“All of this was possible because of tourism” Give the kid some credit, he’s the one who went out of his way to learn the languages they were speaking

@@arsticfortnite well yeah but that argument doesn't work as tourists will come, no matter what. The comment "credit to the tourists for allowing him to learn" is like comparing what's more unlikely: "him giving up and not learning" or "tourists stopping". It's not like tourists are one big hive mind that simultaneously decide to go somewhere

It dipendes because during the video it is said that he can speak in those 12 languages, but, you can't learn that much grammar or vocabulary only from listening to the tourists. I meam sure it's impressive that he learned 12 languages even if only some sentences, but from this to calling him the greatest of all polyglots there's a big difference. It also helps that when your at a younger age, i cant remember when exactly it stops, but you acquire languages as oppose to learning them which means you pick up on a lot more things like accent and tonal shifts a lot easier because your brain is hardwired to do so naturally to a certain age to help children communicate. This is why we dont need to teach thibgs like basic sentence structure and grammar to our children
