Great idea to use a line of train cars for shops, along the tracks of Oberland Station. In my head canon, i can imagine they were left there, and repurposed as such.
Great build! What I love is that for almost all of these Oberland settlements, everyone agrees that the train tracks should serve as an access route right into town. I’d like to think that armored handcars would become popular among Commonwealth travelers, and Oberland would serve as a sort of resupply depot for dozens of handcar users, from Minutemen transports, to civilian traffic, to cargo and trade as an alternative to brahmin supply lines.
Almost didn't watch this, but the thumbnail grabbed me. WOW!!! This is the nicest, most lore friendly settlement build in Fallout 4 I have seen. You OCD'ed your a** off. Absolutely Fabulous job. Same goes for your Hangman's Alley video, equally impressive. Spent a lot of time in my playthrough on settlements, got them all to 100% happiness, but I got nothing on 3inchkilla. Great work! Almost makes me want to reload the game. Thank you.
Loved this video. Your you first other person I've seen use railroad cars here. Years ago I did one both here and at starlight as they are both close to tracks. Kudos!
Awesome ! Really like the setup. Only thing I don't like is at about 1:55 where it shows an opening in the boxcars to the outside, and the entrance to the doctor from the outside.
Since there is a spawn point just downhill from there, that doctor should feel very insecure. I build a tower with three turrets at that spot to deal with the spawns.
The rail lines would make for great transportation with them old pump trolleys and coal engines they could travel around easier with heavy loads safer too
I never cared for the settlement building in 4. But I love it in 76 cause you actually get to show off your camp to other players and theirs to you. It's awesome
Tight build brother. Oberland is always a bit of a problematic settlement for me.. Currently my play thru avoided it forever, then when I set up I shut down the Settler beacon and just banish a few extras that come in at other over packed settlements to it. It's a small plot. Not as bad as Hangman's alley but.. Anyhow love the ideas you are sharing. 👍(oh and ps- Maybe share your mods list)
love your idea, i do something similar whenever there are tracks i like the look of it and build the rest around it. where do the big square support posts come from at 0:17 ? are they a foundation or something? maybe barn, they look barny lol
Quite a nice build, that. A little claustrophobic for my taste, but lore friendly nonetheless. I notice you don't exploit the wiring glitch though. I use it in all my settlements as it stops enemies damaging exposed wires. There's also a PC only exploit I've used at Oberland Station and Hangman's Alley where, using tcl, you can hide a vault fusion reactor completely out of sight. Under the signal box at Oberland and behind the wall, on the right hand side, at Hangman's Alley, as the build area extends beyond the wall.
Hello mate!! I love fallout 4 I play in series x with mods using various Scrap mods for settlements (s.c.a.p) and (sts all DLC) but in bunker hill there is no way, I have built for a long time with the USE mods and other simpler ones all over the world map... but bunker hill takes me to the desk as soon as I leave the settlement... I don't know what to do
@@CarlosCruz-mw4hp I actually got inspiration from seeing a video from Grey Gaming where he built a fort there. But the way he built it looked so much like a prison it was too good of an idea to pass up. Lore wise it would make sense too. The BOS needs somewhere to keep prisoners of war, non feral ghouls, maybe interrogate synths too. Makes sense to set that up right at their base of operations.
A lot of the structural pieces, like the wooden windows or windowed guard posts, are from mods called Thematic and Practical and Homemaker. Clutter within shelves are from “Do it yourself”. Signs and such are mostly from the Kuro Tab. Sandbags and that rain catcher in front of the garden are also from Kuro Tab or Homemaker. Everything else is vanilla I believe.
I have mods where enemies level with me, damage multipliers for my character and enemies, NPCs travel (more NPCs/enemies), etc. that make the game harder on survival so I kit out all of my companions with armor. That and immersion purposes lol.
I need to know what mod he used to get those scrappy looking seats and couches... This gave me hella good ideas for this settlement for my 50th playthrough. I literally play this game to build shit

In the ttrpg the train line is active
@@gerbill13 There's a table top game of this? Link?
Awesome job. This is one of my favorite Oberland Stations to date. Everything is well-placed with great attention to detail.
That might been the best build I have seen, but that might be because this was more Metro than Fallout.

Absolutely love it man! I never thought to build such cool and realistic looking settlements. Great job!
what an awesome idea to have the shops in a row with the tracks down the center, very cool. Nice layout and variations of stores/shops! Nice work man!
This has got to be one of the best settlement builds iv seen the detail is amazing.
Safe, well-stocked, and everything makes sense. Excellent work!
fabulous settlement, really in keeping with the lore for this area of the game
really like what you did with this, using the rail way was a great way to work with the land.
Man you should absolutely apply for game design. You have an incredible gift man
Amazing build my guy, im lowkey gonna use the trade center is mine as well cause it looks damn great
what a nifty build!
I also love whatever mod you're using to get all that lovely green, but my PC would probably catch fire if I installed it XD
This is beautiful! I really like the use of the boxcars, well done!
Very scrappy and lore appropriate! Nicely done.

Very well done. Very Fallout looking!! ✊👌
This is an inspiring build brother
nicely detail and very convincing design, good work!

yeah i thought that was a particular weakness too.
Thank you! Yeah, it was a bit of an oversight (obviously) and just got a little lazy on trying to fix it haha.
Since there is a spawn point just downhill from there, that doctor should feel very insecure. I build a tower with three turrets at that spot to deal with the spawns.
Wow thanks for sharing! Definitely going to steal the ideas hahaha. I really love the not pristine looks of everything! Makes it real 😁
Simply breathtaking
I hate Oberland Station because I can never figure out what to do with it because of its size and terrain. I applaud you!
A very good work, I love your settlement!
Very nice build! That lens flare is an eyesore though lol
I see you got thematic and practical too, I’m jealous as heck because that mod isn’t on Xbox anymore it’s only on nexus now
You should make this a mod id think people would use it. I know i would this is awesome
like daaym, make this 4 "transfer settlements" pls
The rail lines would make for great transportation with them old pump trolleys and coal engines they could travel around easier with heavy loads safer too
This is amazing, now I wish this was actually apart of the game
sim settlements 2 and it will be
super immersive!

where do the big square support posts come from at 0:17 ? are they a foundation or something? maybe barn, they look barny lol
Thank you! The supports, if I remember correctly, come from the Contraptions DLC and yes, they’re in the barn section haha.
@@3inchkilla oh cool. what grass and trees mod is that? i like the look of it, not too much just enough green
Yoooo this is so hard man!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is so good!!!!! Nicely done!
Awesome build!
Looks great
9:57 How do you have the NPC posted there like a guard tower without one? mod?
The window/wall he’s looking out of is actually a guard post from the mod “Thematic and Practical”.
I love this!! Good job!! 💜
This is pretty awesome
You killed this
Very cool and super detailed

Supreme build
Oberland is my favorite settlement but this Oberland seems huge.
Is a mod being used? If so, mind sharing the mod?
No real mods to extend the boundaries of the settlement honestly. Just base Oberland in terms of size.
@@3inchkilla Really? It looks spacious. Was there any mod to alter oberland used?
You should do a load order video
Wow, very cool🥰
This makes me want to buy a PlayStation and play FO4 again
Would you be willing to share your modlist? Your game looks great
7:50 some.... BODY ONCE TOLD ME!!!!1!!
Really cool. Where did you get the trains from?
Thank you! They’re from the Contraptions Workshop DLC if I remember correctly.
Bravo, très réussi 👍

Me: Oh.. what a deep voice she has.
damn If they said this is a new game, I will believe it..
Can you build more Minutemen settlements in Nuka world or far Harbor
I just started a new game after a six month hiatus so I'll do my best!
Amazing
Does putting stuff into the shops serve a purpose beyond aesthetics?
They can be used as containers to store items or strictly aesthetics.
@@3inchkilla ok, so the vendor can’t sell them then?
I want to get my settlements all done like this but my game keeps freezing and crashing lol
Nice build, but I dislike having any ghouls at settlements other than The Slog. They should be quarantined there.
If they’re good enough to fight for the NCR, they’re good enough in my settlements imo.
I confine ghouls in the slog until it reaches maximum capacity. After that whatever ghoul appears in any other settlement I leave them there.
@@CarlosCruz-mw4hp after the slog is full I send them to a prison build at Boston Airport

workshop mods? I need vendor mods
dope
mfw I forced Oberland to give crops to the BoS and now can’t get them as settlement again
정말 위대하오 선생 !!!!

Did you use mods ??(
Yeah
It looks like a different game what the hell?
Haha yeah I’m running like 150+ mods.
Why is piper wearing so much armor?
