I always thought that if Emily was played by a different actress I would've hated her 100 percent. But the actress is so graceful, not over the top and sometimes...cute even. I think she's controlling in her ways and mean sometimes but I still...like her. I understand why she does what she does and she really feels like a real mother, wife and grandma. Like a whole twisted but very interesting woman. The actress and how her character was written is genius. She's very complex and also evolves with time with such subtle changes. I adore her though i d hate her to be my mother lol.

I love Emily! As a younger person, I thought she was awful. As a grown adult with adult children, I get her now. She may not always be the nicest person, but she loves her family and only wants the best for them.

Emily is my dad’s favorite character and if I’m being honest she’s top ten for me, she has so many funny moments and a lot of her controlling moments stem from fear of losing Lorelei again so I do understand her most of the time. That being said Luke will forever be my favorite.
What I love most about this show how growing up I sympathized with Rory because I was her age, then I sympathized more with Lorelei, and now Emily and Richard are my faves. This show is really something you grow with over the yaers
Don’t change my mind but if Emily lived in Stars Hallow and was not ‘rich’, she would be the exact same person as Lorelai is. They have the same sarcastic humour. You can also see that in the episode where Richard’s mom is visiting them. Emily struggles with her mom in law and so does Lorelai too with her own mom. In that episode they really bond and maybe even sympathize with each other.
When Emily Gilmore or Paris Geller was in a scene, you KNEW it's goin to be *ICONIC* 🤣🤣💯
