    Knipex 09 01 240 9.5-Inch Ultra-High Leverage Lineman's Pliers
    - The rivet has been reduced in size and moved closer to the jaws to create an ultra-high leverage design for 25% easier cutting power
    - Serrated cross-hatched knurled gripping zone on the jaws for pulling and gripping
-The recess on the back now has an oval shaped design which works better on thicker, round or oval shaped cable
-Additional gripping zone below the joint for strong gripping and pulling wires
-Precise induction hardened (64 HRC) cutting edges for long life and easy cutting of soft, hard and ACSR wire, non-slip plastic handles

I still have my 1st set of Kleins that I bought in Oct 1971 and they still cut like butter and don't have any knicks on the cutters and like me they're retired Good vid as usual ... Thx

you obviously don't use them heavily. I've got pairs with holes blown in them, pairs with a jaw broken off, and even a pair that I shattered a cutter on. I'm actually due to replace my current pair in another 6 months or so, and pass my backup pair along to a carpenter.

As a 26 year veteran lineman i never thought i would buy anything other than klein 9s!! Lets face it?!?! They are considered the best in the industry! However i got a pair of knipex 9s as a birthday present last year and i dont think ill ever buy another pair of kleins! Love knipex

What do you like better about the Knipex? They are both exceptional tools.

Klein Journeyman model with the black & yellow handles are my go-to.

Sir, thanks for the review. However, the fish tape puller feature requires a different gap design in contrast to any of those pliers you showcased in the video.

I am aware of those models, you are right. I should have skipped that point. Thanks for watching!

Nothing beats my 2000 9ne Klein’s. Had em for years. Tried Knipex and put them away pretty quick. Don’t like the way the snap and I like the way the kleins feel in my hand. Maybe a creature of habit. But they cut anything and feel just right. Klein it is.

Agreed. It’s hard to describe. Both great pliers, the Klein doesn’t have the snap and they have a great feel. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching! 👍

I do mainly commercial electric. I own both Kleins and Knipex and heres my thoughts and experiences: both are excellent tools. Knipex is more balanced in the hand, have more aggresive knurl and cut MC cable easier due to the round cut out opposed to kleins rectangle. Ive cut up to 1/4 all thread with the Knipex. The downside is that the Knipex is not as durable. The blades will eventually roll and chip if cut enough hardened materials (which its allegedly rated for). I already had a set warrantied.
The Kleins are a tank. Head heavy, makes a better hammer. If your splicing 4+ 12 awg wires or 10 awg to 12awg the Kleins perform better, maybe it has to do with head being heavier and easing the amount of torque being applied to do the task, im not sure.

In my limited use I like Kleins vs Milwaukee. Both worked well though. Haven’t gotten to use the knipex.

Those are not fish tape pullers for the Klein. That will mangle a steel fish. The pliers with the fish tape pullers have a flat spot to put the fish.

You are referring to "straight" fish tape pullers. Thanks for Watching!

Im a girl and the First tool I’ve got was an insulated knipex lineman’s, it’s really great I love them but very bulky, I’m considering only use it when I have to pull cable or only when necessary. I’m lookin for something lighter and same strong/quality

    For Linesman Pliers - Klein J2000-9NE 100%.
I don't usually care for Comfort grips (Too bulky) but I really like the Journeyman grips

    • @projectpinehills
      @projectpinehills  9 місяців тому +1

Good choice. I don’t generally like comfort grips either. I’d go with the HD2000-9NE if buying new because I think the double dipped vinyl grips are a good compromise and the cutters are hardened for ACSR. Thanks for watching! 👍

Those Klein don’t have a fish tape puller you will ruin your fish tape if you use them
