    US Army Infantryman (11B)
    Veteran rated at 90% here. This is why I stay away from the VA. I went for a rating increase before and they dropped my rating down to 80%.
    Literally a Doctor met with me for 15 minutes and Boom they just reduced it. I had a 30% For Migraine Headaches that went from 30%-0%
    I ended up getting it back but the paranoia is enough to keep me away.
    I was blown up Iraq in 2008 and have TBI and PTSD. It was a Pressure Plate IED and I was in a Armored Personal Carrier. The Blast was soo strong the Barrel of my Squad Automatic Weapon that was sitting between my legs was bent sideways. I received an Injury to my Ankle and Face. Later I discovered I am suffering from TBI as the Blast Shockwave effects the Human Brain and isn't fully understood. The PTSD is from both of my Deployments. The Iraq Explosion Injured my Brother. It shattered both his legs and his back. I remember he was quiet, in complete shock. My Team Leader yelled at me to check him for injuries. He had no Blood, then it's like he woke up and he started screaming in agony. I will never get his scream out of my Mind.
    11B Infantryman
    Diyala, Iraq 2008-2009
    Panjwai, Afghanistan 2011-2012
    Awarded a Combat Infantry Badge 22Nov08
    What also infuriates me as you get people who never seen combat who had some really easy job in the military and they are rated at 100% because they manipulated the system. Seriously it's extremely common and makes me sick. I had a rough Army Experience. I seen a lot of Death and Destruction. Which I carry to this day. The stigma alone has kept me from getting Jobs, and people treat me like I am a Domesticated Lion. Sure Domesticated but they never truly trust me. I have severe PTSD and yet a Guy who spent his service in a chow hall, no deployments, is pulling a 100% because he has some Back Pain from a Sports Injury out of Highschool (Yes that's a real Person).
    I believe they need to do an Automatic System for any Service member who is awarded a Combat Decoration. They should be Automatically given 100% PTSD Rating. Because the actual Number of Veterans who experienced actual Combat is less than 5% of all Veterans. They are the last People that need to be messed around with in VA Rating. You been Blown Up, Shot At, Carried Dead Bodies, Seen your Friends Die, AUTOMATIC 100% NO QUESTIONS ASKED. It should be Automatically applied as soon as the Service Member exits the Service. I think that alone would help reduce Veteran Suicide tenfold. As they no longer have to worry if they obtain employment after leaving the service. The Nation who sent them to Combat is not holding up their end.

      Unfortunately the VA will rate you at as low a percentage for PTSD/TBI as possible. I did not have near the experience you did, but watch two soldiers die in front of me in 2003. Waited ten years to put in a claim for PTSD, and got awarded 50%. Symptoms have not gotten any better with medication and numerous years of therapy, and most have actually gotten worse. When I filed for increase to 70%...denied of course. Basically I gathered that unless you don't shower for weeks, think about suicide daily, beat your wife and kids, and don't have a job then your chances of 70% don't exist. At least that has been my experience. Oh and TBI... I had a separate incident in 2008 where I lost consciousness on duty, fell out of a bar stool chair, gashed my head open on the concrete floor, and spent four days in the hospital. Claimed TBI a few years ago. My C&P exam was during COVID over the phone and was a complete joke. The lady asked very few questions and the session was over in less than 10 minutes. Decision letter came back stating I had not had any of the symptoms that I have been getting therapy for at the VA medical centers over many years!! They did grant me 0% because the injury occurred on duty, but having no symptoms?? Also, the fact that TBI is considered a mental health condition and you can't be rated separately for it along with a different mental health disorder is a complete joke!!

    I just had a C&P and was denied even though I have service connected DDD with Bilateral Sciatica. I even was in Pain driving an hour to the exam explained it to the examiner and yet still nothing. The VA has all of my medical records and can definitely see how many E.R visits and steroid shots I had to get just to deal with pain. I'm So tired of even dealing with them when it comes to anything anymore. Its damn near depressing having to fight with these ppl over what they know is causing me pain.

    I just submitted a claim for my back.
    I have L4-L5 and L5-S1 herniated both pinching my SI nerve causing pain radiating down to my toes every once in awhile but constantly just above the back of my knee. I have my LOD (line of duty) as well as my X-ray and MRI scans while I was in service for proof. And some secondary conditions stemming from this injury as well.
    Hoping for the best rating once I go in for an exam.

    Thanks for these great videos. I have had a back condition since 2007 & another finally another back condition granted in 2016 along with Tinnitus and some other conditions, total overall 60% rating. I have chronic insomnia diagnosed, should I pursue insomnia as a secondary to my back pain or Tinnitus? Does one have a better chance than the other of getting approved/granted?

    I just came back from my C&P exam for lower back pain. I was asked to bend over for range of motion. I couldn't without holding on to something like a counter or chair. Then the doctor told me to forget it, he won't need me to do that. Just bounced a hammer on my knees and pounded my lower back while sitting up. It hurt. Over time I started out at 10%, then got an increase to 40% for lower back pain back in 2019. My back pain has increased significantly since. I currently have a combined rating of 90% and have applied for TDIU. What is your take on the assessment? How will I be rated since I wasn't able to bend over at all?

    Questions .While I went to sick call several times for back pain,the military doctors took X-ray, they say the X-ray was negative but X-ray cannot detect nerve pain,and MRI technology did come around until I July 3,1977,I was in the Army from 1972-1974.The Army doctors gave me some pills for pain,everytime I went back on sick call.My visit on sick calls or document on my Military records

    Hello, very informative video. if my back was caused by a service-connected back injury and I was later diagnosed with radiculopathy, do I file for both a back pain VA disability claim and a separate nerve damage/condition disability from the radiculopathy in both right and left lower extremities? Or can I include all under a back pain disability claim? Thank you.

    can i claim for my backpain if i have never documented it? I have a video recorded event of me getting hurt and and E-7 and an E-8 was present to give their witness statements but I was on leave at that time. I left service shortly a year after but was too busy with everything to get it medically documented. I did however fracture my tailbone before this event in service and that is documented. Any advice?

    • @Mike_not23
      @Mike_not23 2 роки тому +2

      You can get “buddy statements” from anyone who witness the service related injury.
      Did you file a claim for your broken tailbone? If so, I’m sure you can do “back pain” as a secondary to your tailbone.

    • @majikk9123
      @majikk9123 2 роки тому

      Did you ever go to sick call during service and complain in any way? If you did locate copies of that. Also, you said you haven't complained about it in years so any rater will look at that like there's no evidence proving there's a significant problem to earn a rating. You have to go and make appointments for a paper trail showing the pain your in and don't leave nothing out.

      @@SayntPx I forgot to mention to fill out a lay statement (VA form 21-10210) from you explaining in detail how your injury has impacted your life from the service up until now. Also, get a lay statement from someone you served with or a family member that knows about your injury dating back from the time you served, discharged and now in the present. The statements really help paint a picture for the rater. Keep it short, detailed and don't leave anything out.
