You could make that argument, but I would take Bill Dooley. Most of Crum’s success came with Dooley‘s recruits. Dooley left the cupboard very full. And for those who don’t know Dooley left because of a falling out with the A.D. or administration. He built the only really tough, hard nosed program at UNC in my 60+ years of following and supporting Carolina football.
He never won a single ACC Championship in his tenure on the hill, there is no reason a pro coach would want to coach in the college game due to the game is in total free agency mode 100% of the time. College coaches are leaving the college game!

I don't mean too be rude n sound negative but like all other fans we seen this before firing coaches season not over n players starting decommitting before the firing n it's could get worse I'm just saying it's never a good time too fire a coach but with players starting too decommit n then decide too fire that's part of the reason for the decommitting because the players are uncertain of coach's future now the firing gives the reason that they have too move on what's best for them now remaining platers from what im hearing were waiting too see who n what the new coach plans for new players before they decide too what too do then players are there now might not be happy with the decision of firing could transfer my point is with this situation situation good or bad it could take a few years too straighten out the players personal on team
i was hoping coach brown would have finish his contract n have a chance at 300 wins he may never reach that i bieve thats one of the reasons he came back too achieve that goal at one of the best universities in the nation its shameful that coach legacy is tarnished now
