Another variety of tinea infections is - Tinea nigra which is a localised infection of the stratum corneum especially palms. It produces black or brown macular lesions.Mainly in tropics.
When I lived right in the San Joaquin area and felt like I was going to throw up anything I ate and had a major yeast infection. I went to about ten doctors, and I never heard any of them about Valley Fever. One doctor said, take an antihistamine. One man went to the ER for his foot. They kept giving him antibiotics and had to remove half his foot. Then someone suggested it being a fungal infection. It was and the man got well immediately, with half his foot gone. This is important information that's obviously not taught in med school. They don't know if something is viral, bacterial or fungal.
Just curious, what type of fungas can enter the nose and live there long term? I have strange smell in nose and I suspect it's fungas, I'm all about hygiene so it's not that, I already went to ENT, anyone else can please share experience or situation, solutions ?

Hi Eric. FYI: apparently Pip/Tazo no longer causes false positive Galactomannan test results. J Clin Microbiol. 2014 Jun;52(6):2199-201. doi: 10.1128/JCM.00285-14. Epub 2014 Apr 9.
I hadn't heard that yet, but thanks for pointing it out and including the journal link!
