    • @ryanryan997
      @ryanryan997 2 роки тому

      So you "adapt" by doing nothing about what we're doing to our home? Let's say you live in a room and there's trash and cockroaches everywhere, urine and feces in buckets leaking on the ground. Instead of changing your habits and clean up your room, you just "adapt" by wearing a gas mask and a hazmat suit? This isn't the ice age. Climate change is real and there's something we can do about it. Not just "adapt" it. Is pouring plastic to the ocean and releasing an immense amount of green house gas part of the earth's "climate cycle"? I don't think so. We're affecting our environment and we can decide if it's in a bad way, or good way.

      @@sapporoichiban3612 pure stupidity, take your conservative logic, “we don’t contribute to the extent of china or the us so we shouldn’t have to reduce emissions because it wouldn’t make a difference” then apply that same thinking to countries similar size or smaller than Canada like Australia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Chile, Serbia, Belgium, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, Austria, Switzerland, Ukraine, Poland etc (there are at least 100 other examples) and you should see a massive problem. All of these countries individually dont make a huge impact on global emissions but If you use the logic “We dont contribute a lot so why should we stop emissions” in Canada then someone in Australia would say “Canada emits more carbon emissions then we do and they aren’t slowing down so why should we” and that creates a domino effect. that’s precisely why it is important for Canada to play its part and slow down emissions like the rest of the world is doing.

    • @sapporoichiban3612
      @sapporoichiban3612 3 роки тому +3

      @@kb-tm2hm So you start off with saying pure stupidity while not actually understanding at all what I was saying, lmao. That is pretty funny.
      First off, do you know anything about fossil fuel production?
      I am going to hazard a guess the answer is no. Based on your response which I have seen many times from people who has been fed a story with no background on the matter, I will take a moment to encourage you to look into it further before calling people stupid and assuming their political alignment based on one small statement.
      There are industry standards in Canada which have been developing for many years. These are strict standards which are monitored closely. The oil industry in Canada has become increasingly less impactful and continues to become better moving forward.
      This is due to pressure from people who actually understand how this works and drive the need for improvements in technology to reduce emissions. The companies are compliant with these rules that are put in place by commissions who regulate their activity.
      Now some would say that we should just stop. That would be fine if there were resources in place to replace the energy demand. There just simply is not right now. Good news is that people are working on it, any idea who that might be? I will throw you a bone. Many oil companies understand where the world is headed, that is why they are rich and successful and you are not. They are in fact financing many wind projects and other projects to get a slice of that pie. They are spending on research and development to actually make this a viable option rather than just a secondary source at best.
      I suggested that the fact that the world has an increasing demand for energy and nothing to replace it with at this point. You would think that the lowest emission producer would be who you would use until a suitable replacement is available. You would especially want these companies to be there to continue the path toward finding the replacement. The alternative is nations that have terrible human rights and environmental practices.
      It is not as easy as us stopping a percentage number of activity compared to others. It would be nice if it were that simple. That is just not reality. Before calling someone stupid, you may want to actually research the topic you are discussing first so that you don't seem uneducated yourself. You're welcome.
      Btw. I am not a conservative. I actually read a lot and have not been swept up in the extreme politics driven by emotion. Logic has not completely escaped me, lmao. You may want to take a breath and actually use your own mind rather than relying on others.

      All I can say is when the carbon taxes started in Canada 19 companies from Alberta headed to Texas where they were welcomed with open arms. We lost billions upon billions of tax dollars filtering into the system. Now we have homeless people, refugees living on sidewalks. Seniors starving and a healthcare system you don't dare get sick. Please let Alberta sell LNG to china so they'll stop using coal. That would help the world and maybe we'll have some money to fix things. Were going to be 3rd world very soon, but, yes our carbon might be a touch lower at the cost of our economy.

    This is not about climate change - it's about Saudi oil. Trudeau should be building pipelines in Canada and working to ensure Canadians that they are safe and will be monitored to ensure the safety of the land and Canadians. Instead, he is halting pipelines under the guise of climate change, to continue buying oil from Saudi Arabia, and protect the 9,000 Saudi Arabian jobs in Saudi Arabia employed by SNC Lavalin.

    How to Balkanize a Country:
    Canada’s greatest irony is that by legislating Multiculturalism into the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, we’ve actually fallen under the control of a single culture or ideology: The ideology of neo-Marxism. Within both the Canadian Charter and the Multicultural Act of 1988, this ideology is implicit rather than explicit. It can be deduced from the implied endorsement of cultural relativism and affirmative action policy. Marxism has been repackaged but it’s essentially the same product. You may already be aware that this ideology is rooted in conflict theory, which is a theory that classifies people into antagonistic groups as a prelude to a totalitarian dictatorship.
    To make a country "multicultural" is to Balkanize it.
    Neo-Marxism is a Trojan Horse with no legitimate place in the government of a free country. Yuri Bezmenov, Soviet defector and former KGB propaganda agent, exposed the true source and purpose of progressivism. He explained that Soviet Russia conducted a massive deception, beginning shortly after the 1917 communist conquest of Russia, to persuade certain gullible intellectuals to believe that the Soviets had succeeded in creating a Marxist, socialist utopia. The KGB offered guided tours of certain locations that created this impression, while carefully keeping their guests drunk and preventing them from ever taking independent excursions throughout the rest of the Soviet Union, where they would have seen the true totalitarian state. The deceptions of the Soviets led to the Marxist-founded Frankfurt School. The influence of this school eventually produced neo-Marxist, post-modern thinkers. By the 1960’s and 70’s this school of thought had a generation under its spell, including Canada’s Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. The deception remains extant, as these ideas have gone mainstream, dominating the influential spheres of media, politics and the United Nations.
    Bezmenov explained that the “progressive“ ideas promoted by the Soviets are part of a psychological warfare program they called Active Measures, or Ideological Subversion. Our universities are so thoroughly indoctrinated by this time that the Cultural Studies professors use the same terminology as the KGB: Professors explicitly state that ideological subversion, also known as cultural subversion, is the objective of the Cultural Studies program. The objective of psychological warfare is to render people incapable of psychological self defense. Yuri Bezmenov explains how equality and relativism are two ideas that they use to destabilize or disarm countries. According to Bezmenov,
    “All you have to do to “screw up” the status quo of a free nation, is to borrow ONE false idea from the ideology of a communist or totalitarian government.”
    (Love Letter to America, 1984)
    If all cultures are relative and equal, how can people identify a potential threat? If totalitarianism, Communism, and Islamic theocracy are all equal to Classical Civilization and Western liberal democracy, then how can you identify an enemy? How can you defend yourself if you cannot identify the threat? And there it is. By accepting neo-Marxist progressivism you are rendered psychologically disarmed, defenceless, and docile.
    Pierre Trudeau and Brian Mulroney ensured that equality and relativism were legislated into fundamental Canadian documents. This compromises social stability and national security. Affirmative Action Policy and the Multicultural Policy are the deceptive conceptual “gifts” of a Soviet legacy. These “beautiful” ideas play host to a hostile force. The best thing for Canada would be to purge neo-Marxism from government legislation: Roll the Trojan Horse back outside the gate.

    The economics of more taxes does not make sense. Canada is not sufficiently developed to withstand major infrastructure changes with regard to its electricity generation; the current systems are not even paid off; we are literally losing our shirts. It's better to let the more developed parts of the world experiment than have Canada with its small population take the risk. While there is climate change, our response might be more in how to adapt than how to affect it. In addition, since the only thing government seems to be able to do is "collect taxes" when we ask the government to do anything, their response will always be to "collect taxes" and "do something with them". It would be better for the citizens and industries to figure out how they want to do something, preferably without the government. While the govt can be instrumental to "inform" it should be not the method by which funding is "collected and distributed". Rather it should leave that up to the corporations and citizens to determine where their priorities are. The moment Canada bought a pipeline it removed the incentive of the individuals and corporate citizens and put the BURDEN, and it is a huge, unnecessary burden, into the lap of the government where it does not belong. The govt cannot solve every problem with collecting "more tax". There are some things that the people have to discover and prioritize and figure out how to do. The proliferation of "low carbon economy" funding from the liberal govt is a dangerous precedent, with large amounts of money going to corporations that earn a great deal of profit off the Canadian people and could do most of these projects themselves with proper planning and equipment replacement (ie Loblaws getting 11,500,000 for changing fridges, when they had 34 million of their own money, and likely a lot more where it came from). We cannot "blame Loblaws" for taking the govt bait, but it should have known better than to take the bait. It was not being a good "tax" citizens by taking the grant money; most of the organizations who jumped on the LCEF band wagon should have simply told the govt to go fly a kite and refuse to pay the carbon tax and make it clear why they would not participate in pillaging the Canadian public through accessing carbon tax funds.
    The carbon tax literally takes away the ability of the small business to make a profit. Corporate Canada is no friend of the Canadian when it too falls for the wiles of the liberal (progressive??) schemes. It is miles better for the government to NOT collect a carbon tax and then feel compelled to "give it to deserving people" who probably could do the projects on their own without it. Any govt can fall into this trap. Thus it is best, at the earlier opportunity, to cut taxes to the bare bones essentials, with the "Wants" coming from philanthropic efforts and "the needs" coming from regulated and just taxation. We are losing that in Canada - if you want 70-80% taxation like Europe, salaries must go up to at least 250,000 in order to eke out an existence (minimalist) from what is left. 25% of this, 9% of the 13% of this 5% of that, XX on $$ carbon Tax, GST on top of carbon tax, it's out of control. Income tax is immoral. Soon everyone is "equally poor", which is not a good way to run a society. It will have difficulty responding to disasters and it will also have a loss of incentive to work. It's obvious that Canada is a country that is growing and feeling its oats somewhat; it's hard to contain the enthusiasm sometimes, but much of our energy is spent not on healthy growth but on social programs that seem to be established to deal with the bad choices people are making. Our education programs seem to fail and grown people who ought to know better are becoming a burden on the state and we increase funding and enable them instead of showing them some tough love and getting into a military style recovery program to gain some self-respect. People promoting "safe injection sites" - common problem - It would be better to take them and put them in a military training camp than to enable them as we do. Canadians are too soft and as a result have become foolish.
