They have a sulphur-ish taste like a hardboiled egg, maybe its the turmeric? Not my favorite but they aren't bad, I just taste egg for some reason lol

In the Masala spice blend, It probably contains Asafoetida (also called hing) which is a gum resin that comes from the ferula herb, and it has sulfur compounds that give it a smell and taste like boiled eggs. It’s used a lot in traditional masala spice blends.

Oooooh, perhaps that's what I'm picking up on the taste. Like I say, it's a little off-putting. I've tried to eat these a couple of more times, but it's just not right 🤣🤣

@caesarsalad2111 You're very welcome. I think I'd pass on them if I were you. That eggy taste or whatever it is, just stops me from being able to eat them and I'm not the only one.
I saw this one on the shelf today. I didn't pick it up because I didn't care too much for the Tikka Masala flavor from a couple of years back. I felt the flavor on that was too rich. I like the more subtle flavors.
I may pick up this one some time. This off flavor that you are talking has me curious.
So far may favorite flavor has been the BLT. It's got my two favorite chip ingredients: Bacon and Tomato powder.
Hey John !! Yeah, there's something a bit off with the flavor. I actually sat down with the bag 4 times and I just can't eat them. Some of the other comments are saying it's like an egg flavor and perhaps that's what I'm getting. I'd probably rate these even a little lower now 🤣🤣 I'd probably pass on them, if I were you. The Habenero are delicious 😋
I was underwhelmed with these at first but then the more I ate the more I liked them and now I think they are very very good.
Hey Thorn, thanks for the input !! I'm off work today, so I'll have to give more a try and see if they grow on me. Did you notice that little "off tasting" flavor that I noticed ?? It's probably just a spice that they use to make Masala that's coming across as different, but I'm sure it's normal.

Yup they super good. And that's how I was with Doritos fiery mango.

They're so bad. The more you eat, the more you realize they taste like egg farts.

I'm with ya on that. It really doesn't taste good. When they released the Tiki Masala a few years ago, they tasted great. It's too bad that they didn't stick to that recipe. Maybe enough negative talk will make them change it.

Yeah, these were a huge disappointment 😞 It's too bad, I had high hopes for them.
Smells like rotten egg farts, and tastes just as bad. This is the first (and only) bag of Lay's I've ever thrown in the garbage. Thankfully I only paid $2 for these.
I can't disagree with your thoughts on it. I've actually tossed my bag out also, after trying to eat then, multiple times. At least you've got yours cheap 😁 Thanks for your input 👍
