For anyone new to watching Shawn, this stuff is like gold dust. It will transform your ball striking. Combined with keeping your focus toward the target and you are there. My ball striking has improved massively since I started to watch Shawn, and I’ve gained a club/club and a half in distance. I used to have all sorts of mechanical swing thoughts and my consistency was very poor, now I have no mechanical swing thoughts at all and it is much better. After a couple of practice swings thinking about cutting the dandelion, or throwing the club, or sending the divot toward the target (whichever suits you), I step up to the ball, align myself using an intermediate point, one last thought about which side of the intermediate point I want to send the ball to draw or fade it, then look at the target, look at the ball and then hit it without further thought. My brain is just concentrating on the target. It’s a combination of Shawn and Dr Bob Rotella. Once you set your body doing a task with a target it all just sort of falls into place. I highly recommended subscribing to the Wisdom in Golf Premium channel, I do and it is money well spent (and not a lot of money either!) Thanks Shawn.
I just wanted to say thanks for your videos they helped me out a lot. I understand the golf swing. I've watched a lot of your videos thanks to you I really understand the swing . I am so excited for next year. Thanks again 😁😁
Hi Shawn, getting back into golf. Was a 4 handicap but got a total knee, now coming back. What irons are you guys using. Mine are old ping I2. Need an upgrade
I just filmed myself at the range and realized I hunch over too much and therefore stretch my arms out to reach the ball. I’ve grown “comfortable” at that position but want to fix it for consistency. Any videos that cover ball distance away from the feet, where your club shaft should point at on the body and how to reprogram what comfortable setup should feel like?
You bet! I have some nice oldies but goodies like “distance to ball with all clubs shawn clement” and “predict perfect contact and direction shawn clement” On our premium channel it’s “posture” and “dynamic posture” and the “goldie locks series”
Shawn , Any thought on Rotary Swing Chuck Quinton on line ? For what ever reason , he thinks more turning of the hips is bad for power of the swing , as is the left arm bending at all in the backswing , reduces power ?
Does the toe of the club slightly off the ground at address apply to fairway woods as well? I’m guessing yes but it’s less obvious due to head shape and loft of the club (grass whip). Would be interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
Hey Jimmy! Don’t worry about that with woods or irons; just don’t try to keep the sole flat-just focus on what is the best posture you need to whip along the grass and towards the direction you want to start the ball.
Shawn I have been watching your videos for awhile and they have really improved my game. Cutting grass has me making solid contact with my irons. I do have a question. I am an older golfer and my hybrids, woods and driver all have a senior shaft but my 7 iron through wedges have steel shafts. My swing feels effortless with the senior shafts but not so much with the steel shafts. I have not been able to find much of a selection in left handed senior/graphite shaft irons. Even though I am a high handicapper do you think I may benefit from an iron fitting? Thanks again for everything you do.
Yes, you bet! If you were in my academy I would be getting you to try the new irons with 2 very specific shafts such as the Project X Cypher iron shafts at 50 grams and the UST Helium shaft at 50 or 60 grams in the senior flex. You will not believe the difference!
Hi Shawn, When I close the face 30 degrees-ish and move the ball to just before the club bottoms out, I hit it hard, but my launch angle is really low. Even when I move the ball up a bit and weaken my grip, I am still hitting too low. Misses tend to be a low pull draw, toe hits. What other issues should I consider? Thanks so much. I really enjoy your content.
Hey David! See this video ua-cam.com/video/DnQUoR12N1M/v-deo.html and then see “best lesson I ever got from Moe Norman Shawn clement” which is all about height.
Cutting the stem just clicked after watching this. The stem is under the ball IN the ground. But I might lose it after my fever breaks. Haha. See ya soon.
I find this easy to do with all my short irons been gradually building a consistent baby draw but put a 4i in my hands and all my brain wants to do is come over the top and beat the snot out of the ball. That club really gets in my head!
Hey Sean! See “gently flush the long irons shawn clement” Should feel like a 2/10 effort level to get 7/10 velocity; feel that you are using full range of motion back and into the finish but hitting 4 iron 150 yards!
@@golflessons just wanted to report back that the video helped out a heap! Also had a lesson on ball striking which is helping me get my release "out there" and not flipping at the ball. Thanks again!
Shawn , What problems are at risk of swinging to your direct target ? I know you say to swing right of intermediate , for draw , and left of intermediate fade . I see you many times just swinging directly at the intermediate target to target with tight dispersion . Plus when your training with grass whip , your always swinging it on plane towards target. Clearly if you going to the target and not right or left , you don't need much closure of the blade . With this all said , I do get better flush center contact with going right or left of intermediate. Is going to target not as consistent, more chances of pulls. Your teaching with training tools is always to the direct target. Am I missing something in your dialogue? Just saying .

My grass whip from KC golf is coming today!

Great video. How does ball position change with the various clubs in your bag? Like fairway woods and longer irons
Hey Greg! See “ball position bible shawn clement” 👍👌
This is good lesson for me 👍 Im very often standing too upright.

Have you seen Bryson’s latest swing he used to make 2nd place in WORLD LONG DRIVE??

Thank you Shawn. I will definitely be mindful of my intermediate target and my target intention - height-wise.
Again great video as always Sean and your explanations are so crystal clear excuse me I have to go cut some grass 🤣🏌️♂️
Go for it! 👌👍
Does this mean we should/could toe in our irons at address?
If you are slicing them or blocking them to the right absolutely!! This is not a bandaid!!
