I got to visit for the first time this summer. It’s an absolutely incredible place. Grew up watching Drew’s joyride takeover and had been dreaming of that place ever since.

What a great place. Started going there when my son had a birthday party there when he was 7 and we have gone at least once every winter since then and he is 19 now. Always a good time to be had.

Combining Joyride, The Yard (Ottawa), and Le TAZ (Mtl) for a road trip would be so fun

It's easy to see where you aren't so take time to see where you are! Glad editing the footage gave you an opportunity to do that because from where I'm sitting you killed it!

This old man would have been in that building with my board and bike in the 70s but we made due and had fun riding with no hands over curbs and homemade jumps

You knows this, but you are too hard on yourself. You are an amazing rider and watching you progress is heart warming. Good job 👌

Same place you were trying flips into the pit a year or so back?
I thought you did great. Wore me out watching… looks kinda tough.

Great to know that you came to Toronto! or close to, next time you should come to Don Valley too. I am not even close to your skills and I only have my retro MTB, but it is cool to see you close to where I live.

Bad news: You're really close on those tailwhips. You can absolutely get them. Which isn't actually bad news but I always felt a lot of pressure when I knew there was a trick I could do and all I had to do was commit. So sometimes that good news of "you're completely capable of it" felt like bad news.
If you do that rotation with it below you rather than off to the side of you then you have it. Scary as fuck, for sure. I didn't ever get one (couldn't commit; my livelihood relied on not having limps or injured hands and I wasn't ever in a financial position to take the risk) so I can't hold it against anyone else who hasn't committed yet. You'll get 'em when you do.
Good news: Your endurance training program has inspired me to put a bunch more "just pedal a bunch" miles in. With a heavy assist from the unseasonably warm weather, I'm staring down the barrel of 170 miles this year already. Most of them pedaling towards a state park on my mtb (a Commencal Meta HT) and now a growing number on my fixed gear Swobo Sanchez as the surfaces start to be more predictable. That's going to go to a freewheel soon as I put the more comfortable side of the flipflop hub into action. I'm enjoying the last bit of time I get with it as a "no-choice-but-to-spin-constantly" fixed gear, though.
Even better news: Good to see you're back! I always worry when my somewhat niche interests disappear for a week or more. This UA-cam stuff is hard for everyone, especially when this channel is a full-on love letter to two-wheel machines rather than a risk-your-life-everyday brodown. It's easier to sell ego and heavy crashes and much harder to succeed in celebrating fun, positivity, and community. You're doing great (as much as I can tell looking at everything from the outside) and I'm super happy to watch your riding progress while your channel grows!

In Ohio there's a place called Ray's MTB park that's very similar. I'm fortunate to be only a 3 hour drive from it. It was even in a Rock and Road Fools episode I think.

Whew! That looked tough!!! It's easy to see it from the side and think it's easy, but when you go into first person with the chest cam, it's a whole other story. Do you think your smaller wheels were a detriment?
