This is the height of being hypocritical. I believe the discussion and anger has centered on the SALARY proposal and not the allowances that has been paid over the years ( that’s not to say that is acceptable). That’s a top for another day. As journalists what is the wisdom in coming on air to suggest “ if we go for the parliament handsard”. Why hasn’t this been done already to expose any hypocrisy among the parliamentarians? You guys are all in bed with whoever has power for yourself selfish interest. One day enough will be enough!!
You are absolutely right. Kwami Sefakayi knows this very well but is deliberately making it looks like it was the allowances that people were criticizing instead of the proposed salary. I am sad for him the way his objectively has changed. I have lost respect for him.

I think the truth should be well exposed. I still like us to boldly state the input that muddied the issue to this level. That is where the truth was squeezed out of the substance. It was the finest opportunity an individual got to settle matters concerning the committee's goodwill. However, it appeared as a soft spot to harvest political gain. But it turned out to be self-inflicted suicide. It was never the ordinary Ghanaian who stoked the needless debate. Be bold and the truth shall be plain.

Kwame, stop this. How is this a merciful gesture? The point is why must these spouses be paid or receive allowances? And why that much?. If we're helping them esp when they lose their husbands that's fine but they can't be an extra burden on the nation. Why not pay the wives of MPs or ministers or other public servants??
He's just exposing the hypocrisy of the NDC ..... if is not good today, was is good then. So why are they acting and making it look Akufo addo and his family are spending our money. That's what's called hypocrisy.

Sefa kayi has lost the argument. All the ex presidents wives have been receiving allowance, this is base on humanitarian grounds because its not constitutional. Therefore, for the allowance to be replaced with salary there must be a constitutional amendment to create office duties to the presidents and vice-presidents wives.

The comment I made was for the details of the allowance and the salary and how often it was being paid to be provided so listeners make an informed decision rather than both being lumped together to tow a certain line of argument. Everyone is allowed their opinion. If you disagree with mine, state tours and that’s fine. But don’t be making disparaging comments under someone’s opinion. It’s that simple.
