NICCU (NICU) Baby Born 10-Weeks Early Grows Stronger - Live L.A., Give L.A.

Marietta Lanier hopes each day at the hospital will be the last, as her daughter Kennedy, born 10 weeks early and with grave birth defects, gains ground thanks to round-the-clock care from CHLA's NICCU (NICU).
During her first surgery, the surgeon discovered that her esophagus gap was very long-making her case more challenging than the doctors had thought. Kennedy would have to wait as CHLA specialists worked to support her growth, allow her lungs to become healthier, and bring the two ends of her esophagus and stomach closer together. Ours daughter has a rare bone marrow disease called PNH, was pregnant, began bleeding, and doctors took the baby at 29 weeks, 6 days weighing 3 lbs 12 oz., 17" long.
Five months later, he is over 16 pounds, but he still needs to work on his arms to raise up, and to turn over.
I have him from Friday afternoon until Sunday evening, so we are working on it. ❤
They told us that day we needed to work on it and we thought he was doing good because he's really only 3 months from his due date.

I was born 3 months earlier,I was supposed to be born in December of 2006 but I was born September 21 2006,I had to stay in the hospital for 3 months because I was very sick,the doctor thought I probably wouldn’t make it because how sick I was,but I survived,I did had to use a heart mushen,until my mom thought I could not use it anymore,and now I’m 13,I am healthy now,I justed have a little problem with growing taller

Haley same situation, but I was born at 7 months January 24,2004 . I’m 15 now and doing fine. After I was born I stayed in the hospital for 2-3 months.

I lost my son at 24 weeks due to placenta abrasion. He was very tiny, I thought maybe he had a chance when he was born but he died shortly after birth. He wasn’t able to breath,he was also a two vessel cord baby so this made me high risk. We’re hoping to try again in the future. We don’t know why this this happen that just do.

Please make sure you have enough vitamin D. Vitamin D defiencies and/or celiac and or thyroid issues can cause premature birth.

After all mediation and bed rest I delivered baby thru C section in 32 weeks ..😢😢
