Note that this is an Ilya-specific edit with very few lifts from other lifters. Soon we will have an extended edit which will be much longer and it will include lifts from all lifters.

I love Ilya, he dances, loving moments and often he lifts. Never having a bad thing to say about anybody, does his thing and of course smiling all the time.
What baffles me about Ilya is how he always perform his lifts so nonchalantly. The majority of the top olympic lifters have some major setups or some pondering and pulling their inner strengths to perform their lifts. He just walks into the platform, grabs the bar and breaks records.

Olympic champion or not...this man will be considered as arguably the greatest weightlifter ever, and above all, a good person. Simply legendary.

Personally I find Klokov, Xiaojun, Dimas and Ilyin to be on the top of the list, they each have different techniques and you can learn A LOT from analyzing their lifts

It's pretty obvious he did something. He had 1/3 of the hair he has now 2005-2012. I'm guessing FUE transplant. Propably due to the testosterone.

@Hookgrip, do you know if Ilya will be training at RWL Weightlifting?
Hrmm, I'm not familiar with RWL, but as far as I know, Ilya is training at Norwood. He's also going to be doing some seminars with Vasya and Yasha so he'll be training at those seminars as well, as far as I know. I believe he heads back to Kazakhstan around early September.

maybe the heavy weight didn't feel that good, so he went down to get the feeling back. then went up again with the right feeling?
He probably didn't feel warmed up/comfortable enough
he does wave training. it was around in many places before this, but as a training method it was mainly spread in kazakhstan by enver turkeleri. it's been part of ilya's training system for over 10 years.
