Thanks for the new drill, Paul. Personally, I like training outside with a 5ft staff. However, you are also correct about it depending on my environment. I love how these movesets can be translated to staff lengths.
Swing staff today. I like a staff slightly taller then myself. About six feet. I like to practice with a heavy staff but when I train I use a shorter lighter one. My dojo today will be the muddy shores of Lake Shasta. I’m still having fun with drill a day. I’ll add this to my collection. Thank you mr Paul. 🥋
Played mostly with 6 footers at first (I’m 5’9”), but a year ago I cut my rattan staff down to more of a Jo style at 4.4 inches and haven’t looked back. It’s more painful to train with (ask my shins), but definitely more agile and versatile in my inexperienced opinion.
THIS IS SO COOL!! Like an answer to my request! Thanks, Psulie! Saving this video for offline viewing and follow-along training. Thank you again for this tutorial!
I prefer a shoulder or temple height staff. Just like the length and it's a good size, still has a good amount of reach and still short enough to be "handy."
Thx for teaching us Mr. Paul, Its easy and its awesome🔥👍. Good for my new stick staff daily routine ☀️

Nice! Have fun at the lake 👍🏻
Awesome! My Dad used to train with the staff...great memories 👍
🙏🏻👍🏻
I prefer a short staff because I must walk with a cane and I can easily transfer

I've started trying long 7foot staff. It's completely different to the Jo staff
Thanks!
Am I the first one here?! I like my cane!
Yes you are!!! 👍🏻

Great video Paul. I love the staff. My favorite is the 5 foot Jo. Thanks Bro.

Short staff for me. Have you ever tried training with a chain as a weapon?
Thanks for your time and knowledge Paul
