    Great review. Just turned 20 hours on my Chinese 1.8. Definitely different than a machine from more traditional manufacturers.

    All these mini’s are basically built the same way. I have one that looks exactly like this one. I took off all my stickers and bought some CAT stickers so it would somewhat resemble theirs. I went online and bought a rubber floor mat with the diamond designs on it and used double sided carpet tape to fasten it to the metal and I got rid of the cheesy floor mat that came with the excavator. I also installed a radiator cooling fan inside by one of the vents to help draw out the heat.

      did the fan help? how big is it? does it drain out the battery? did you use the kill switch side or ignition side vent for fan? Thanks !

      @@mikecakma5425 The fan helps somewhat. It doesn’t draw out all the heat but some of it. It’s a 6 inch fan that attaches to the back of a radiator that I bought off Amazon. I attached it to the right side slots on the machine and the switch that goes to the light I used to power the fan since I’m not planning on digging at night.

    It has low profile grease fittings to keep from getting snapped off. You need a grease needle.
    I have the same model. My hydro hoses are routed a bit differently and have protective wrap already on them. I run my engine a little above idle, helps a ton with the heat and smoothness of operation. Only time I go full throttle is when I’m traveling. Odd about your hour meter, mine stops with the key and battery disconnect kills everything.

    Just posted a video to my channel of me running one of these little excavators with the TMK150 tree sheer. Crazy how productive these things can be.

    Pretty simple to change out the battery cutoff switch with a reliable one from harbor freight, plus harbor freight has a zerk fitting kit for $6.99.

    Good review. I was going to buy one. I went with a used kubota instead. After watching several getting hot and looking into commercial use of one. They kubota is bigger but still has difficulty digging in certain soils. I run equipment for a living. Looking to get out of working for someone and start my own business.

  • @bigken3057
    @bigken3057 Рік тому +1

    O'Rielly's has a 10pak of the small zert fittings for about $7. Also, you will find that the grease fitting on the bucket knuckle will hit the ground while in use. I floated the pin out of the cylinder and spun it 180 degrees which put the fitting on the inside of the knuckle which will protect it. You will also find that the ignition & battery shut off switches are not weather proof..You need to protect them and keep them dry.

    I have the identical machine different brand but the same. My concern is the heat like you mentioned. I'm thinking of adding a fan for the hydraulics. What's your thoughts??

    • @commonmanhomestead
      @commonmanhomestead  Рік тому +1

      I've also been thinking about a hydraulic oil cooler with fan groundhog sells one I think it will work out just fine. From my understanding agt is made by high top, I've also been told that groundhog machines are also made by high top I hope that helps. I'm planning to at the very least put a fan in the engine bay in December when I have more time

    Are the bolts bad to come loose on these. Or they was just never tightened?

    • @oldcutlas7806
      @oldcutlas7806 2 місяці тому

      any piece of heavy equipment will need the bolts tightened frequently, the vibrations of the machine causes them to vibrate loose

    I saw another video and there was an hour meter that attached to the spark plug so that it only logs when the engine is actually running I would check that hour meter out.

    I keep seeing that the engine oil is substandard and needs to be changed immediately. Perhaps the hydraulic fluid is the same low quality and needs to be changed out.

    How deep will these units dig?

  • @richscott2483
    @richscott2483 8 місяців тому

    The AGT QH12 has a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower engine that works the hydraulics and tracks. It is slow and bounces and vibrates and it is noisy. Depth is 5.4 feet but I recommend not to dig deeper than 2 1/2 to 3 feet for safety reasons. Parts are made in China. If taken care of and not abused and not left outdoors uncovered, it will last several years. You will need earplugs, hopefully you do not have back problems, this machine is not good if you have kidney problems. It takes nearly 2 hours to dig a 6 foot long and 2 1/2 foot deep trench. As mentioned it is not fast. It is not a child's toy and needs to be careful around objects because it is made of steel. Cost ranges from $6,000 to $8,000 New and Used is $4,000 to $5,000. If you paid more than $6,000 then you have been had.

      Now there that cheap when I bought mine in April of 23 if you could get a new one they were 8500 to 10000 I looked for almost 2 months before I found this used one did I over pay maybe os this little crapy machine faster than a shovel most definitely. Also better than a back hoe attachment on a John deer 1025 and cheaper to. One more thing it took me 7 hours to dig and bury 12 in culvert pipe 120ft long. 4 hours to do 8in culvert pipe 100 feet long. 12 hours to 4 trenches 12in wide 18in deep 450ft long its well worth what I paid for it

      I ain't promised anything!!! I can find part's all day long this machine is not for people who can't do there own work. You have to be mechanically inclined to own one. Also any mini excavator at this price point will have issues. Go buy a new kabota if you don't have the skills to work on things like this
