    I like before watching because I know it's going to be a good video. Other channels I watch, that have a concrete floor, patio, sidewalk, etc, poured without blocks holding the wire up, they commenters get all upset, lol. I explain like you do, that once you pull the wire up and the stone gets under it, it stays put and it'll be ok, but they continue arguing, so I end up referring them to your channel. Great work, thumbs up and Happy 4th to you and everyone !

It was a complete new experience and I am for 90% happy with the result. During the process I have though a lot of your lessons. All your video’s which have watched have helped me a million! Thanks!! Alabama here. I’ve never seen a woman on a concrete crew but I’m all for it. Good for her! I’ve poured one 12 by 16 slab and it came out ok but not as smooth as I would’ve liked. Yours are the best concrete tutorials on UA-cam by far. Keep up the good work. BTW I thought you were Canadian at first . Nothing wrong with Canadians.

    Mike, I was in building and remodeling and did a bunch of concrete. For years I had one or two women on the crew and I tell you it is a help because they have an eye for what needs to be attended to. Most of our construction was in the building and that is where it made the most difference. John in Pensacola

    I am from Oregon! Learned a lot from your videos. I found your video on sealing stamped concrete especially useful, I just sealed it again last weekend. I am an engineer by day and do construction work on the side for fun; Last year I built my first house and a friend helped me pour about 1,500 sf of colored/stamped concrete so he showed me how to finish. This year I got a deal on a ton of concrete tools and metal stakes that I couldn't pass up so i have a couple small jobs lined out this summer! Thanks for the videos! Nice to see that everything my buddy showed me is in line with what you guys do!

    Bonjour, Mike. Watching this from south of France. We have outdoor space on which I would like to try building my own shed-like structure on a cement pad. I am going to try to do it alone. I think I'm strong enough and tenacious enough, but not sure what I would do if it goes awry (other than call in my husband's French masonry guys). I just want to know what I can actually do. I've had this idea for a very long time. My other idea was to set plots and lay it on a metal frame. I'll keep watching, and see what I can take away from your video. Thanks - yes I like!!! your videos!!!!

    Very good job. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to put down 6 mil plastic. Concrete draws moisture, even when fully cured. Putting down plastic would give you a much dryer floor. It won’t eliminate condensation issues though in the spring.

  • @markwhite6782
    @markwhite6782 3 роки тому

    I'm having a patio poured in a few days. It was like pulling teeth to find someone to come do it and I don't know why. It's 26 X10 so I know it's not a major job. Always an excuse that it will be 2-3 more weeks waiting time. I thought maybe I could encourage them to come out so I shot the grade for my slope, set up the forms, hauled in all the sand, bought and set 1/2" rebar on 1&1/2 ft squares, tied it all in with wire, set all my expansion joints to grade next to the house to where all they have to do is show up and pour then smooth. It's just to much for an old man like me to do by myself so I had to hire someone with a crew and the expertise of floating it properly because I'm not experienced. Crossing my fingers they show up Monday, wish me luck.

    They really over designed that shed IMO. 4~5" packed base, 5~6" slab, 2x6 sill plates, so probably 2x6 framing. It'll really be a sturdy structure that'll last forever. Most driveway slabs around here in So Texas are barely 4~5 inches. Great video Mike, keep up the good work.
