I really enjoyed this episode about growing peppers. I had great success with all of the types and varieties I grew this year. I will be starting my seeds early and up potting them several times. I am in zone 7, so I loved all of Peter's comments. A funny joke about growing peppers on me was by my son, he told me early on that all of my peppers were basically green when I said I was growing red and yellow peppers, lol. I gave him the look and now Peter has confirmed that I am more "green" about growing peppers than my son. Old goat is eyeing that beautiful bowl of peppers! Thanks for all the tips.
I absolutely LOVE GREEN BELL PEPPERS!!!! I'm in zone 7 south of Baltimore, MD, we have not had any freeze yet. I did however just transplant my pepper plants in an attempt to overwinter them this year. Love this Peter fella from the Seed Company!!!

My fav is the Scotch Bonnet, the fruitiness flavor can't be beat! That ole 🐐 is on top of the peppers basket. He gets around. Greg you should've shown examples of the types of peppers as you we're speaking of them, some of us are still learning.

I normally sprout peppers on a damp scrap of cloth (seems less prone to mold than a paper towel) in a plastic storage container under lights, then transplant into soil as soon as I see that first root emerging from the seed. All the trouble described germinating peppers isn't really something I have experienced, but I also haven't tried growing any really hot varieties.

Loved, loved this episode. I wish you would list the nematode resistant varieties of each kind of plant, ie peppers. I have a horrible problem with root knot nematodes here in NW Florida. I checked your website and tried to search nematode resistant varieties, but came up with other features. Thanks for your help
Had a great year last year with peppers but this year wasn't good at all, it seemed like our season was shorter and they didn't start putting on until later, and the early freeze this October really did them in. Sad harvest.
No wonder my larger peppers like red Marconi always croak on me! I have that spotted wilt or as I call it southern wilt that kills tomatoes overnight...took out all my tomatoes this year..so awful.....are there any tomatoes being bred to handle the spotted wilt? It's a huge problem for me. Also do beneficial nematodes seem to be a good treatment for home gardeners?
@gardeningwithhoss just picked that up and added your hossinator bell peppers since that's what I struggle growing most, and hope your variety will do well in Tampa area. I'll send some photos if a success next year. Love habaneros for heat and flavor but the heat is too much to eat in the quantities I want so hope the no heat habanero will do the job. It wasn't a big order but the UA-cam marketing worked on me. When I move to south GA and have more land to farm you are the only deep south resource I am aware of so hope to do business with you for the long term.
@@gardeningwithhoss You have gone into microgreens and light kits, perhaps a small step into hydroponics is next? Just knowing which seeds do best with hydroponics might help sales.

We have never done hydroponics, I'm sure they are. Maybe someone will chime in on this.
