure you've viewed tons of videos. Which ones did you prefer? The complete methods, or, just someone talking about what they do. I've been bow hunting for 45 years, and I've used many methods to get up a tree;climbing stands being my favorite. However, three years ago, I got interested in 1 sticking. When I looked for a video, I only wanted to view those with the entire climb and rappel. You should look into 1 sticking, by the way. It's much easier than hanging sticks. So, again, I liked your video.

      @@jimste5898 I will quickly apologize then. My bad. And yes, I see where you are coming from. I appreciate you watching, and again, sorry for my slightly “nice / pretend nice!” Comment!! I’ll take you constructive criticism and try to do better on the next one.
      One sticking is definitely something I have been considering - I like packing in deep, so would be nice with an even lighter pack.
      👍
