Ideally you'd leave it 24 hrs. If you don't have that much time, a couple hours should be okay, you'll just have to be careful. A good trick for removing the application tape (if it is paper based) is to soak the outside of it before removing it from the surface.
.. "Let dry before removing application tape"... Yeah, like a couple of hours at least. These types of installs require one thing only and that is Bubble Free (Air release) vinyl. No liquid needed.
