If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

@Nico-xi6gu if you have better things to be doing with your time no one is stopping you… but a lot of people who watch Alex do so as it is the best use of our time and so the valueable information we get from his videos do feel like a bargain.
You trade your time to earn value. There is profit in learning all of this information. Same as going to work, except your growing yourself not some company that is profiting of your time.

Here are the key points :
* Confidence comes from evidence, not the other way around (0:12 - 1:28).
* Focus on effort, not the outcome (1:28 - 2:21).
* The price of excellence has never been so low (2:21 - 3:11).
* Don't be afraid of being humiliated (3:11 - 4:12).
* Focus on the difference between your starting point and your progress, not on absolute numbers (4:12 - 5:02).
* Building an audience takes time and consistent effort (5:02 - 6:23).
* Focus on the controllables (6:23 - 7:22).
* The ultimate win is framing things in a way that sets you up for success (7:22 - 9:22).
* There are no shortcuts; success comes from hard work and perseverance (9:22 - 11:22).
* Our minds are meaning-making machines; we can choose how to interpret our experiences (11:22 - 12:22).
* Focus on the stories you will tell in the future, document your journey (12:22 - 14:18).

I’ve watched this 3x and shared it with everybody. The amount of game he sharing in this should be illegal, he makes everything so practical.
I just deleted all my motivational videos and replaced it with this one video. Before, I would watch motivational videos to cover the pain. Now I take these simple instructions to cure my depression.
The part about infinite vs. finite games was amazing. That's such a profound way of framing it.

I’ve been in this low esteem rut almost all my life given i’m soon gonna turn 18 and I’m heavily surrounded by a ton of shit pulling me down from even making an effort to improve myself. These past 2 years I’ve realized i’ve been putting all my time and work to totally wrong measures to earn myself self confidence like putting up a ton of facades but this guy here DID show me the right path to chase after building solid evidences for yourself to be proud about. absolutely phenomenal content.
Build evidence! I say something similar all the time. For example, I have a gut and I've been working out all year. People at work laugh when I tell them in going to the gym, I never get butthurt because I just laugh and tell them to join me whenever they'd like. Invariably, they just look at me... and I find it hilarious. Gut and all, wearing shorts and a tee I look huge ... like a powerlifter with a small gut. All that tk say, once you do the work, and keep doing the work, no one can shake you.... people will laugh at you and you will laugh, literally... and best of all, they look like foos

Thank you so much, Alex, for sharing your perspective. I want to play the game because I enjoy playing it, not because I desire status or the rewards it offers. They are a nice bonus. The moment I start playing, I've already won. The more I play, the more I win. The only failure is giving up. I'm willing to be inadequate; I'm willing to make mistakes because this is the only way I can learn. This is the only way I can improve.

I will rewatch this video for the next 30 days, take notes on it, and embody its lessons in my life. I already take action, but I need more action, and the things that are stopping me are the ones you mention in the video, afraid of being humiliated, afraid of seeming like a looser, but I'll be a true loser if I don't do more of it.

bro I just turned 23 , and I thought okay im done hearing advice " its all the same any way " but bro u really opened my eyes on make being better your win rather than if you won or lost on any single day , I just started my own business basically 8 months ago and I dont know a lot of shit in it and theres a whole buncha losing in it and will be more because thats the nature of the business im in its based on probabilities too but focusing on the actions I take rather than the actual win or lose on any given day is the key thanks bro

You cannot really know that you're acting without being "controlled" by your past without going trough your trauma. This is the no.1 reason I see many succesfull business-people not living lives which actually serve them.
I do not know how you exist. You have, at the very least, created an incentive structure for business success such that you continue to share such profound business, entrepreneurial , mental, health, and philosophical advice said in such simple words.
I’ll fall off the band wagon every now and then from my ultimate goal, but it’s watching your videos as a guiding star that puts me back towards where I want to be.
