From the video I see you measuring the AFR-values without the engine being driven on a rolling road. From your experience, how do the values differ from being measured when the car is revved up in neutral compared to driving it on the road under load?
As always, top service ! As it seems very important, what spark plug gaps should be set on a 1275cc carb (sprite engine) with NGK BPR6ES plugs? 35 thou as you mentioned?
Gday AC, been watching your videos re On the road tuning with ACDodd, how does one organise or book you for an on the road tune up session. I am in west London
Never File a swinging type su needle that’s a sure fire way too add problems down the line. Both cars here had there needles polished to adjust the fueling.
@@no66 always good to stay up to speed. Much more precise adjustments can be made when polishing. The also easier to narrow m down where an particular adjustment is needed.
Lovely little lathe at Dan’s place. Looks like it may be a South Bend. Jealous. 😉
I did like the machine myself!

At part throttle they don’t. You can’t do this for full power settings

If it’s fitted with the 65d dizzy and the correct coil then 0.035” is the correct setting
@@ACDodd yes, 65 DM4 recurved by you.
Thanks!

First car, needle swap or do you file the needle?

@@ACDodd Ah, so polishing removes enough material for adjustment? Interesting.
@@no66 yes sometime it’s a tenth of a thou or so that can make all the difference at part throttle. Filing is missing the point!
@@ACDodd Thank for the insight.
Think we filed a needle (fisxed) som 25 years ago. Just brushing up on new knowlage :-)
