Seeing a new video notification always makes my day better
when a fish misses top water it wants to stun it and will come back and hit it again if you pause retrieve
It actually frustrates me to watch him lose so many big fish
Ahhh Snook don’t do that that often and a lot of the times I would throw it back on the area and come up with no bites. They love to hit it at the kayak so then you run out of water to work the plug so your best bet is just to throw it out again in the area. But it seems like a lot of these fish would get spooked after seeing the kayak.
@@Dink_master_fishing Dude.
I always have thought the same thing, if a fish misses pause it, even have the occasional pause on the retrieve can cause get a fish to strike. Rich has one speed on his retrieve. It works for him but I like to mix up my retrieval speeds with occasional pauses and and random jerks.
My thoughts exactly. Can't even count the times it's worked for me. Live and learn. Good video. Ty!
Can't say you didn't catch Jack!! Epic bite man! That Snook, Yowzers!!
Exploring new water is always special. I'll take those small Jacks all day long. Really nice snook! As always, great video Rich!
That was an absolute tank. I just wanna say u are my fishing idol. I love ur videos and the info u give out. 💓
Thanks Rich - another enjoyable video
Awesome day! Also your footage is evolving, great drone shots.
Thanks for the best videos !
Love these exploration videos!
I love watching fish videos.
I love Jupiter it's always been a cool little town.
Always like to tag along with you exploring. So many species.
always appreciate the uploads
Boy, you are good at casting, getting that close to the mangroves. I would be spending half the day just trying to recover my lurers.
Hahaha 🤣 lots of long days of practice
I love coming home to another great video by my favorite UA-camr
Really interesting vid. Love watching you explore new waters and congrats on that big snook!
Thanks Pigs and Apples! It was a great all day adventure on the water. Glad you enjoyed!
Love the drone parts!
Topwater is SO much fun! Way to go.
Great stuff keep it going !
Love your videos. I learn a lot just by watching you fish. I normally fish the Mosquito Lagoon up to Ponce Inlet, and the Indian River lagoon. I have a small cargo trailer I turned into a camper and love camping and kayak fishing all over central Florida. This weekend I will be camping and kayak fishing out of Gamble Rodgers State Park. If it gets to windy I will do some surf fishing as the winds are out of the south west.
The respect that you showed that fish is a direct result of good up bringing!
Thank you for sharing this video, I like fishing . ❤❤❤❤❤
Quality content. Your hard work shows brother. Ill be watching. Thanks
Nice snook!!
Great video, Thanks!
Another great one Rich! ♥
Thank you for giving us something to tune into and it be awesome content
Glad to Jason! Thanks for watching! I hope you are slaying!
Excellent stuff bro
Snook, Redfish, Trout and Tarpon. While here on Long Island, we're freezing our asses off battling the might White Perch. Just a little jealous, but we really need these videos. The more the better.
As you said Rich, nice place to be, pristine almost. I' m like you my fishing is just for me, quieter the better . Lovely spot, I look forward to you returning
Keep up the good you doing 😊
Wow a lot action.
Welcome to Jupiter. I fished a different branch of the Loxahatchee the other evening. The mullet are definitely moving in. Thank you for another encouraging and entertaining video. Stay safe.
Thanks Steven, glad you enjoyed! Caught tons of mullet the last few days fishing there.
Not a bad day on the water, Rich. Keep this nice content coming.
Yeah it was a fun day! I’ll try my best!! Thanks so much for the motivation!!
Nice scenery in the vids 😎
When I'm wade fishing San Luis Pass! I'll have two pole set-up in my wade belt, windy? Both spinning reels on stiff rods! Calm a 7' 6" castaway bait casting rod & reel and a 7' 6" castaway spinning rod & reel, but one rod will always have an old school Rebel jumpin minnow and a 1/2 oz DOA shrimp. But if the fish are hitting short sometimes they're circling the Jumpin minnow in the current, but if they don't hit it a twitch? You'd be surprised if you throw that DOA right next to floating bait and how many times trout will just slurp it up and start swimming away! Setting the hook can be tricky at time with a floating bait next to it! But nice snook! Try throwing in behind a surface bait with plastic shrimp!
Sick video rich!! kep it up!
Nice adventure
Wow. I loved the bank shot, set up must be fun. I’m going to put a hula skirt on the last treble of my top waters. I’ve had a few sea monsters hit those, after initial slashing hits, but lost the lure! Great video again.
I really like the view of your top water bait when the fish hit the lure. Awesome.
Awesome I’ll try to do more stuff like that! Tight Lines!
The Loxahatchee was the first place I ever saw a tarpon. It was between the park and Trapper Nelson's place, on a sandbar in an oxbow.
Looks like a good time.
Awesome! Yeah it’s a great time up there!
Love your content Rich. I moved to Bradenton FL 3 years ago from Upstae NY fishing the Adirondack ponds via pack boats. I’m learning the Tampa bay fishery, bought a Hobie Lynx and your vids help me out greatly! The Manatee River is only a 2 min drive to put in and I would think be very similar to this tidal river. Thanks man.. Tight Lines.
Awesome!!! Really glad to hear! Tight Lines!!
Tampa bay is pretty difficult nowadays there’s too many people here. You’ll have better luck down south in Sarasota or boca grand has amazing fishing
Love the vids
Nice day of fishing a new area, nicely done brother
Thanks Rickee!! Tight Lines!
Thanks for another great video rich!
I’ve been in the keys kayak fishing and I’m heading up to west Palm and Jupiter next week. Thanks for keeping me I inspired
Awesome Tim! I hope you are doing well down there! I’ll probably head down this month as well! Tight Lines and good luck!
@@FishAholicTV I have a paddle board and looking to do fishing just like in this video. Do you remember the park/boat ramp you entered the river at? I am new here and just trying to find a good spot to park and explore
Keep it up Rich, another great video
Thanks so much! Tight Lines!!
Surprised that snook stayed so still when u measured it on the side of the yak. Thought for sure it was going in the water. Lol. Great vid as usual!!
Nice trip monger!
You should have a look at how people chase jacks here in Australia. Flicking lightly weighted soft plastics under the mangroves would probably produce fish where you are aswell
My brother your choice of music is second to none.
Haha thanks!
When fish are only swiping on topwater i like to throw twitchbaits with similar profiles like mirrolures or corkies and they will slam it. You can slow twitch close to button or work it like a topwater right under the surface
That area is great, If you do some exploring there a bunch of mini spill ways hidden all around
Awesome, thanks for the tips! Tight Lines!
Love you heart for fishing
Thanks Andrew! Tight Lines!!
instant subscribe from Europe freshwater kayak angler! nice video and edits. good intro music...on point.
Thanks so much! Welcome to the Fishaholic Family. I’m hoping to get back to Europe one of these days to catch some more Pike,Zander, and perch in freshwater and some Seabass in the salt.
Love the lox and always good fishing on it. Next time take a trip to trapper Nelson's a little ways up the lox. Really cool area and snook swim alongside bass. Great video!
Awesome, thanks for the tips! I’ll have to try for a slam which is a bass, snook, and tarpon I guess. That will be the goal. I swear I had a bass hit at the kayak but I didn’t get a great look at it.
Might try live baking the bridges in South and North fork. Some monster Snook live under those small spans
I found your channel glad to be your subscriber this is Roland mcClendon
When have that many near misses. Change to a different contrasting color. They apparently liked the action of that gold lure but with a white backdrop on a gold lure. They are just not seeing it well. Have that same lure in a solid black or dark blue under the body. They would have nailed it. When your fishing sunshine , and have a blue backdrop with topwater , you can use light colors and its better.
Fished some of those areas growing up back in the 60s
Oh wow, that must have been amazing! It seems so untouched now but at that time it must have been like Jurassic park haha. Thanks for watching Mike! I hope you catch some fish soon!
Awesome video as always bro where you you launch the kayak I will appreciate it keep with those fishing videos
I have that same hydr pencil still new in a box
I like how he would catch a keeper jack , call it a little guy and throw it back
Seriously. Some of those Jack were pretty big.
I fished that river a lot in the 80's and 90's and NEVER saw anything like that first snook. A lot of small jacks, snapper, and little snook and even a bass once on a live shrimp! Love your channel.
Nice vid. Noticed the new yetiiiii
Thanks Koby! Yeah it’s an awesome little cooler.
Great video!
When are you going to have hats available for purchase? I had the all navy blue hat but the patch disintegrated & came off after one wash in the gentle cycle. Need another one!
All day fishing, salam kenal dari Indonesia
Let’s go!!!
Great job , do you ever do any bass fishing ing the Jupiter area?
do they make polarizing filters for the gopro? It may help us see under the water reflection
Hey Rich, I just fished this same river in the kayak on Monday. I didnt have quite the day you did but had a good time. The mullet were jumping all over the place and the tide was so high. Couldn’t seem to get anything on top water. Did you launch kayak out of the state park there? As always awesome videos, keep
It up.
❤
Hey Rich !
great vid as usual bro !!
Can you give some details about the kayak you're using ??
@FishAholicTV. what happened, i WAS a suscriber sorry here you go bro
Great vid. Wonder if some pauses on the top water would be helpful next time.
I like your vids. They are chill. Is that Visser a no. 4?
I always love your videos. Idk why this only plays at 360p
Where can we get those sick gloves dude🤙🏽🤙🏽
✌🏽
Hey what size is that yeti cooler, it'd be perfect for my son's kayak
Maybe its just the camera making the rods look thicker than they actually are, but I am curious, do you prefer a stiffer thicker rod for the type of fishing you do? Any reason why? I just look at the casts and the tip of the rods dont seem to bend almost at all which to me seems like the rods are way more powerful than the bait class or maybe I am way off? Again, maybe its just the camera angle but the rods kinda looks heavy to me
Yeah it may be the camera angle. The light green rod is the heaviest I was using this day and for plugging with larger topwaters I prefer it because you never know when a big snook 35”+ will eat. The dark blue and dark green rods are more light medium fast inshore rods and if I hooked something bigger than 28”/30” I would possibly be out gunned especially in close quarters around structure. I have caught much bigger fish than that on those lighter rods but in open water which makes it doable.
@@FishAholicTV That makes sense. I've never fished in salt water, mainly lakes and the biggest fish ill get here is prob a 45'' pike. I use a 1 - 4/2 oz type rod for this kind of fishing and would feel awkward using anything heavier. Many people here do use twice the size and power in everything but I find the fight to be more fun this way. I guess you do need a better quality rod to be able to downsize tho. I guess you never know what can be lurking in the waters you are in
I'll be in jupiter in June. Weres the best spot to shore fish?? I wanna catch an Oscar.
is that up the lox river?
I don't know if you are seeing this but, When do you think your hats will be back in stock? I would love to get one!
you should do a video with moving weight
What knots are you using for braid to floro and for floro extensions?
Braid to fluoro im using an Albright knot and if I add extra leader to my leader just a uni to uni knot. For my topwater lures I’m using a loop knot.
Hi
Hi Rich
Newly fan of your channel and loving it. What model is your Hobie kayak?
Hey Marc, thanks so much for joining us. I have a 2018 Hobie Outback
In my opinion the best model and you can find them on Facebook market place
Thanks for the kayak info. You should film video fishing Banana River, Merritt Island. That's where I do most of my inshore fishing as I have family, that I visit, that live on Merritt Island.
What is the deal on snook? I live in Va and don’t have them up here. Are they good to eat because I never see anyone keep one. They must have seasons ,size and catch limits is all I can figure.
Any gators there? I do most of my kayak fishing out of Little Mud Creek. No gators there 😅
I’ve seen one so far
Can you make an artificial fish out of wood? Make one and share the information with us

Where is that location
why catching when always release
You need to start wetting your hands before you handle fish! EVERY time!
In a kayak my hands are constantly wet if not all day. Also my net is rubber to help to reduce removing slime.
YETI is an anti-gun company. boycott YETI
i love to watch this video
Awesome, glad to hear!! Thanks so much!
Congas 🪘🪘 good choice
Jacks are an awesome fish not better than nothing, there is footage of them taking birds in flight not so many others doing that. They can be eaten fried and broiled and pound per pound I don't need to say that they can fight
