If I Was Your Girlfriend (Cover) live by The Beautiful Ones.
Begin 2019 waren The Beautiful Ones te gast bij Dordt Rocks voor een optreden in de Dordtse PopCentrale.
De Prince tributeband ‘The Beautiful Ones’ brengt een divers repertoire met de grootste hits van de kleine man uit Minneapolis die in 2016 plotseling overleed. Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Parade, Sign o the Times; songs van deze albums uit de jaren ’80 komen voorbij!
Vlak na het overlijden van Prince besloot en groep Dordtse topmusici een gepaste - eenmalige - ode te brengen aan de meester. Het werd een daverend succes, nu inmiddels 4 jaar verder, kruipt het bloed waar het niet gaan kan… iedereen beleeft zoveel plezier aan de optredens dat de band heeft besloten de stoute schoenen aan te trekken en wat vaker naar buiten wil treden.
Diverse vocalisten wisselen elkaar in rap tempo op en het zijn niet de minste: Monique van de Ster (oa Jody Singers), Randy Derkhof, Maarten Teekens en Jared Grant (bekend van oa de Voice of Holland). Dat alles natuurlijk bijgestaan door een super vette band met onder meer: Timothy “Phil Martin” van der Holst op de drums (oa The Jazzinvaders), Ton van der Kolk op de bas, Ger den Haan op de toetsen en Edwin in ‘t Veld (oa Laura Vane & The Vipertones) op de gitaar. Verwacht originele uitvoeringen en te gekke bewerkingen van deze muzikale genie.
