Simply gorgeous. I moved from there was I was 18, it has been 42 years now since I was there, all I can say is WOW, it is outstanding, it was nice then but mercy, it is stunning now. I will have to return and visit it again. I did love it when I lived there.
sarasota is such a beautiful l place to live and relax, when i was little girl i lived down there with my whole family i loved there to collect seashells and do more stuff. i just thinking of a dream where i listen to relaxing music while riding my back when the sun sets in the ocean sinking in the salty waters.
Thank You for this video. I I'm moving to Sarasota the end of this year. I also been looking at fort Lauderdale but there's something pulling me towards Sarasota.
Waterlilly 1 we just got a bunch of food from there for my dads funeral. I like Here huge cinnamon rolls! Also I like der Dutchman which is near it it's a buffet!
Wow! What a beautiful place. My husband and I are looking to move from Lake Tahoe, but we are just not there yet because of the hurricanes. How bad is it in Sarasota? We are just scared of being on the run all the time because of them. Thank you for the very well done video!
mihaela roman I've lived in Sarasota for about 7 years now and we've never had a hurricane. There have been bad storms but not hurricane bad. But I can't speak for the future.
lol no hurricanes are certainly not an issue. Most hurricanes bypass Sarasota Bay due to the water temperature of the bay, so there is never a direct hit. There also has only been one recorded landfall of a hurricane in Florida over the past 10 years anyways. IN all reality, there really isn't too much to worry about from hurricanes. Its just wind and rain. Unless you have a beachfront property, there really isn't too much to be afraid of. Not to mention since its Florida, the infrastructure is designed to handle it a lot better, so things like Sandy or Katrina don't really happen since the Florida infrastructure is made for it. as for being "on the run", unless you live right on the water, the Florida gov actually advises AGAINST fleeing from hurricanes/storms, since it is actually more dangerous due to being out on wet roads in windy/bad conditions, not to mention, hurricanes are fickle and can turn at any time. its safer to just stay at home with a few candles should the power get knocked out.
I have to say seems to be potential with Sarasota, however after this video, I've never seen so many asphalt road-cracks outside of Syracuse, New York. I'm sorry but western Florida needs to use different types of formulated asphalt to preserve the beauty. I currently live on the south east coast of Florida and we have smooth consistency with twice the population.
small? no. social life? depending on what you like to do. There are several bars/nightclubs and night activities around, but its not a party town to say the least. Its a tourist town. Siesta Key/Lido Key are also hits. But its definitely not small. the actual city itself is smallish in land mass only, but most people live/work, outside of the city limits. the Metro area is almost at a 1 million people. Sarasota City is only like 14 sq miles.
There is a large % of the population that is older, particularly a lot of snowbirds that come down in the winter months. Most of them are retired. But, that being said, there is still a rather sizeable "younger" crowd than that. There are several universities in the area that attract a lot of young people. However, it isn't the largest job market for young professionals. But it is also a tourist town and a big spring break/winter break town for sure. So there is always generally a lot of young people around, depending on where you are. But it is growing rapidly, I heard by2030 or 2040 at the very latest, the population of Sarasota Metro will be 1 million people.
YES lived here my entire life, this video must have been on a sunday morning or something. The traffic is terrible sometimes. Especially when snowbirds come down here in the winter.
Are you independently wealthy or ok with working multiple jobs to scrape by? If so, Sarasota is a great town. If not then good luck. This town is not meant for the average middle class person to live in, it's for the rich and those who serve them.
r0ckpapersp0ck if you work in the medical field, you should easily find a job, since there are a lot of retirement homes 🤣 I agree with you though , it is not made for your average middle class
Everyone drives cars. That's how it is in most of America. Only in New York City and Washington, DC and Chicago and a few other places do you see people walking.
а что во ФЛориде на знаках стоп необязательно останавливаться? хотя с другой стороны, столько знаков, с ума сойти.... ясное дело надоест. eng: don't stop when stop In Florida on the road? (don't know Florida's law with it, sorry =))
THE RULES OF THE ROAD WHEN DRIVING IN SARASOTA Rule number one: Jews over one hundred years old driving Mercedes or Tesla ALWAYS have the right of way. NO EXCEPTIONS. Rule number two: Sarasota drivers will drive about 50-80% below the speed limit...until it starts pouring down rain, then they drive as fast as their car will go. Rule number three: The cars in Sarasota were built without turn signals. The only indication you may get that a lane change is about to occur, is if you see white hair moving in the driver’s seat, or grandpa typing frantically into his Garmin. Seriously? You need GPS to get from the Landings to Trader Jews? As soon as there is no room for a car between you and the car in front of you, they try to dart in (even though there is no traffic behind you for a half mile) and if you survive this stunt, they will promptly slam on the brakes and turn as soon as they are in front of you. Rule number four: NEVER use just one parking spot, no matter how small your car is. It’s best to take up 2 or 3 if possible. Rule number five: Stay the f*** away from Newtown, especially after 5pm when all of the residents get out of bed and start staggering to the Likra Stores. If you do end up in the area, and the light at Washington and MLK turns red GO RIGHT THROUGH IT …...if you stop you’re going to be carjacked. Rule number six: All of the old people live south of downtown, and their grandparents live in south county, and they all still drive like shit. Most are deaf and blind. The speed limit on Clark Road is 40mph, but traffic typically moves along at about 5mph.
