Also Ben Bruce said that this song was wrote about Danny almost dying in room 138 of a hotel they were staying in. It was during the time they were recording the FDTD album
this is the most powerful song asking alexandria has ever written, honestly. I don't think I've ever heard an asking song charged with this much emotion before
Hands down as a recovering addict of a year and half clean two overdoses a lost fiance later this song brings me to my knees... I love this band ive been In room 138 for 6 long years but no more ..

This AA album has the most heart and soul put into it. All the regret and pain over the years really makes these songs hit places they never did with previous AA albums. This album is what it means to grow as a band and grow as people. Everyone feels pain and suffering, but only the strong can come back from them and use it as a catalyst to make themselves stronger. Keep up the good work guys, stay strong.
This song has saved me from some of the most darker times, including my own suic*dal thoughts, thank you Danny for being so pure and raw in your words, the whole point of asking alexandria was to have someone to relate to as we all relate to people, so I hope for those still struggling, you can relate and make a better life for yourself, keep your heads up you bunch of amazing people, you've got this ❤
This comment is about 4-5 years late on my part, but this song is literally a dream come true. Not only is it just a great and powerful song, but year before an old friend of mine and I were talking about how the ending of "If You Can't Ride Two Horses...." could be it own song and we wished it had been. How lucky I feel for it to essentially become one. When does that ever happen?
Yeah, I knew I recognized that melody. That was my favorite track off that old album. Was a nice callback I think. I love when bands reference their earlier work and give perspective on what's changed anf what's stayed the same.
On my back, breathing heavy staring at the light Praying this isn't the end, but pretty sure it might be On my back, got my heart beating out of my chest I never thought, I can’t believe that I'd go out like this So these are the walls that have to hold this moment I never expected to be here again My vision is blurring as the light starts fade Please pull me out of this My ribs are breaking I swear, I'm only twenty three Crawling, searching for a lifeline I just can't reach Somebody hear me, someone open up the door Get me up off of this floor and stop the shaking The blood is boiling in my veins Oh god the pain, it's unrelenting I'm ready for the end if it means that all of this will end So these are the walls that have to hold this moment I never expected to be here again My vision is blurring as the light starts fade Please pull me out of this Through the haze I saw a face A second chance, another life to live, how did you forgive me Held my head against your chest, told me everything's alright, don't be afraid Close your eyes and rest So these are the walls that have to hold this moment I never expected to be here again My vision is blurring as the light starts fade Please pull me out of this
Wtf were people expecting... bands Will eventually start to make music that they feel is right, not the fans. I love what they’re doing! keep up the good work 🤘🏽
@@justinhemmah7008 in your opinion. In the opinion of actual smart people, and the band, these new albums are on the next, better level. They are much happier, much better, much closer together. @@Poopymcscroogeballs No, what they say makes sense and I'm so glad they also realized it. If you go to "If You Can't Ride Two Horses At Once... You Should Get Out Of The Circus", you'll see the lyrics "I never expected to be here alone" in the final stanza. For the chorus here, I always believed you could subtitute it with that final stanza.
First time I've listened to this, I literally couldn't stop crying, the interpretation is so powerful. Just amazing how a voice can convey such emotions
0:30 (Whoa!) So now this is over and the world falls upon me. (Whoa!) I never expected to be here alone. (Whoa!) The shadows are forming as we burst into flames. (Whoa!) Why does this end this way?
You can hear the pain in his voice. This album is a real treasure in my opinion. Sure it doesn't sound like SUAS or R&R but it's still Asking at its core. Great job boys excited to see the new material live.
This song is my favorite on album. It has a good combination of old and new asking alexandria. Honestly if the whole album had this vibe I think some of the fans that were disappointed with this album wouldn't be. But hey, you can't make everyone happy. They made me happy though!
I know someone has probably already mentioned this, but I find it so cool that the vocal melody that begins at 0:30 is basically the same thing, but faster, as the part that begins at 2:43 in the song "If you can't ride two horses at once..." I wonder if it was intentional.
Personally I think this song is very close to a masterpiece... the way the lyrics are constructed are very clever and poignant. What I have noticed and would be good to get people's feedback is - I think they Danny has song the song exactly how was feeling when he had his overdose! If you notice the way the lyrics are song through the verses get angry, scared and end at plain desperation! And then mellow out once his saviour enters the room and the second part of that verse is then sung in anger at himself. Please feel free to comment as I have noticed this and not seen a comment a long this of thought with the composition of the lyrics.
Not a lot of music gives me chills any more, but this song does and so do some of the other songs on this album. This is seriously one of the best albums I've heard in a while and I'm constantly listening to new music.
*Warning: Wall of text* So, since this is the last song, instead of using my brain and not writing my comment I am gonna give my opinion. Yeah opinions are a thing in this world, but this is 2017 and people forget about that. So, 2 things. First of all, this album is just like Danny said. Breaks every rule in the book. A new face of AA. Listening to it, it was great. Didn't feel much old AA, but still loved it. There was however one thing I hated a lot. The comments. Most people with a brain didn't write comments, as it is more or less pointless, and I realize I should not be writing one too but I like to live dangerously... and brainlessly. Anyway, point is, *most* people (disclaimer: not all) either say they hate it and that AA sucks now, or that they love it. And then they respond to a comment of different opinion with vulgarism and start fighting. *Seriously?* If you hate it, either write a comment that says why without being overly rude to people of different opinions or AA (since thay can make whatever music they want) or do not comment at all. And if you love it and then respond to a hate comment (or worse, just a comment that might be saying they don't like it without being rude) by calling the author an emo kid, and some more vulgarism, you should not respond as well, since that doesn't make you any better.
J S THIS!!! I love the album but I also can understand why someone might not. Doesn't mean they need to be insulted for liking/disliling something or having a different opinion 😄
It’s what separates good bands from the best. People hated them, same as being me the horizon, and every time a new album comes out people say the last album was the best. They’re all circumstantial, I hated most of this album in 2017; I’ve only just put the vinyl I bought years ago on to listen start to finish and I love it
As a recovering addict who overdosed twice this song hits me somewhere I never thought a song could take me back to. Laying there begging for my fiance to help but she was to busy getting her fix! Terrible feeling. I feel you danny
I just downloaded this album on Apple Music and it kicks ass. Danny so happy 😃 to have you back as lead vocals. Asking Alexandria wasn’t the same without you 😘
Asking Alexandria have always meant so much to me up until the point where Danny left. Dannys emotion (especially in From Death To Destiny) got me through each every day back in my "teen" years. I was heartbroken when he left, tried to give Dennis a chance but I just couldn't bring myself to like it. I've lost track of them until Danny joined back in and honestly, I am crying right now. Just finished the album on Spotify, and honestly I forgot that I was even listening to Asking Alexandria. Not a bad album at all. I honestly like it, but if it was one of Danny's side project, then I feel like it would be more fitting? The Black felt more like AA, even though it was a soft version of AA. Idk, this album just feels very out of place in my opinion. Not a bad album, it's honestly pretty good, even though I thought I was listening to a different band this whole time. Opinions on it?
I feel the same way. I wish they hadn't released into the fire and where did it go, because those are by far the two strongest track on the album imo. I should love the whole album, but I just don't because it doesn't sound nearly as creative as any of the other albums besides the black. From death to destiny is my fav and I was hoping this would be more like that I guess.
yeah exactly. Idk why ppl telling their opinion if they don't know literally anything about the meanings and stuff. Even if somebody write a 'I don't like it' comment in a "positive" way it's really dumb tho. Just don't do that. I'm not writing comments just in case I make sure I know EVERYTHING about that.
guys... these comments about simiilar to this song are everywhere and they even did 2 track by tracks interviews with ben and danny and ben even admitted it. it was on purpose.
I like the story that goes with the album there is a story if everyone listens there is a reason for everything for these songs there is a damn good story
After hearing this would be in there figured it would be more apparent than it was. I was actually expecting it to be Bens voice doing the “woooah OHHHH OOOH Oooh” at the end
Zach Sullivan in room he says he sees a face and someone forgives him before the last chorus... That might be the connection with the girl in Two horses

I LITERALLY NOTICED THIS TOO
I'm glad I wasn't imagining it
On my back, breathing heavy staring at the light
Praying this isn't the end, but pretty sure it might be

Please pull me out of this
My ribs are breaking I swear, I'm only twenty three
Crawling, searching for a lifeline I just can't reach
Somebody hear me, someone open up the door
Get me up off of this floor and stop the shaking
The blood is boiling in my veins
Oh god the pain, it's unrelenting I'm ready for the end if it means that all of this will end
So these are the walls that have to hold this moment
I never expected to be here again
My vision is blurring as the light starts fade
Please pull me out of this Through the haze I saw a face
A second chance, another life to live, how did you forgive me
Held my head against your chest, told me everything's alright, don't be afraid
Close your eyes and rest
So these are the walls that have to hold this moment
I never expected to be here again
My vision is blurring as the light starts fade
Please pull me out of this

I should love the whole album, but I just don't because it doesn't sound nearly as creative as any of the other albums besides the black. From death to destiny is my fav and I was hoping this would be more like that I guess.
Kazma the black was written good but wasn't AA style because of how Denis did it.
That was exactly the plan. To not sound like the things they have done before. Danny explained it. They threw the rule book out the window.
yeah exactly.
My favorite on the album

From death to destiny- 9.50

One of my favorites from the new album! Waiting on my vinyl can’t wait
Melhor musica nessa porra
Yup, I am in love with this album.
I can't be the only one but this song reminds me of if you can't ride two horses at once you should get out of the circus
Logan with lightsabers It's intentional
Logan with lightsabers it also sounds a bit like prophecy
0:30 the exact lyrics are from that song
Lol they're similiar but not exactly the same
guys... these comments about simiilar to this song are everywhere and they even did 2 track by tracks interviews with ben and danny and ben even admitted it. it was on purpose.
I like the story that goes with the album there is a story if everyone listens there is a reason for everything for these songs there is a damn good story
I hear If You Can't Ride Two Horses At Once...Then You Should Get Out Of The Circus
Zach Sullivan yes! Danny mentioned the outro to if you can’t ride two horses was in this song!
"I never expected to be here again" is a reference to "I never expected to be here alone" from that song.
After hearing this would be in there figured it would be more apparent than it was. I was actually expecting it to be Bens voice doing the “woooah OHHHH OOOH Oooh” at the end
I didn't expect it, especially because room 138 doesn't even mention a girl like in the other one
Zach Sullivan in room he says he sees a face and someone forgives him before the last chorus... That might be the connection with the girl in Two horses
At first I didn’t like some of these songs but they are all growing on me 😍
Ohh .. Suenan bien joder .. Pero quiero escuchar mas screams ⚡
Like si tu también 👏⚡
God the POWER!! Behold asking Alexandria 2.0 with the rightful king all hail DANNY!
