"The please go away" is so relatable tho. If you see a creature which you have never heard of or seen before you have NO clue how it works. Ig it would be best not to say anything, but the next best thing that can give you a sense of influence over the situation without acting hastily is politely talking to the thing.
When they brought up how Phen-228 (the boiled one) can only be seen through a lens/camera, that syncs up with T.O.E. a lot too. He was only visible in the TV, and when he broke out, he never seemed to have visible parts outside of the TV screen, and when we were watching back the video when TOE was creeping through the door and the volume was being changed, that implies that TOE was only visible in the recording, and maybe the guy who got attacked by TOE didn’t even see him, that’s also probably why it made no noise and it says “The Body Appeared Untouched”

I think that the reference to Wantanabe is symbolism for how the Boiled One binds his victims and essentially tortures them, and Wantanabe follows nihilism, representing how the Boiled One stills his victims and forces them to give up and wait for the end. And Job Zamperini is reference to Louis Zamperini, who was the one to spread word about the horrors that Wantanabe wrought.
I was originally thinking it was more surface-level like the Boiled One being the spirit of Wantanabe continuing the torture he did on others even in death, but your idea makes more sense.
@arcadepunk2628 Yeah, considering that Job Zamperini was a rather strange and specific alias to use, which matches up with Wantanabe's history, and how the Boiled One isn't exactly... Clear. Also, I don't think one ghost of a war criminal can do ALL this, and even if he could, it would have been more obvious from the beginning and would have had to do more with what he did in life.
I think this is exactly what it is, but I believe that it's not Wantanabe's soul or something, but that this Demon is just hinting at how it treats its victims.
I also like the use of Job to add to the element that this thing is some kind of demon, as both characters are from the Christian faith, with Job being the one who had to helplessly sustain the torture of god, much like the victims having to sustain torment from instagram filter Redskull.

The names “Zamperini” and “Wantanabe” reminded me of Louis Zamperini and his story (mainly known from the movie Unbroken). I was like “oh that’s gotta be a coincidence”, but then they searched it up and made a bunch of connections to that exact story, and I immediately was so much more invested in this than I already was. It’s not at all the direction I expected this analog horror series to go

I avoided this one for a while because the design freaked me out. This is the only analog horror thing y’all have covered that has genuinely given me that horrified feeling in my chest. haven’t watched much of this series yet, but i can already say the scariest part was the realization the hand banging in the glass in the first part was the scariest.
That was also the most unsettling part for me, because it happened inn the middle of the day. The pure idea that you aren't safe, even in your own home, in midday. It makes me feel uneasy to know that nobody is safe, even when they believe they are they aren't safe as they think they are.

Random observation: T.O.E. presumably stands for something. At the beginning of the boiled one video, there is a mention of the "Tree of Heaven", which immediately made me think T.O.E. could be "Tree of Earth", which can refer to the mythical "World Tree". Another possibility is "Tree of Eden", which would lead to a connection with the forbidden fruit or forbidden knowledge. Another thing of note is that "Tree of Heaven" is the name of an actual plant, and that plant is classified as an invasive species. But hey, that's just a theory.

Without your spine, you cannot move any part of your body. So the boiled one is actually eating their spine! A few points for anyone curious: 1. the book of Job is centered around the moral that even if you're a good, God-devoted person, you can still have the worst luck in life thrown at you on the turn of a dime. But enduring through those hardships and suffering of life will ultimately be rewarded tenfold, so long as you don't give into despair. 2. The general boiled one vibe--especially the design at 1:05:49--reminds me of the shrike/shrike tree from Hyperion, a sci fi novel with HEAVY Christian themes (especially in the sequel). I see an analog between the "locked in syndrome" here and said shrike tree, where people are in eternal agony and can't move. If the Shrike is an inspiration for this monster, that would definitely be evidence towards a more biblical explanation of what's going on.

Just to remind people the Cross of Saint Peter, also Known as the Petrine Cross, is what a Upside-down cross is called and it is a legit, and not a unholy, Christian Symbol that Is associated with the Martyrdom of Saint Peter. The Symbol originates from the Catholic Tradition that when sentenced to death, Peter requested his cross to be upside down because he felt he wasn't worthy to be Crucified like Jesus was. It has been used as a non Christian symbol, being used as a Satanic Symbol in horror films, and as a Anti Christian symbol and the occult but again in Catholic tradition it isn't a unholy or Satanic symbol. Now a Upside-down Crucifix is a unholy symbol I believe.

It's because old cameras used silver nitrate as a medium of exposure, and silver is considered a "pure" or "holy" metal. Similarly, old mirrors were backed with silver, which couldn't reflect the vampire's unholy form. This is also why silver weapons affect most monsters in European mythology. I do believe in this, but I believe it is the opposite. We can see that T.O.E likes to attack people and take their organs out and store them in places. What if T.O.E attacked the melted one, and took his organs for himself? The Boiled One looks like the melted dude, but it looks as if his face has been stretched across some black body, assumably T.O.E's.
this is actually really interesting to think about. there are many religious figures (such as Jesus Christ) who wear thorn crowns. they may be hinting at The Boiled One being some sort of got or omnipotent being. When they brought up how Phen-228 (the boiled one) can only be seen through a lens/camera, that syncs up with T.O.E. a lot too. He was only visible in the TV, and when he broke out, he never seemed to have visible parts outside of the TV screen, and when we were watching back the video when TOE was creeping through the door and the volume was being changed, that implies that TOE was only visible in the recording, and maybe the guy who got attacked by TOE didn’t even see him, that’s also probably why it made no noise and it says “The Body Appeared Untouched”

Also, I don't think one ghost of a war criminal can do ALL this, and even if he could, it would have been more obvious from the beginning and would have had to do more with what he did in life.
I think this is exactly what it is, but I believe that it's not Wantanabe's soul or something, but that this Demon is just hinting at how it treats its victims.
I also like the use of Job to add to the element that this thing is some kind of demon, as both characters are from the Christian faith, with Job being the one who had to helplessly sustain the torture of god, much like the victims having to sustain torment from instagram filter Redskull.

The names “Zamperini” and “Wantanabe” reminded me of Louis Zamperini and his story (mainly known from the movie Unbroken). Another possibility is "Tree of Eden", which would lead to a connection with the forbidden fruit or forbidden knowledge. Another thing of note is that "Tree of Heaven" is the name of an actual plant, and that plant is classified as an invasive species.

The boiled one is essentially just a sleep paralysis demon when you're sleeping but when you're not, he is a demon.
He's like a extra dimensional Demom or something, considering he cant directly interact with the real world. Also he like wants to open a hole in space time or something, idk
A few points for anyone curious:
1. the book of Job is centered around the moral that even if you're a good, God-devoted person, you can still have the worst luck in life thrown at you on the turn of a dime. But enduring through those hardships and suffering of life will ultimately be rewarded tenfold, so long as you don't give into despair.
2. The general boiled one vibe--especially the design at 1:05:49--reminds me of the shrike/shrike tree from Hyperion, a sci fi novel with HEAVY Christian themes (especially in the sequel). I see an analog between the "locked in syndrome" here and said shrike tree, where people are in eternal agony and can't move. If the Shrike is an inspiration for this monster, that would definitely be evidence towards a more biblical explanation of what's going on.

Just to remind people the Cross of Saint Peter, also Known as the Petrine Cross, is what a Upside-down cross is called and it is a legit, and not a unholy, Christian Symbol that Is associated with the Martyrdom of Saint Peter. The Symbol originates from the Catholic Tradition that when sentenced to death, Peter requested his cross to be upside down because he felt he wasn't worthy to be Crucified like Jesus was. I've been thinking about MatPat eventually leaving GTLive and I think the best option could be Ash taking over and having the channel hosts invited for different videos. Like Lee for The Mandela Catalogue, Tom for BATIM, and Santi and Amy for random vids lol.
The only issue I see with that is Tom is still in the UK I think, so they'd have to keep flying him in and he wouldn't be able to do as many recordings as the other creative directors, at least on the same set.

I cannot move nor do I want to” which I find really interesting because it somewhat implies that the boiled one was interfering with the video from the beginning 39:15 (I had to slow it down to pause at the right moment)
