Wow! What an amazing mausoleum. The marble sculpture of Robert is just perfection. Their story is incredible and it's a privilege to have seen their decorated lead coffins. The setting is a perfect picture of the 40 shades of green. What a shame that anybody would vandalize a resting place. Thanks Sue.
Absolutely gorgeous! The detail in the sculpture is amazing. The stained glass windows are beautiful, so is the altar. I loved the drive in the rain and the walk in the woods, felt like I was really there. Thanks for sharing
Wow that was a special place, And the lead coffins also. The Victorians took death so seriously and this one is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing Sue xxx
What an amazing place. The sculpture is so well detailed even down to the slight folds of the pillow. The stained glass windows are beautiful. Most stately homes use a special area or room to store their food such as fruit and vegetables under ground in their cellars. But a few places still have an Ice house to hang meat or store game. I found this very interesting. Would have loved to have seen the house, it would probably have had a small private Chapel in it. Thank you Sue, loved the history of the family. 💕🇦🇺
Thanks Liz, I was told house is lived in and out of bounds unfortunately, the sculpture is amazing, it looked like a white fleece blanket it was so real looking 🇮🇪🍀❤️
Iv fallen in love with the woods. I could spend all day there. The mausoleum is just glorious and all the history. Thank u for another wonderful video💙
My thanks to you for sharing this with us, and my thanks and gratitude to whoever granted you access to the inside of that beautiful mausoleum! I just love it when the average people like us are granted a little peak “behind the scenes”, as it were. ❤️
Amazing. That grand building, the beautiful sculpture and all that marble and stained glass, and there they lie in the basement. There's plenty of room for more people in there, and I can't help but wonder why such a grand tomb for just the two of them. Thanks Sue for brining this to us. Slainte`!
Those woods were just ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, and as for the mausoleum, what a STUNNING building!! How on earth did you manage to get the key, Sue??!! Did you have to get special permission??!! Stunning tour of the Mausoleum. The marble scupltures, stained glass windows and steps are amazing and trees surrounding the area are beautiful and make you wish you could step back in time to view the place when it was originally built. Thanks again for taking the time to share as we really appreciate it.
The mausoleum is massive. I wasn't expecting to see a sculpture when you first walked in it's like a chapel. There's plenty of room for others I'm surprised there were only two other burials in there. The grounds by the ice house were beautiful. Thank you so much this vlog was so interesting.
This was stunning, Sue. I loved the delicate intricacy of the stained glass windows. Beautiful workmanship throughout. And such a rich family history! Thank you.
A fantastic find, especially liked those lead coffins. At that last crypt I felt like I was looking into the prison cell of Edmond Dantès in the Château d'If prison (from the Count of Monte Christo). Very nice Production.
Hi Sue. Such a beautiful mausoleum that is !! I am so glad you told me which video to look for. It always amazes me how someone can carve statues, etc and also to carve in one's likeness. That's mind boggling !!! It's nice to have the history to go along with your vids. Take care, stay safe and God bless my friend. 👍🏻❤🙏
Sue…thank you for seeking places such as this. Such beauty. The carved effigy is stunning (excuse me for borrowing your words), I don’t really have any of my own. The craftsmanship and artistry is amazing. This mausoleum goes from one breath catcher to another. She must have loved her father very much and I bet she was quite an interesting lady herself! Your information of the family and history was much appreciated and just added to the beauty of this eternal oasis. Each of your videos is an interesting and historical perspective of Irish souls. @@SerenitySueGraveyards After some research I found the wife Sophia! She was a Russian heiress who wanted to escape her overbearing mother. They quickly married in 1863, had their daughter a year later, then a few years after that the marriage went sour. Sophia died in Russia in 1901, so I presume she is buried there somewhere.
The woods around are beautiful but inside the musaliam was just amazing the workmanship that went into it, and the lead coffins ⚰ especially the daughters who got the beautiful bow on it, stunning 😍 I love when you can get right in to look, I can't understand people who destroy the likes of this beautiful place

Hi Sue. You find the most amazing places. You don’t see these type of cemeteries here in New York. Maybe just a handful. So beautiful and so done differently in Europe. Thankyou for sharing your wonderful explores.
How lucky ,we get to see inside. And Wow! It was absolutely gorgeous inside too.the carving is exquisite ,so perfectly done .Because it is so protected from the elements ,and peoples fingers it remains in almost pristine condition.I cannot believe some idiots broke in.No doubt thinking there was valuables inside there..They probably did not realise what it was as it does look a bit like a small Keep (these were usually where the family resided ,the most defended part of the castle once the walls were compromised as usually a lot of people would flee into the main rooms as well from the surrounding village.Hence the word Keep It was the last stand for protection for the family and village ).. The ice house is incredible a lot got filled in because they were deep into the ground.Basically it was a large cave they stored things like cheese, butter and fruits and vegetables and meat too as well as some drinks .We have a fairly short season in the U.K. and as the house ( Sue never mentioned could have been large ,they would have had to feed a large staff as well as the family. Also it was normal for high up families to entertain a lot and even receive Royalty at times too.So it was very important to have an ice house.I have included this to help explain things to people who live outside Ireland and the U.K. as we had those at the large houses too..So I hope this helps answer and paints a picture for you ..Thank you Sue this was amazing today .It certainly was a great adventure and I am thrilled we got to see inside too..Love n Light 🥰

This was a beautiful mausoleum. The statue when you walked in was amazing. Thanks for putting this in the “shorts”. I have to go back and review if I missed another.

Hello Sue, What a magnificent mausoleum . Its so sad that we have "Idiots" for the want of a more fitting discription that find it entertaining to vandalise places of rest like this.. The scenery was breath taking and so very peaceful. I have never seen anything like the ice house before, I suppose it was the first "Deep freeze" 🙂. I know this is an older video but many thanks to toy both for bringing it to us.
Amazing what they could achieve in those days,if the old saying is true, that the spirits of the departed remain nearby then I’m sure the squire, his daughter and niece would be looking on probably with curiosity .another excellent presentation.👏👏👍
Another great video sue it's always amazing to see the coffins that are so old and to no they are still inside them lead coffins after so long is amazing it a shame people want to vandalise places ov rest god help them if I ever caught someone doing that thank you for Another great video take care stay safe and God bless you ❤️🙏
What a beautiful, peaceful setting. Is true that there are no snakes in Ireland? We could not explore like this in Tennessee without fear of finding a snake, poisonous or not. 🐍 😳😱
Excellent video. Sadly burials and tombs will often be violated by those seeking precious metals like gold, silver and bronze. Grave robbing is man’s 2nd oldest profession. Cremation and scattering of ashes is a solution.
Yes the damp is coming in, they were at the time talking to I believe the Irish heritage or similar that takes time for funds etc to come in and for the mausoleum to get funds ❤
Hi Rebecca, he actually was local but unfortunately it's so long ago I can't remember his name, I don't live near here so I couldn't even tell you where abouts, now I think what I did was contact the Monivea heritage group on Facebook, I think that's what it was called and he got me the name and number, do you live near here? Would you know the area, I'm trying to remember here, I think I recall that he lived just down the road from the entrance to the woods 🤔

Hi Jun, yes it's definitely my favourite
Hello Sue, What a magnificent mausoleum . Its so sad that we have "Idiots" for the want of a more fitting discription that find it entertaining to vandalise places of rest like this.. The scenery was breath taking and so very peaceful. I have never seen anything like the ice house before, I suppose it was the first "Deep freeze" 🙂. I know this is an older video but many thanks to toy both for bringing it to us.
It's one of my favourites Barry
Such a beautiful peaceful place.
Love this place, so beautiful 😍
Oh wow
Amazing thanks
Thanks Tom ❤️
Oh real coffins what history thanks
Thanks Sally ❤️🍀🇮🇪
Amazing what they could achieve in those days,if the old saying is true, that the spirits of the departed remain nearby then I’m sure the squire, his daughter and niece would be looking on probably with curiosity .another excellent presentation.👏👏👍
Thanks Peter, this place was so beautiful 😍
For a family to have such a mausoleum they must of had a story and great status
It sure is a beautiful mausoleum
Another great video sue it's always amazing to see the coffins that are so old and to no they are still inside them lead coffins after so long is amazing it a shame people want to vandalise places ov rest god help them if I ever caught someone doing that thank you for Another great video take care stay safe and God bless you ❤️🙏
Thanks Dwaine, I just think there's something wrong with people who can vandalise a place of rest, it just doesn't make sense to me
Simply amazing.
Thanks very much ❤️🇮🇪🍀
Key to heaven. 👍👍
Thank you ❤️🍀🇮🇪
Excelente estado del mausoleo que se notó con la excelente descripción. Saludos🇦🇷
Hi Patricia, thank you 😊
Simply awesome!
This has to be my top favourites and then the Seymour mausoleum and then Templemichael and of course the Daly mausoleum ❤❤
Wow👍👍👍
It was gorgeous 😍
What a beautiful, peaceful setting. Is true that there are no snakes in Ireland? We could not explore like this in Tennessee without fear of finding a snake, poisonous or not. 🐍 😳😱
Yes, it's true, no snakes
অসাধারণ 🖤🖤
❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely beautiful
Yes this was stunning Joan
Simply incredible!
One of my favourites ❤
Wow, what a beautiful resting place for that family. Just wow.
It is absolutely stunning
Just beautiful
Agree, stunning 😍
Nice
Thanks
Stunning
It's just fantastic 💗
The Ice House was huge inside ❣️ they must have had a lot of food and drinks in there in the day 👍😎💯‼️❣️
They sure must of, then look at the mausoleum, they were very well off ❤
Excellent video. Sadly burials and tombs will often be violated by those seeking precious metals like gold, silver and bronze. Grave robbing is man’s 2nd oldest profession. Cremation and scattering of ashes is a solution.
Thank you, I think it's disgusting behaviour but if they are inclined to steal, they'll think nothing of stealing from the dead for sure
I know this is wacky but this mausoleum needs a central dehumidifier its so beautiful green moss is overrunning it
Yes the damp is coming in, they were at the time talking to I believe the Irish heritage or similar that takes time for funds etc to come in and for the mausoleum to get funds ❤
I would love to see this.. is the key holder local.. or are you able to help me out please x
Just watched this place today from a page on Facebook called Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland. PS coffins are not made from lead, they are made from Zinc
I was told they were lead coffins ? Thank you ❤️
