- In spite of the fact that Astro Bot has only ever been the star of a PS VR-exclusive game and a game that was really just a free pack-in tech demo, it’s a little surprising that the IP is as popular as it is with the PlayStation fanbase- but then again, maybe that also speaks to just how unbelievably good those two games have been.
Soon enough, however, Astro fans’ wishes are going to be fulfilled with a full- fledged console 3D platformer in the form of the recently announced Astro Bot. Set to launch exclusively for the PS5 this September, the platformer was recently revealed with a promising and packed trailer, and here, we’re going to go over all the biggest new details we’ve learned about it.

Agreed. Plain and simple. More of this, less of games like Concord. Live Service is just not it compared to the quality games like this provides. Will definitely be supporting this one.

My 7yo son loves gameplay and my stories about artifacts he found in game ((I laughed so hard when he wasn’t able imagine wired controller or that problem when I forgot my memory card at my friends house across whole town so I played days without my progress)) and I love the retro vibes, memories from easier times and gameplay too ofcourse. Day one buy for me. No matter of cost €€€. I would definitely pay more for Astrobot than for new COD, NHL, BF or Concord ((no hate. I like those games too but I don’t see any value in them anymore))

Astrobot Rescue Mission on PSVR 1 was some of the most fun I've ever had gaming. It is therefore is a crime Sony has not ported it to PSVR 2 yet! A worse crime is that they have not made this playable on PSVR 2. There is ZERO reason for this as the dualsense is not being tracked. Only the gyroscope and accelerometer is being used. This is a middle finger to everyone who spent 550 on a PSVR 2! Shame on you Sony! I pray they come to their senses!
Yep - pure lazyness and ignorance on Sonys behalf. They are not the guys anymore who brought a PSVR1 to life on a underpowered console, the ps4 and offered up2date the best VR games for so many people.....now they got the PS5 as backup, better Headset...and all they do is stick their finger in their noses.
It is mindblowing bad leadership and marketing.
I'll literally be boycotting all Sony products going forward. And I was a day one PS1 owner. Really annoyed by this.

I agree this would be an easy win and assist the struggling PSVR2. Seems like a no brainer but Sony has some leadership issues going on and wouldn’t except them to connect the dots. They still have handful of PSVR1 games that are sitting in limbo and waiting on PSVR2 conversion. The studios that own those titles say they are waiting on Sony to give them the green light. Frustrating.

I'm buying 2 copies of this game.
The secret after the boss is most likely Astros's crew members, like the Shadow of the Colossus. The official game description say they have been scattered across galaxies due to the influence of his alien rival. So it would make sense, seen as they said they'd be given a greater role. Just speculation though.

Astrobot on psvr gave me childlike joy like no other game has. I'm wondering if announcing ps5 flat screen first is a deliberate strategy by Sony to ensure the game gets maximum media coverage. We all know how little interest game sites give vr. I'd be very surprised if this didn't get a vr patch post release.

Also, if Rift Apart actually didn't sell well, don't blame the fans for not buying it. Blame the scalpers for buying up all the limited PS5 stock at launch for selfish purposes. Can't buy a new game if you don't have a console to play it on.
