Exactly. It looks like the the federal government should consider signing a bill that makes traffic much lighter so the fire, EMS and police can respond easily fast.
Consequences of car-centric infrastructure. If New York would give significant less priority to cars, build separate infrastructure for public transport and bicycles, then emergency vehicles would have alternatives. Traffic isn't some mysterious thing, it's literally too many cars. That's it. You are not stuck in traffic, you _are_ the traffic.
Most of these videos are taken in Manhattan. The streets there are set up differently than in most other boroughs within the city. In all honesty, most people (including me) don't know what to do when they are completely stopped at a red light and there's an emergency vehicle stuck behind them trying to get through. So in most cases people just sit there and wait.
I thought the "move over law" also includes the order to give way for emergency vehicles (lights/siren active), nation wide!? Everybody knows what to do, can't say you don't while in possession of a valid driving license! but they just ignore emergency services...
I'VE BEEN SCREAMING THIS FOR DECADES, UNTIL THE NYC MAJORS OFFICE IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE, BY NOT RED ZONING ALL MAIN STREETS, REMOVING NIKE LANES AND ONE WAYS, THIS WILL NEVER EASE, parking garages need to be mandatory on every main intersection or closest open lot, no exceptions
There is space, you have to roll your car as far to sides as possible. Parking lots, side walks. everything to get them through. You can only come to a total stand still when you are out of the way. Traffic lights don't matter, you always give in to emergency cars and slowly drive over red and make space?! Is this NYC specific, or is this an US issue? In Germany the rescue driver would punch your ass out of the way with this level of incompetence. People manage to make place in tight 800 years old city streets better than this..
Start arresting people in batches, and towing their cars to an impound lot. The law requires that you yield to an emergency vehicle displaying lights and sounding sirens. You can't just sit there like a store dummy, and wait for "someone else" to act.
There's plenty of room for the cars to move over the ambulance have somewhere important to be unlike these cars if a person dies then it's going to be the cars fault and not just the cars the pedestrians in the way just shut off your siren is pointless in traffic like this and by the way if these people move out the goddamn way unacceptable can't even move for emergency vehicles
NY needs to do something against this. This is unacceptable

If you live in the NYC region, support the forthcoming congestion charge!
Just simply put plows on the emergency vehicles, gta style

Ban personal cars in NYC
🤔You better walk to the hospital you get there faster!😂
Literally stole my comment
Yep. They should hire Husain bolt or something to just run with a stretcher lol
Reminds me of The Game Plan

@@commanderb-tron931 the thing is, as he said in Manhattan there's no space to move because of one lane roads and many intersections
@@commanderb-tron931 what do you do when there's no space to your right to move?
Sad :( but nice catch
There is plenty of space to pull over and they simply do NOTHING! Horrible.
Where is the space
Greatest city on Earth
lol rite
Nice video!
At some point you might as well just shut your siren off. It's useless in traffic like this.
great video and catch
Why not First Responders on Motorcycles?
Every Bike would be faster through this traffic
Now this is a good idea. Only thing is some larger ambulance equipment may not fit on motorbike.
nice video 😊
Wow this is still happening SMH unbelievable but believable

NYC mostly. Maybe Los Angeles probably too. Not all of USA problem.
New York has the heaviest traffic ever
Ambulance spend 4 minutes just go through the one block. Is it happen commonly due to selfish traffic? Just interesting from Japan.
Great video! ;)
Give them a loud hi-lo siren and every car will move, trust me.

La ambulancia ha quedado literalmente atorada. Pues sí 👌, es una pesadilla de tráfico. ¡vaya putada¡. Es como para romper los nervios a cualquiera.
I’ll be dead already they never make it on time
I thought NYPD didn't use forward facing blue lights.
It is actually white, it just looks really blue in the video. I had to look twice.
If they removed bike lanes this would not happen
If people drove less this also wouldn’t happen.
Pure selfish people plenty of room to move over
Une circulation difficile
.•*★¨`• Very good video. - Awesome work! .•*★¨`•.
