The statement from the leadership of the SDA Church is not directed at or addressed to the President. In fact, it is addressed to the membership of the church since there was a growing confusion in the minds of some of our members about where the church stands. The leadership of the Church needed to clarify and reiterate the theological stance of the church to its members. This does not in any way disregard the President's appeal to the Adventist Church to find other means of safeguarding its beliefs and at the same exercising their civic responsibilities if possible as in the case of special voting. We appreciate that point from the president.
