- It's been 30 years since I last entered a competitive sprint at Goodwood but I reckoned the Jaguar Project 8 might be the perfect car to do it in. So a few weeks ago, I entered the GRRC Goodwood Spring Sprint in the over 2-litre road-going class. The race was last weekend and you can see how it got on here...

Agreed. An extremely well rounded gentleman, which is reflected in his presentation style and content. In all of my UA-cam subscriptions in diverse interests of food, bicycle road racing and training, art, architecture, music, etc, etc, Harry will always be one of my favourites. Harry brings happiness, contentment, enthusiasm and insightful knowledge all through the medium of automotive video journalism. He is a genuine, considerate, and kind individual. It’s hardly surprising he has such a following.

@@harrysgarage. That's a pretty good philosophy for life I reckon. I'm 64 and I've come back to motorcycles as my drug of choice for the last 5 years. I hoon about and tour on a KTM 890 duke, and ride about in a rather more leisurely way on a beautiful 2003 carbed Bonnie. Life is good.😁👍🏍️
The 205 gti running only a second behind Harry on Run 2 must have been seriously gunning it.
You are ahead of some pretty serious kit here, Harry! The Caterhams can't be dealt with in a normal car with back seats and airbags I think. And those Skyline's probably took their godzilla pills that morning. You had the RS6! Wll done! I'm impressed!

Harry, I simply love everything about this. The diversity of cars, from a NSU Prince to your jag Project 8. Everybody trying to have fun, buut the horns tends to grow through the helmet.

There is always that feeling of being there with you - you have a distinct and unique ability to bring us wherever you go - from a Silverstone auction, to a meeting in London, tSprint day at Goodwood to across the globe on two wheel or four. Its a testimony to what can be done with this platform. When you were told to take the helmet camera down, momentarily my heart sank, but of course, no compromise to the footage - ever the professional, another incredible in-car shot (Love onboard content - nothing takes us along better). Automotive content doesn’t get better than this - we are spoilt with wonderful content, long may your desire to make it continue.

Great video absolutely caught what the day was like! We were there in our MINI R53, which is actually my partners day car, true grassroots stuff!
I would urge anyone interested in doing motorsport to try sprints and hillclimbs. They are great fun and often, particularly in the case of hillclimbs, take place in historic and beautiful settings. The people who take part are friendly and will share their experiences and at the end of the day, there is beer to be had!
My favourite circuit, car marque and UA-cam channel all rolled into 30mins of petrol head nirvana. How lucky we are to have Mr Metcalf (and his farm of course) pop up in our notifications every week. God bless you Harry, you're a national treasure.

It’s shocking how calm and sedate things seemed inside the car when in comfort mode during your morning runs. Incredible soundtrack from the outside shots. Hope you bring us along on more of these events.

Kudos to Harry for still fitting into his race overalls from 30yrs ago!👍 I wish my one piece leathers from the early 90's still fitted😂. As good as the Project 8 and modded GTR's are I'll bet there's still much fun to be had hustling a classic like an Elan round there with no ABS, no modes, no traction control etc....👍😃

Fantastic sprint and commentary! Great run through of how one can approach this sort of event. I appreciated the shots of the old days with all the mud. As a kid going to Brands Hatch the mud was quite thick!

Really enjoyable video to watch. Spend a lot of time at Goodwood and seen a few sprints over the years, but interesting to see it from a drivers point of view. Loved seeing your old photos of the circuit, that's how I remember it when I started going there back in the 80s.
Brilliant, and thoroughly enjoyable. Really liked the difference between the almost serene in-car video, then seeing the external filming which shows you clearly giving it the beans 👍
